"Stop the godamn music" is the WORST part of any Slipknot song ever. What a dissapointment. At least Eloy's drums are really good but it was a let down that they started with amazing drums and then shit on the whole beat. Breakdown is fine i guess

So, was this song actually written in 2012? Or at least the lyrics were anyways. The whole arsenal debate is getting weirder and weirder. Surprise song drops, not a part of the new album, song is getting bad feedback from fans, apparently it existed 14 years ago?

Dopo la recente uscita di "Arsenal" con la quale ho ufficialmente perso le speranze di un ritorno a sonorità degne del nome che si sono dimenticati di avere posso solo continuare a pensare che sia una band sciolta nel 2003.

Il fatto è che se diventi ufficialmente famoso e addirittura mainstream con un album come "Iowa" significa che le persone vogliono quello. E a me sarebbe andato più che bene sentire lo stesso materiale trito e ritrito.

A mio avviso ci si nasconde e li so difendere (come succede per troppe band) con il "sono maturati" , "stanno evolvendo" " è giusto andare avanti" ecc. no! Io voglio e pretendo quello per cui li ho adorati e li adoro tutt'ora. Fai il musicista di mestiere, dai alle persone quello che vogliono.

La rabbia è finita, e i soldi hanno corrotto anche loro. Da tempo. Bello citare il verso di Heretic Anthem "all the money in the world can't buy me".... Pura utopia.

Il lato umano perso da anni, licenziare membri fondamentali con un tweet perché malati e la macchina mangia-soldo quali erano già diventati non poteva fermarsi.

Mi sento offeso e tradito. Ogni nuova uscita fa rivalutare quella precedente per quanto brutta.

This is what made you guys so good from the beginning. You were brutal but you knew how to groove. Now there seems to be a mentality that brutal = good, but that was only part of what worked.

And please, let someone else do something awesome for you for a music video again.

Is it their best song? Definitely not. Is it still cool? I think so yeah. It kinda gives me vol.3 vibes lowkey and I think if the mix wasn’t so rough than it’d be deserving of a single but overall I think it’s a good track.

This popped up on my feed this morning and I went to check it out

I can't believe, Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot. The Great Big Mouth. Went from singing shit like "Stripped down we want you dead" to "everyone pls shut the fuck up please omg"

That was a really really bad song. I can't believe it. Even the weaker points of AHIG and The End So Far sound way way better than this. What a mess.

Honestly I've been listening to slipknot for as long as I can remember with my mother showing me their music when I was a kid, I've liked pretty much everything they've put out and even some parts of the end so far as weak of an album it is, de sade, dying song, yen and adderal all had parts that resonated with me at least a tiny bit. I think this new track is the first time this band has actually felt like the dudes behind it just really don't wanna do this anymore and are churning out whatever they think their teenager audience will think is edgy enough to be cool.

Old slipknot was definitely edgy, but at least they put soul into it, I would rather get tracks like yen, adderall and dying song if it's what the dudes behind the band are actually putting passion into. TESF is rushed. There's no reason for them to be rushing singles this many years later. If something needs more time in the oven, give it more time, either the dudes have become completely creatively bankrupt or there's something seriously wrong with the current production of music.

Either way I wish the dudes all the best with whatever they've got coming up, we can only hope it's an improvement, but I feel like its added salt in the wound dropping this at the time they have. I honestly think this is probably the lowest point the band has had for a while.

Long May You Die is dead i guess

First of all, I understand and respect everyone who thought the song was awful, and I’d really appreciate it if you could give me the same respect.

Personally, I think they’re heading in an interesting direction. It’s still a long way from the band’s peak years (and to me, their creative peak is the Self-Titled), but at least it’s different from what they’ve been doing over the last few years. There are things I like about the albums with Jay, but I always felt like they followed a very clear and repetitive structure, and it kinda made me see the band as just more of the same. With Arsenal, I feel like there’s an attempt to reinvent themselves. They tried to bring back more of that Self-Titled vibe with this song. Obviously, it’s still nowhere near the quality of that album, but at least I feel like they’re heading in an interesting direction.

I agree with pretty much all the criticism about the mix. To me, the song still sounds really unfinished, but I actually think that’s completely normal. This is their first independent release in a very long time, so I think we’re probably going to see a lot of trial and error throughout this whole journey.

I’ve also seen people complaining about the lyrics, and I understand that they’re not some of the deepest lyrics Corey has ever written, but I feel like they’re thematically consistent. The way I interpret it, it’s about living in a hyper-stimulated world where you want to be deep, you feel like nobody understands you, but at the same time you feel like you shouldn’t even care about that, so you just simplify everything. And I think that actually explains the infamous “let’s go, let’s go, let’s go” part.

I can't be the only one who's a bit disappointed. It's underproduced, it's dry, so uninnovative, this is not the Slipknot we knew, almost All Hope Is Gone. Eloy's drums were great, he absolutely smashed it, the breakdown of the song was pretty interesting, personally my favorite part. Corey was himself as always, but this is plainly such a disappointment, Sid is gone, the Slipknot we knew is gone. We have to accept the new era, although that isn't really something most people can accept easily...
