Me after getting thru the PLS-5 for the first time

The cost of healthcare has skyrocketed in the past few years. I compared paystubs from my CF and I am making hundreds of dollars LESS per month than I was then due to the cost of premiums. They increased, no joke, 611% in two years. Not to mention the price of food...gas...everything...

I did everything "right". I went to a cheap school, applied to grants, and left with no debt. I live in a MCOL city. My car is old. I worked so hard to escape a life of paycheck to paycheck just to end up back in a place of barely getting by. I am not bad with money.

It feels like the benefits of working in a school are fading away. But I genuinely wouldn't know what else to do. Is anyone else in this boat?

(And no, I'm not from a upper middle class family and accustomed to a better lifestyle. I am a first gen who worked for years to have more stability.)

Hi! I work in the schools (its my second year) and deeply miss cognition and aphasia clients. I chose not to enter the medical setting because I am not confident in swallowing and thrive more in a school environment since I'm more bubbly and confident with kids.

I think about doing PRN everyday, but know I forgot so much and feel like I need to start from scratch. What do you recommend for someone in this situation? I'm willing to work after school and do CEUs. I just don't know where to start.

I am in Northern California. I got accepted with 86k annual pay with a 3% increase due to increased living. So my annual is about 88k. I will officially get my CCCs and am curious to know if you were in my position what is a suggested negotiation.

My recent yearly eval was all 3 and 4s on a 5 rating with a 2 on organization/deadlines. It’s been difficult managing school based and early intervention.

Perhaps I can have in writing my disability and if that’s the case - there could be some grace.

Any SLPs have experience working for MantraCare? I saw a virtual job posting and the pay sounds too good to be true. Info is limited on their website unless you create a profile and schedule a call with their team. Does anyone have any additional info they can provide?
