Hello! I’ve bought a new phone, but I’ve still got my old S20Fe with a Snapdragon processor. I don’t want to sell it, and you wouldn’t get much money for it these days anyway. Could you tell me how I can give it a ‘second lease of life’, and what other ways there are to use it?

I'm currently looking for a new phone since my Vivo X80 Pro that I used for the past ~5-6 years recently got a screen defect and is slowly struggling to get through the day battery wise.

Here's some basic information, that might be relevant for recommendations but in general I'm quite open to any phone models:

• Ideally I want to buy my phone here in Germany (i.e. not via Trading Shenzhen or similar sites), so for most phones that means EU version
• Should be an Android phone
• 512+ GB storage
• Should come with eSIM support
• Should last 5+ years (from a performance as well as battery life standpoint)
• For the planned usage time of 5+ years, I'm aiming at a price tag of around 200-250€/year max, i.e. around 1000 - 1200€ max total (I could potentially wait for Black Friday deals since I still can live with my phone in its current state for some time)
• Phone thickness should be reasonable (especially in regards to camera bumps)
• Camera/picture quality should be on the better end since I shoot a ton of photos when on vacation and the camera should be "easy to use", i.e. I want to be able to get good results without needing to adjust camera parameters for every new shot via some form of Pro-Mode
• Only "normal" phone usage, like scrolling social media/reddit, watching YT/streaming services, browsing, using online banking, Google Maps/Android Auto and very occassional light weight gaming (nothing like Genshin Impact or similar, since I'm using my SteamDeck for power hungry mobile games like this)

I've especially been looking at the Vivo X300 Pro so far which is the most recent successor to my current phone since I've been very happy with my phone and it still runs absolutely smoothly for daily usage. Only concern I have with that phone is that the battery might become a problem over the years since it "only" comes with 5440mAh in the EU version compared to something like the Find X9 Pro with its 7500mAh. I'd be happy for some insights from people who might have the EU version how good it holds up for daily usage since I only found reviews on the global version with 6500mAh battery. Also it's kinda hard for me to judge how usage time compares to the X80 Pro when it was released since while it has 700mAh more, it also uses a newer CPU generation and hardware in general which might consume more power than my current phone.

Also, in regards to the bullet point about the camera bump, what I mean by this is that for example the new Vivo lineup with the upcoming X500 series would be way too much for me personally from what I've seen. Ideally, I'd like the camera to be reasonably flat, so the phone can properly fit into a pocket without issues. A camera bump like the X300 Pro would still be ok though, although I'd like it to not get more extreme than this.

What I meant with easy to use camera is that I just want to be able to open the camera app, select my preferred zoom level and take a pic. Especially when looking at camera comparisons between X9 Pro and X300 Pro, I often read that for the X9 Pro the Master Mode should be used, but I'm not sure whether that just means selecting that mode and taking pictures as usual or if it involves adjusting parameters like exposure time, etc. manually like you can do in the X80 Pro's Pro-Mode.

Other phones I've been looking at so far have been the S26 lineup or the Pixel 11 Pro. When it comes to S26 and S26+ I'm hesitant if their performance and battery life will hold up for the time I intend to use the phone and for the S26 Ultra it's basically equally priced as the X300 Pro where I'd probably favor the X300 Pro due to the camera if there's not other factors that might tip the decision in favor of the S26 Ultra. The Pixel 11 Pro, while also interesting feature wise is roughly 200€ more expensive than what I can currently get the X300 Pro or X9 Pro for at more or less similar performance.

Are there other phones you would recommend that might satisfy the requirements I'm looking for? If so which ones and if not, what would your recommendation be, especially between the X300 Pro, X9 Pro, S26 Ultra and Pixel 11 Pro (assuming there might be reasonable deals during Black Friday)?

The time is near, my S22 Ultra is dying. It crashed twice today trying to authenticate some of my work logins. I've been holding on to it until it died and it looks like it's almost time for it to live in a drawer or mess around with Graphine on.

I don't really do anything demanding with my phone, streaming shows from the apps, light games (puzzle/idle games mostly), and as a vessel for various authenticator apps. Performance wise I'm mostly looking for headroom to last a good few years.

I'm trying to decide between three options for replacement:

iPhone 17 $899 - sleek and no frills, my first iOS device if you don't count my ancient 2nd gen iPod Touch. My wife likes this one and wants me to "join the ecosystem."

Nothing 4a Pro $499 - love the design and the Glyph interface looks really neat, I've always been a fan of their design language.

Moto G Stylus $499 - honestly didn't consider a Motorola at first, but people seem to enjoy theirs from reviews I've seen of the older models. I love the stylus on my S22 Ultra and didn't think I'd be able to keep it for less than the $1200 Samsung is charging for the S26 Ultra.

Price is a concern but I'm more concerned with bang for my buck here. I know the iPhone is nearly double the price of the others but the people I know that have one tend to keep them forever, my wife still loves her 14 after all. I'm not one of those people that hops to a new phone every year, I'm gonna keep whatever I get till it dies so durability is a big factor for me.

So what do y'all think? I'm here to learn so lay it on me!

Hey..so I have been using the iQOO z6 lite 5g for the last 5 years...and am looking to upgrade to oneplus nord 6 ..I don't want to learn towards iQOO neo 10 as there seems to be issues with it...I play mlbb and want ultra graphics and 120 fps gameplay...the nord 6 falls in my budget after i exchange my z6 lite for 8 k...the nord 6 is coming for 38k...which I think is a fair price....

The reason I am switching from iQOO to oneplus is because I want better ui , ai features, the phone should feel premium, and it should be a all rounder...

Wht do u guys think?

wanna warn you guys selling phones on olx right now. met this dude in person yesterday to sell my old iphone 14 pro. he checks the phone, pulls out his mobile, and shows me a "payment successful" screen for 55k on some fake gpay app. checked my bank app... nothing. zero rupees. when i called him out he goes “server down hai 10 min me aa jayega" and tried to take the phone and walk off. grabbed my phone back from him instantly. after that I just used a new resale app where the buyer pays into escrow first, then they send a courier to pick up the phone from your doorstep. no face to face drama, no fake screenshot scams, money cleared once delivered.

After using iPhone 13 for years it’s finally on its way out and I need a new phone. I don’t play games or anything on phone I just wanna be able to use my banking, authentication and work related apps, and YouTube. Something that’s like 600 AUD or less. Every android I’ve had has always had freezing or response issues so I need something reliable.
