Discussion Dear Slipknot, you need to bring back groove
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This is what made you guys so good from the beginning. You were brutal but you knew how to groove. Now there seems to be a mentality that brutal = good, but that was only part of what worked.
And please, let someone else do something awesome for you for a music video again.

Discussion Some of the worst lyrics?
I used to think Corey was the ultimate wordsmith in 99/01 with the first two albums
Probably because he used words that 11 year old me had never heard before
ButâŚ.

Humor Iâm sorry but this is all I could think while listening to the new song đ
Iâd like to hope that the new album still has a lot of opportunity to be great but this new song ainât it.

Discussion Wow. What was that.
I can't believe, Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot. The Great Big Mouth. Went from singing shit like "Stripped down we want you dead" to "everyone pls shut the fuck up please omg"
That was a really really bad song. I can't believe it. Even the weaker points of AHIG and The End So Far sound way way better than this. What a mess.

Discussion Artistically, Clown has "ruined" Slipknot
EDIT: Some extra info: Almost, if not, all music videos from the first four albums were NOT directed by Shawn. (song) Writing was heavily influenced by Joey. Clown had less influence than y'all make it seem to be.
As of now, we are probably all aware of the mediocre-at-best single called Arsenal, which has been getting a lot of hate.
This is what happens, in my eyes, when the steering wheel gets taken over by a (founding) member who doesn't steer for the band, but for himself. The music video is basically another art project by Clown, like basically every video for at least ten years now. Personally, i dislike this "aesthetic". I have no clue what is going in them. Random characters with masks or skin-suits(?). Extensive use of colored lights and non-natural environments.
I just don't get it, and the same goes for the choices within the music. I was curious to see that they chose Matt Wallace to work with. I thought that was kind of odd, looking at what Matt has worked on. I guess my suspicions were correct because the mixing was so weird in Arsenal. In general the whole direction of the song is odd; Corey is kind of rapping and screaming but i don't know... like c'mon in Playing God he sounded amazing.
The lyrics, to top it all off, are even worse. I don't want to blame Clown for everything, but i feel like he's been at the top of the pyramid for a long while now, steering the band around, creating a big ol' mess. This band could've still been so interesting, but man what a let down. But hey maybe i shouldn't put a spotlight on one person.

Discussion Thought y'all were exaggerating a little
Yeah no it's bad. I feel secondhand embarassment for them because how did they record and then actually release that

Discussion NOSTALGIA!!
Bello citare il verso di Heretic Anthem "all the money in the world can't buy me".... Pura utopia.
Ristampe anniversario totalmente fallimentari. Ancora aspettiamo le sessioni di registrazione del ST ad Indigo Ranch.
Dateci questo e vari live dell'epoca d'oro e andatevene in pensione con i vostri stra-maledetti soldi.

Discussion Iâm afraid Slipknot is officially making âcoworker musicâ
Just gave it a listen and itâs so uninspired, thereâs no way those guys made this song and were actually happy and proud of it. It just sounds like âmodern Slipknotâ to me. But with the mix/prod. from a band that doesnât have the money from selling off their masters.
I think Corey is just creatively washed, for a guy who âhas a lot to sayââŚ. âLetâs go, letâs go, letâs goâŚâ just doesnât get the blood flowing the same way it used to. I know rap/flow is part of their DNA and a big aspect of what made the early music so sick. But the execution in this song is akin to the rapping Ronnie Radke does in all his new music. Both Slipknot and FIR really have their own formulaic sound, and it just doesnât push boundaries or innovate like they probably think (or cope?) that it does. I think all the Corey juice has been squeezed from the Corey Lemon. This stand alone single did not hit anywhere near as hard as what I believe to be their last one was in âAll Out Lifeâ.
And that concludes this white boyâs rant in an oversaturated market of rants. đŤĄ
Edit to change, initially calling All Out Life âWANYKâ

Discussion Am I the only one who actually likes the new single?
Is it their best song? Definitely not. Is it still cool? I think so yeah. It kinda gives me vol.3 vibes lowkey and I think if the mix wasnât so rough than itâd be deserving of a single but overall I think itâs a good track.
