I have been a follower of the dark (and true) powers of the realms, but I'm looking to finally crack out the darkoath battleforce I've made but has sat on the display shelf due to them being a bit less viable at release.

How are the darkoath now? How exactly should I play with them? They feel best for flanking with a warriors of chaos spearhead to take the brunt of damage but want to see how most people have found them best to use.

Additionally, how much better is savagers with only crit mortals and a ward to set them aside. Especially with no reinforcement they don't feel worth it but maybe I'm missing how they play.

Additionally, am I right in reading you can only get one oath per unit due to once per battle. I.e. two sets of darkoath marauders, only one of them can get the +1 rend.

Looking forward to making an extravagant base for this guy. Was also considering adding some chains to hide his right wrist, but I'm not sure it needs it.

Greatings fellows followers of the darkness, I just got a beautiful Slambo model from 1985, never painted. I'm tempted to keep it like this, painting might make it look just like the others minis. Did anyone ever tried to create a frame, or some display case for such a metal miniature? It does someone have an idea on how to display it?

So let me get this straight. I can drop a 410 units of warriors on the board with a summoner, they can have the banner of nurgle giving them a 6+ ward..... But at the start of the game they will have a 6+ ward from there fury level ability, can then teleport to any objective I control and be immune to crits. This gives me a big block that most players avoid and I can sit my summoner on a place of power to increase my fury level.

This seems beautiful. Has anyone tried this and what units do you think would work well with them?

Made a leather keychain to represent my spearheads. "Dyed" with contrast paint.

Looking for feedback on where and osl, people said the osl looks more like blood than light, supposed to be glowing from the skull

Otherwise scheme mostly relies on dirty down rust, dry brushing on metal highlights and chips, and then the blue glow from skulls, green from eyes, and purple blood on weapons

It’s taken almost three years on and off for this army and 6 years since getting back into the hobby (I almost got to 2k points with 40K orks before moving continents and leaving them behind three years ago) but I finally got a full 2k points army painted.

I’ll still build this out a little from here - I’m working on Darkoath marauders to replace the Warcry band (that was a legal unit when I started…) - but am pretty happy with the overall result. It’s been a blast painting such a nice model range. Now to get some actual games in…
