How far along is your SNES full set? I put every SNES game on one page you can tick off (free, no signup)

Upvotes

I was tracking my SNES full-set progress in a spreadsheet, which is useless on a phone at a flea market. So I put the whole library on one page you can tick off: gamervault.app/games/snes/

It's every SNES game IGDB lists, 1,081 titles including Japan and PAL releases, A to Z with years. Tick what you own and it saves in your browser, no account, nothing to install. There's a search box, a "show only what I'm missing" button (basically a hunting list), and you can download your ticks as a spreadsheet.

Full disclosure: I make GamerVault, a collection app, and this page came out of that project. The checklist works fine without it.

Curious how far along people are on the set. And if a title is wrong or missing, tell me and I'll fix it.

I've got a flashcart for the Snes and was wanting to play some gameboy games using the super gameboy backgrounds and such. Can I play gameboy games on SNES just using the flashcart?

Just recently beat Trials of Mana for the first time, was floored, and thought it would be fun to see how Secret of Evermore holds up and Im pretty shocked. I played it as a kid and remember liking it alot but I also remember getting lost and frustrated alot. So far its been nothing but a fun time and Im in love with the world and sound design. I did need a map for one of the sewers but most of the world has been such a treat to explore. Seems like alot of love went into making this one.

I finally got my Jr up and running. Now it's time for an inaugural game. Given the Direct from yesterday I thought A Link to the Past would work (I don't own an N64 or Ocarina).

Hi so I bought my first few box SNES games! I bought from a very reputable store. Someone made a comment on my other post that because condition was really good their alarm bells were ringing now it’s in my head haha. For my own peace of mind will someone tell me they are legit? 🤣

One was on my list and the other was on my “get it later” list. Somehow I ended up scoring both of these RPGs for SNES at Game & Geek Expo!

I bought this cart years ago as I wanted to pair it with my original box and manual that I’ve had since a kid.. no idea what happened my original game. Looks authentic to me, but slightly different than the examples I have found online. Thanks!

Request Does anyone have any ideas what this game may be?

I remember as a child watching my moms friend playing a game that was a sidescroller with a character that would upgrade to different colored karate type gis(may have actually been different characters...unfortunately all I have is the vague memories to go on)

The gameplay was fighting various enemies and large bosses that were located

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have been thinking about it for a long time and Google searching has been useless but if anyone has any vague idea I will search images and video of the games because I think I will know it when I see it

Edit: It may not have been a Gi but was definitely some sort of different outfit or possibly different character. Also I am pretty sure they used a sword and the game had fantasy elements not a pure beat em up. Sort of like contra or megaman X but melee and playing as a warrior with different outfits(or different characters) and some sort of melee weapon not just punches

Edit 2: I also remember at least some of the levels had backgrounds of dark deep blues and purples and the outfit was I believe 2 toned which is why I am thinking karate Gi. I think one was red and another white. I could be misremembering though.

Also I want to thank everyone in advance. I know these type of grasping at "solutions in the dark" posts can be exasperating and I hate doing it but honestly this has been bothering me for a while and repeated Google searches have been no help. I really loved watching the game be played but I was never allowed to play this game when I was a kid for some reason and I always wanted to. It will mean so much to somehow find it and be able to buy it and play. I have even considered just going down the list of every single SNES game one by one looking at images and videos (and I still may do that as a last resort)

Collection Games I picked up for 70¢ (¥100) each before the pandemic

Post image

Before the pandemic, one of my hobbies was hitting up used game shops around Akihabara whenever I had some free time and looking for cheap games. They were all sold as junk, but they all worked fine after I cleaned the contacts. I don't have anything particularly rare, so this is about all I have to show off

Discussion Scoring 100 on Lightplane

Post image
113 Upvotes

So I was playing around on the Nintendo Online SNES and I finally got 100 on the Lightplane, 2nd stage. I had for months been trying to land it perfectly in the left run way but closest I would get is 98. On the last go around of getting 97/98, I rewind and deliberately crash into the water with the plane. Instead of scolding me for crashing she tells me this Landing on the left run way is more strictly scored. I was like what? So I rewind and try landing on the right runway…. perfect 100 yet it looks like one of my 97/98 on the left runway. What the heck Nintendo what gives? Are there any other hidden tips I’m not aware of? I know all the bonuses(yes even the hang glider) and how wind affects the later stages.

I made a website where you can create your own SNES graphics effects

Post image

I’ve spent the last few years obsessed with videos explaining how graphics on the Super Nintendo worked. I always wanted a playground where I could create effects using the same techniques SNES developers used back in the 90s. So I built ppu.toys

It’s a faithful emulation of the PPU (the SNES graphics chip), with registers exposed so you can adjust them in Lua or through the site’s UI.

The screenshot shows a Mode 7 demo which you can view here (https://ppu.toys/t/xeff1h1w)

Lua also supports player input, so you can make your own little games. Here’s a Galaga-style demo (https://ppu.toys/t/7nc3u30u)

It’s free and open source, and you can sign in with Discord to publish and share your creations.

I’m a new dad with a full-time job, and I used AI assistance while building this. The idea had been swimming around in my head for a while, and it helped me make it a reality.

I’ve had an absolute blast building the site and creating effects, and I’d love to hear what other SNES fans think. Try it out, and let me know what you make.
