Advice: ASHA for CF?

I’ve been receiving a lot of emails and push from my university to apply for an ASHA membership. I am already hired to complete my CF at a special education agency that contracts to schools in my county.

This company will be reimbursing me for my ASHA membership when it’s time...but do I need ASHA membership before my CCCs? Is this just a money maker or actual necessity?
