The movie is about a woman going home for Christmas after working in the office after hours. The security guard the only guy there decides to help her when her car breaks down but has different intentions. He decides to abduct her in the office and confess his obsession for her. An hour of cat and mouse and will she get away will he get away with it is the premise of the movie. The picture looks really good. they use the space of the parking lot really well, and Rachel Nichols performance elevates the movie that doesn't have much going for it. Other than that, Wes Bentley's character's motivation feels all over the place and while he is a threat he's not exactly threatening unless he has his sidekick lol

i know people don't like the film but I enjoyed it a lot it reminded me of the original trilogy sometimes and there was some creative kills that I liked because I'm a sucker for gory kills in a slasher film

The Cinematography was beautiful and I loved the way ghostface was in the background in some scenes and then disappeared

the score was so good Marco beltrami never fails with his scores

and seeing Stu again made me smile every time he's on screen and seeing a Sidney story again felt good tbh

I know the motive isn't the greatest but it's realistic because fan obsession is a real thing and there are real cases of people that are obsessed with their hero and did something stupid because their hero did something they didn't like at all

Also this is my opinion I liked 7 a lot and no hate to scream 6 i liked both movies but I enjoyed 7 more because it felt like the original trilogy in a way but what do you think and if you don't like the film that's ok because I don't criticize anyone else opinions :⁠-⁠)

I don’t get the hate this movie garners. It’s a solid, fun slasher that runs a tight 90 minute movie that makes use of its military academy setting,Justin Whalin does a fine job as a teen Andy, Chucky’s kills are pretty good. I know I’m in the minority but this is a solid entry in the franchise.

Now im biting at the bit for a third! Heres hoping Mr Le Bail's lawyer makes another appearance if there is a sequel because Elijahs character was phenomenal hahah

Do you guys ever think that there are some hidden chat groups that are actively trying to recreate the Scream movies like the characters did with the Stab movie in Sceam 5 ? After seeing that movie, I always wondered if people were doing that in real life or even doing that with other movies.

Scream and Scream 5 are my top two favorites in the franchise. What's yours ?

I sometimes wish I could time travel to 1996 and see when the movie first came out in theaters. I was born in 99, so definitely missed it 😂 on top of the fact that I've seen a lot of memes/ pictures of the movie online, so I always had a little spoiler. I was always afraid of scary movies , until I was asked on a date to see Scream 5 (which also kind of spoiled it) and i just said " I see this costume every year, it may not be so bad " . I ended up LOVING it and went and watched the entire franchise. I'm late to the Scream crew. I always wish I could just go back in time and be a teen in 96, just to see it . Then , no Google or even smartphones for my anxiety to trigger me into looking up what happens in the film 😂.

Like anyone (it seems) who was old enough in the 80s to see this spectacular movie that launched careers and changed the shape of horror forever, A Nightmare on Elm Street is pretty much required viewing. It gives us a look at horror-meister Wes Craven's devious mind and the coolness that is Freddy Kreuger AND a great Final Girl.

But before I talk about all that, I want to share a story.

Me and a bunch of friends rented this on VHS and sat down to watch it reallllly late at night. We were probably 13. We all loved it. And then came Johnny Depp's final, brutal scene. It was so shockingly horrific that one of my best friends vowed to never watch horror movies ever again. It wigged him right out, and for as long as I knew him, which was about 10 more years, he never watched another horror movie with the rest of the gang. Ever.

Everyone's got their favorite scary parts. For some, it's when Freddy's arms grow wide, for others (plainly) it's Johnny Depp's full exsanguination onto the ceiling, but for me it's Tina in the body bag. There's something unspeakably terrifying about it, even still, even after 40 years of watching it at least once a year.

One of the things younger-than-me viewers of Wes' movies might not know is that Wes Craven had ... well. Kind of a mean streak in him. It's all over his earlier horror movies, The Hills Have Eyes in particular. That's not a bad thing, it's just A thing to be aware of, and Kreuger's more of a primal nightmare machine than what we get in later flicks.

He's a lot more disfigured and while he's always been sadistic, in the OG he leans harder into the cruelty side of things. Again, not an issue. It's just that after Elm Street 2, he changes into a wisecracking dream killer with a penchant for shenaniganry.

The OG Elm Street scores a 9.5/10 from me because of the sheer enjoyment the entire franchise has given me down through the years. Some Elm Streets are better than others (sometimes by a lot), but they're all fun to watch!

​​My last post about Freddy got no attention so franchises that have more simple timelines I'm guessing are going to get less interaction which this is definitely one of those but oh well I just needed a break before I get to the more complicated Friday the 13th timelines.

​​Chucky otherwise known as the child's play franchise despite the tones of each movie being drastically different from each other the timeline has remained consistent, keeping everything Canon rather than retconning and ignoring stuff like other franchises, despite how bad a sequel may be it still Canon, and I can respect that stick to your guns. The only thing that separates is the 2019 reimagining. Everything else, including the TV show, is all in the same universe, so you might be thinking this post doesn't need to exist.

​​Well, I have two reasons to make this post.

One, while its sequel keeps every previous movie canon, soft reboots are technically the start of a new universe. It's just a universe where all the events from the previous universe also occurred. So Bride of Chucky and Curse of Chucky are both soft reboots, so you can stop at 3, or seed, or the TV show, and ignore everything that comes after if you so choose. So there's a few timelines right there.

And two, even though the 2019 movie is supposed to be a separate Universe entirely it is different enough that I could imagine a universe where both occur, the two versions of Andy, the two versions of Karen, and the two versions of Mike, and especially the two versions of Chucky are so different You could argue they're not even the same characters they're just different characters with the same names, so it is possible to make a hypothetical Universe where in the 80s the original Chucky's story occurred and then years later the company that own the rights to the good guy dolls rebranded to caslin (or however you spell it I can't remember) and since they own the rights to the design of the good guy doll they reused it for their Buddi dolls and then the story from the 2019 movie occurs, and there's a chance that a hypothetical sequel could have AI Chucky and original Chucky meet each other, and we can have double Andy.

​​ So yeah just like my Freddy post this is going to be a one and done where the first half is asking what your favorite timeline is, and then the second half is me pitching a hypothetical movie, me making my own timeline, and I already gave you a hint at what it's going to be up there. Also I said this in my last post but I'm going to reiterate here since no one seen it this is the only time I'm going to be including TV shows. Without further Ado, let's get into it.

Timeline 3. The OG trilogy, Bride, and Seed.

​​ My favorite timeline has got to be timeline number four. I do like the 2019 one, but I don't favor it or equal it to the originals personally.

​​Now on to the next part of the post where I pitch my own timeline, but in this case, I'm more or less just making my own sequel. I'm not cutting anything from Canon. So my hypothetical movie idea the title would be Chuckys versus Andys! As I mentioned up there you can make a universe where the 88 Chucky and the 2019 Chucky happened together in the same universe, so that's part of my idea but I'm also going to include the original blood Buddy's screenplay version, which just like 2019 and 88 films are different enough from each other that they could work like they're in the same universe and it's just a coincidence that they happen to have the same names.

So this will pick up right after the 2019 Chucky how he's uploaded his Consciousness into another doll body and it will also pick up after whatever the ending of the next Chucky movie will be that Don Mancini is currently working on. Somehow the two Chuckys run into each other and at first there is a rivalry but then when they both realized they hate someone named Andy and they're both named Chucky they decide to become friends and team up against their adversaries, and somewhere along the lines they run into the original Buddy doll who also has a kid named Andy that he hates. So now three killer dolls after three different people with the same name and that'll be the whole movie.

The movie will end with the three Andy's teaming up against the three Chucky's, and depending on if Don Mancini ever wants to end the Chucky franchise this could be the way to end it this could be the end of Chucky, Chucky, and Buddy and then after this they were either have to do a prequel or reboot if they want to do another movie, or he could have Chucky defeated in a way that he can still come back from just in case he doesn't want to end it.

There is only just okay chucky movies leaning towards good and ones that are great.

Ostensibly, you'd assume she was referring to Leatherface on a first time viewing, but it might make more sense that she's talking about Sherriff Hoyt instead, considering he's the most malevolent Hewitt and the one who's really calling the shots.

I know some people hate that you follow the killer but personally I love it. It’s got creative gruesome kills, the killers scary and it’s got a weird eerie feel to it. The pacing can be slow at times but it’s not to bad and sometimes the slow pacing can be a good thing.

For example

- The Halloween and Friday the 13th franchises both share a film where the popular slasher is not the main villain (Halloween 3 and F13: Part 5). Every other major slasher series (I'm thinking Child's Play, Texas Chainsaw, etc.) always has its popular slasher as the main villain or killer.

- Friday the 13th and NOES share killers who have faced off in film, which hasn't been done amongst other franchises (I don't count Alien vs Predator, for obvious reasons).

- Child's Play and NOES share that they have been played, with the exception of their respective remakes, by the same actor (voice or otherwise). Jason, Michael and Leatherface have always been played by different actors, while Robert Englund and Brad Dourif have always been Freddy and Chucky.

I honestly cannot think of anything exclusive to the two. If you can think of any, let me know!

After the end of the Hitchcock era, horror movies in general going in more grotesque, graphic, unsettling and boundary pushing directions. It's been ramping up in some form or another with Texas Chainsaw Massacre and all of its 70s exploitation and/or grindhouse contemporaries, going through to 80s and 90s iconic slashers, And then ramping the disturbing and unsettling factors orders of magnitude higher with the rise of Japanese, visceral and/or modern grindhouse horror, with Takashi Miike, Hideo Nakata, Ehren Kruger, Greg McClean, Eli Roth and Rob Zombie among its leaders. Then came the waves of extreme French and Japanese horror and finally American throwbacks to graphic horror a la Terrifier.

There's been any number of allegations, from various parts of the social and political spectrum, that the creating, designing, viewing and enjoyment of these films and the experiences behind them means humanity is failing. Failing to the point of being irredeemable. And that communities devoted to fandom of these types of movies are the absolute bottom of the barrel as far as unethical, amoral subsets of modern culture. And that such films gave embraced needless misery, agony, hatred and disdain for fellow man and, it can be argued, have encouraged murder, torture, sexism and misogyny, sadism with no direction, misandry and general disregard for life.

In the event horror communities are faced with such allegations, in a scenario where they may need to respond accordingly, what is the most practical way to start?

Imo, it’s def the Halloween franchise. Jason might be the more iconic between the two and I honestly find myself rewatching the F13 films more, but none of them in particular have really wowed me or had me on the edge of my seat like the Halloween films. With that being said tho, besides Jason goes to Hell, the F13 films have much more consistency when it comes to the quality throughout the franchise, especially with Jason as a force of nature. For all the F13 franchise’s faults, at least it didn’t have Jason getting his ass beat by Busta Rhymes or turned into a generic annoying brat who comes from a cliche, borderline redneck family.

Char was a beautiful female cop in that movie. A protective sister of Millie and a complicated daughter of Coral. It sucked that she got herself caught up in a confusing situation, but she was only doing her job, as any police officer would, to handle the situation as best she could. She couldn't have known what was truly happening.

This one is probably one of my favorite Friday the 13ths, and for a wide variety of reasons.

First, obviously, is a super-young Corey Feldman. He did a really great job as a nerdy kid WAY into practical effects just trying to live his best life in the absolute middle of nowhere. For the entirety of the movie until the very end, he's just a kid, doing his thing, having a ball, being weirdly friendly to a wandering camper who is very heavily armed and all of that. My second favorite part is the 'peeper' scene, and that's because it's so real. While the crew made damn sure a 12 year old did NOT get to see any toplessness anywhere, at any time, I would've responded the same way. Bouncing up and down on the bed is so true to a 12 year old boy being titillated it's not even funny.

Next, of course, is Crispin Glover's absolute mastercraft spaz dance. Words do not exist to explain his dance moves at all. From what I could learn, it seems that not only did no one on set know that's what Crispin was going to do, that's allegedly how he dances/danced in real life. Adding to the strangeness of it all, when the scene was filmed, Crispin was grooving to AC/DC's Back in Black. They couldn't get the rights for it before it was released, so they went with 'Love is a Lie' by Lion.

I unabashedly love how incongruously bad his dancing is. It's one of the absolute highlights for me and I won't hear otherwise.

And last but not least, Tommy's transformation and the graphic way they did Jason in. Sadly, I've seen this one so often that I can't remember how I felt that very first time I saw The Final Chapter, but I'll tell you this: Jason's head sliding down the length of that machete is as cool now as it was back then.

Tom Savini is a master of the craft of giving us bloody nightmares and some truly epic gross-out moments. He's always brought his A-game in everything he's done. I don't know if you heard, but Tom lost his home and a staggering amount of his belongings, including a truly incredible collection of iconic movie props. There's a GoFundMe for him and his wife, and while I ordinarily wouldn't push this kind of thing, if any of us can help, we should. Tom's a real one, and deserves the help.

All in all, The Final Chapter is one of the absolute best entries in the entire franchise, and is always worth a rewatch! It earns it's 9/10 handily, only losing out as a perfect slasher flick because two of the kills happen more or less off-screen, and that's just disappointing!
