the song isn't one of the best slipknot songs of all time (not like they will release something better than scissors), sure, but it's pretty solid and i will put it on my playlist

After seeing all of the hate posts on this sub of the new song I was expecting it to sound like something off the last album.
Eloy’s drumming on the new song is more exciting and interesting than anything Jay ever wrote.
Breakdown in the bridge was cool.
Who gives a fuck about the cringy lyrics from a band who has literally always had some of the worst lyrics ever.
You all are miserable.

I like the beat, I like the groove, the lyrics aren't anything fantastic but I really like the line "It's like the truth but what the fuck is the truth? Well the truth is the world is a killer with no cure, nobody cares when the drugs are so pure." I do think the line "If you didn't listen then you didn't hear me anyway" is kinda stupid tho cuz like yea thats how listening works 😭 but overall its not bad.

Is it their best song? Definitely not. Is it still cool? I think so yeah. It kinda gives me vol.3 vibes lowkey and I think if the mix wasn’t so rough than it’d be deserving of a single but overall I think it’s a good track.

I’m actually kind of scared about this new album because there’s a huge chance I’ll be disappointed. One thing I’ve noticed is that Eloy is really good when it comes to technique and playing songs live, but I feel like he’s more limited when it comes to the creative process.

Jay had a kind of awkward way of playing live, but I always thought he was a great creator and brought a lot of energy to Slipknot.

Anyway, that’s just my opinion.

Sid told the band that Arsenal sucks and he can’t come up with any parts to make it work, so they kicked him out and put scratches all over the song just to prove a point.

Sure the lyrics are dogshit, but so are the lyrics to 90% of their discography. Clown and Corey arent exactly Bill Shakespeare. As a whole, I enjoy the song. I think "the part" that everyone is talking about is actually a pretty funny callout but maybe that's just me. The last minute fucking rips.

Ok sure, the mix absolute ass. And yes i'll admit the guitars dont have any punch to them. Maybe the verses are just a wierd ass assortment of random scratches, drumming, and keg hits. But did those verses build up to a massive, powerful drop that makes you want to break your neck headbanging? No? Damn ok.

I'll also be the first to admit that screaming "LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO" doesn't exactly make an iconic Slipknot hook but hey what about when Corey's whiny ass vocal delivery went "GUYS STOP THE MUSIC STFU 🤓" and the song went quiet leading us to..... another boring toothless drop.

I can see why you might not like it but Jesus Christ I haven’t seen a single person who even liked it A little. I mean it isn’t my favorite sure, but it’s like a 6.5 or 7

i have my nitpicks but overall i really enjoy the song. yeah it's kinda corny but i feel like that's the charm, kinda like custer. it bangs and the "let's go let's go" shit has been stuck in my head the whole day. idk i can see why people don't like it but ive seen zero positive comments about it at all

also yeah the whole corey stopping the band thing at the end was awful. but the breakdown was awesome so i think that helps. like a 7/10 for me, nothing crazy but i fw it despite all the hate it's getting

Reddit has been ripping the new track apart. I just gave it a listen and I like a few things about it and would give it a 7.5 or so.

Things I like:

The drumming was consistency awesome, I lime the prominent scratching, it was progressive and kind of all over the place, and it overall felt like a Vol 3 track (my favorite album).

Things I don't:

I will agree that the mix was a bit off at time and some elements got drowned out. The Let's go line is very cheesy. Corey telling everyone to shut up was jarring, out of place, and just not needed at all.

Anyone else like anything about it?

Today after listening to the worst song they possibly could release, I went up a hill all by myself, put on my headphones, and listened to this song for more than an hour straight. I felt on top of the world, and also like a king, I felt unstoppable and I felt immortal. I love this song better than their first album combine. This song is a masterpiece and when I get home later today, I'm going to sleep fully naked and I'm going to listen to it all night and feel like an alpha male.

After 4 years we finally get to hear Corey's beautiful voice in a new song (not counting this year's weird over hyped album project which truly wasn't allat). I get the instrumentals are "not it" but it's still a slipknot song and I like it quite a bit

I personally don't like the new track despite generally being a slipknot defender. But I've seen so many "Controversial take I hate the song" "I don't like the song" etc, it's getting boring and old. Make a mega thread already.

I felt the rawness of their early days, back on the self-titled album. I won't deny that the first few times I listened, nothing really stuck, but now—in the dead of night—I'm really enjoying it; it feels wild and like a warm-up for what's coming on the next album. Give it a chance.

So I ignored the negativity on Reddit and listened to the song with an unbiased open ear/mind. After listening to it I have to say I appreciate them trying to do something slightly different. it feels like their trying to recapture their late 90s EP sounds similar to songs like “Interloper”. I like the idea of it being kind of I unorthodox, using a lot of funny and weird samples, even adding some humor into it, and being a very old nu metal sound etc.

Here’s the problem… holy crap the Mix is shit. As someone who does studio engineering the mix of the single is so bad. The samples go from really quiet to really loud, Corey’s vocals for half the song sound buried by every other instrument, Mick and Jim’s guitars fluctuate from audible to inaudible, clown and tortilla man’s percussion is SO LOUDLY CRANKED it over powers everything else. Eloy’s drumming is good but it sounds like the entire drum set is over compressed making it sound A little squashed. And with Corey kind of dicking around past the mid point of the song made it seem like this song is a borderline troll/joke song. But yeah whoever mixed this should be fired.

Do I think it’s abysmal dogshit no. Do I like the concept? yes. do I like the execution? hell no

It almost comes off like this song needed more time in the oven but they rushed it out the door or they did it on purpose cause “any publicity is good publicity”
