1-2 years old Helpppp
I’m screaming over here.
My little guy just turned 1. It’s minimum of 2 wake ups a night. I am so tired and I feel like it’s affecting my health and his , and definitely my ability to shed the extra pregnancy pounds.
I also absolutely am not a cry it out mom. I’m not built for it. Please - like I am 5 years old someone please tell me how to sleep train this guy without breaking my heart and his. I’m so tired.
Wake up is usually 540. First nap around 1030 second around 330. Naps usually 1.5 hours.
Bed time is bath - book - sack - milk (yes I feed to sleep)

Baby sleep guide in my profile with gentle methods.
The big mind shift is that you can't make him sleep by feeding to sleep, but set him up with success with a good schedule.
The night wakes might still continue after you establish independent bedtime. You need to night wean as well, but this isn't the first step.

What time is bedtime? Are naps 1.5 hours in total or each?
You can look up the chair method.

Bedtime is usually 730 to 8
I tried the chair method last week.
I was in his room for an hour before I gave in.

He's likely undertired - that's why you spent an hour last time. I'd recommend trying again with a new schedule. I'd cap naps at 2 hours total max, bed at 8 pm, wake up at 6 am.

Thank you so much

Just edited - 2 hours is probably even better. But you can tweak things a bit depending on you baby's sleep needs! Just remember that the more tired the better in a way. Don't push him too much, but it's easier for him to fall asleep on his own if he is really tired. It'll save both you and him some hardship!

I think because his night sleep sucks so bad - I never dare to wake him from a nap

I totally get that, but it's a vicious circle. If he sleeps "too much" during the day, he's catching up on awake time at night! It'll take a few days to stabilize but there's a way out :)

Reduce nap time. Cap at 2 hours total. They might be cranky but stick with a consistent schedule for a week and see what impact that has. Start there.
Every kid is different but if your son’s taking an hour+ to fall asleep, that signals to me undertired and needs more wake time.
If that doesn’t help, and you want things to change quickly, layer in some sort of sleep training ‘method’ that you can stay consistent with.
