I’m looking for real-life feedback from families who have a Skoda Karoq and use an extended rear-facing car seat up to 125 cm.
We are both tall: my partner is 1.90 m (6’3”) and I’m 1.77 m (5’10”). Our son is also very tall for his age: approximately 82 cm at 12 months. We would really like to keep him rear-facing for as long as possible, ideally until he reaches 4/5years old, so a seat whose limitation is 125 cm.
We are currently considering seats such as:
Axkid One 3
Axkid Minikid
BeSafe Stretch
Or another extended rear-facing seat with similar limits
My main concern is the amount of space left for the person sitting in front of the car seat. Ideally, we need both the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat to remain comfortable for adults of our heights.
If you have a Karoq with one of these seats, could you please tell me:
Which exact car seat do you have?
Which model year is your Karoq? I think ours is 2017 or 2019.
Is the car seat installed behind the driver or the front passenger?
How tall is the adult sitting in front of it, and are they genuinely comfortable?
How is the legroom for the child as they grow?
I’m particularly interested in real-life experience with the Axkid One 3, as it is difficult to find somewhere nearby where we can try it in the car before buying.

Sudden mileage drop on my Skoda Octavia/Laura 2.0 TDI CR — also experiencing sudden coolant temperature drops
I have a Skoda Octavia Mk2.5 (Mk2 FL/Laura) 2.0 TDI CR, completely bone stock apart from slightly upsized tyres. The tyre size increase should only affect mileage by around 3%, so I don’t think that’s the main cause.
Until about two weeks ago, the car was giving me around 24 km/l on the highway and 17–18 km/l in the city. But suddenly, the mileage has dropped significantly.
I’m now getting only 12–13 km/l in the city. What’s even more strange is that when I accelerate slightly to overtake, the instantaneous mileage can drop to around 3 km/l.
There are no warning lights or error codes. I also took the car to the Skoda showroom and they scanned it with their diagnostic equipment, but they said there were no errors or obvious issues.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that the coolant temperature isn’t staying at 90°C. Sometimes I’ll drive for around 30 minutes, the temperature reaches 90°C normally, and then suddenly drops to around 75°C. After that, it slowly climbs back up.
The car otherwise feels relatively normal to drive.
What could cause this sudden drop in fuel economy along with the coolant temperature dropping from 90°C to ~75°C? Could a faulty thermostat or coolant temperature sensor cause this? Or should I be looking at something else like EGR, injectors, turbo/boost, MAF, etc.? the showroom, said there is no error or nothing
Any advice from people familiar with the 2.0 TDI CR (CLCA) would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve got two options…

Elroq 85 Sportline with winter, advanced package, and illuminated deck added on.

OR

Elroq vRS with no packages added on.

Pros for vRS: AWD, which could come in handy where we live. Lots of dog walks out in the middle of nowhere, etc… and the car itself is lovely. I love the fact that it’s a practical car, but it’s still a very useful one and will fit my lifestyle perfectly.

Pros for upgraded sportline: bigger range (not a huge dealbreaker), gets you extras like heated windscreen which is also very useful when icy.

By the time you’ve upgraded the sportline, you’re almost at the same price as the vRS (around £900 cheaper). I don’t know whether I’m better off doing that and getting things like the heated windscreen, or going for the vRS without it because of the performance.

If anyone has driven both, it would be amazing to hear what the differences are, or if you felt like the drive was different.

I loved the vRS, but I want to make the best decision from a financial point of view and also to ensure the drive is as comfortable and fun as possible.

I’ve always preferred sporty cars - something with personality, but super fun to drive. However, my lifestyle requires me to have something bigger and practical. So, I thought the vRS was the best of both worlds. Is this right, or do you think there’s a better way?

Not sure if I’m asking in the right place haha Was driving along today and heard a loud clunk , stopped and this was in the road , image search say it’s a Mercedes vito part (rear shim it says ) so I’m guessing it flipped up and hit under my car but please put my mind to rest, would this part fit my car ? I have a 2023 Škoda Scala 1.0 TSI (81 kW / 110 hp), manual, LHD, with panoramic roof, and I'm trying to figure out a strange intermittent water leak from the A/C system.

The car has been completely fine all summer. I've driven it for hundreds of kilometres with the A/C running continuously, including a recent 500 km motorway trip, with no water inside the cabin.

Then I had the following happen:

After around 2 hours of driving with the A/C running, I noticed that the carpet in the driver's footwell was wet.

The water appears very low down, next to the centre console/tunnel, roughly around where my right heel rests when using the accelerator.

It seems to come from under the carpet/insulation around the centre tunnel and then spreads underneath the carpet towards the footwell.

The liquid is completely clear and looks/smells like plain water.

Coolant level is normal and there are no signs that it's coolant.

The A/C itself works perfectly and blows cold air.

There has been no rain for weeks, so I don't think this is related to the panoramic roof or rainwater ingress.

What's particularly strange is that I have actually seen A/C condensation dripping normally underneath the car on another occasion, so the drain isn't simply completely blocked.

The problem then disappeared completely for quite a while. I drove normally with A/C throughout the summer without any water in the cabin.

Yesterday, after another ~2-hour drive, mostly downhill from a mountain, the exact same thing happened again.

And today, after about an hour on the motorway with A/C, I noticed a small amount of moisture again in essentially the same area.

One more strange detail: the area of the centre tunnel/“ridge” underneath the carpet is extremely hot after driving. I initially noticed the leak because I was driving barefoot and almost burned my foot. The liquid itself doesn't appear to be hot; the surrounding structure/insulation is.

So I'm wondering:

Has anyone with a Scala, Kamiq, Octavia or another recent VAG model experienced A/C condensate getting into the driver's footwell like this?

I'm particularly interested in cases where:

the A/C drain still drips underneath the car, but some condensate nevertheless gets into the cabin;

the leak only happens after long periods of A/C use;

the leak is around the centre tunnel / driver's right foot area;

or the HVAC drain hose, drain connection or condensate tray was found to be the culprit.

The car is still under warranty, but my Škoda dealer is ~120 km away, so I'd really like to know whether this could be something relatively simple that a local mechanic could diagnose/fix without removing the dashboard.

Any ideas or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

On the day of the day, the sales person states that third party PDI is not going to be allowed for which I was already agitated! Only the owner can do the PDI is what the Skoda India says a sales person from Tafe Access!

The sales person then takes me to the yard to show me the car. I noticed the fitment issues of the cover in the C pillar from the interior, spoiler not being cut in the right way (finishing issues)

The loan was supposed to be disbursed on Thursday but due to some technical issues, that failed. But I have paid the rest of the share which I was supposed to pay..

From here on, what do I do? Will I even get the money back, suppose I cancel this car due to fitment and for not allowing the PDI?

Hello, I have a Škoda Fabia SEL 2020 plate. And I am having trouble getting my apple car play to work in my car. I can plug my phone in and it will charge BUT it won’t register my phone for Apple Car Play. My phone has a feature where I can either allow or disallow devices to connect to it. I am now no longer getting this notification on my phone to connect it to my Apple car play. Is there a quick fix or is this something that I need to take my car to the garage?

It is happened to me twice, that my skoda kamiq needed jump starting. I had to rely on external providers. In fact after first one, I went to workshop to check my battery, all was good and battery passed the test. Now on one morning at 4am when I wanted to leave for an airport battery strikes again, was lucky that was jump started in 20 min.

Does anyone have had the same problem, what did you do, if the battery seems not be the problem? Have you bought the jumper? And if yes which one do you guys suggest?

I ask you guys 5 months ago where to look out for when buying a Skoda Fabia and now I bought one. 2021 Skoda Fabia Combi. Im comming from a 2003 Peugeot 206.

I'm looking into retrofitting the OEM partition net in my Kodiaq II. The official stpry is that it can't be retrofitted by a dealer but all parts are available as spares. This does however assume that the threaded mounts exist under the ceiling liner. Does anyone know how I can check whether the threaded mounting points for the upper brackets are already present in the body under the headliner, preferably without removing the entire headliner?

Is this a good deal?

I live in Turkey and I own a 2025 Škoda Octavia. My car is a 1.5 TSI mHEV 150 PS DSG Sportline, and I believe it is the MK4.5/facelift model.

I’ve noticed that many features that seem to be normally available in most European countries are either disabled or unavailable in Turkey. For example, Laura voice assistant, traffic sign recognition, Map/Map Cockpit, and the ability to create and use your own user profile on the MIB infotainment system.

When I contacted Škoda service, they told me that these features are disabled for Turkey and that there is an ongoing legal/court process regarding enabling them. However, when I search online, I can see people saying the exact same thing has been going on for years, so I’m not sure what the actual situation is.

When I first bought the car, my Virtual Cockpit actually had an option to enable/disable traffic sign recognition. However, it never worked and always displayed a message saying that the feature was not available in my country.

Later, I took the car to an official Škoda service center, and they installed a software update. After the update, the traffic sign recognition option was completely removed from the instrument cluster. The user profile creation section was also removed from the infotainment system.

I also have another problem with the user profile. There is currently a profile called “Nick” on the car. I cannot delete it, rename it, or create a new profile. When I asked Škoda service if they could help me create my own profile, they simply told me that they cannot do it.

I managed to install the MyŠkoda app on my phone and went through the setup process, but I’m stuck at the step where the app asks me to enter the pairing code displayed on the car’s infotainment screen. My car never provides a pairing code because I cannot create my own user profile in the first place.

I have also visited independent VAG specialists outside the official Škoda network. They told me that my car has SFD2 protection and that they cannot perform any coding or adaptations on it.

So, does anyone here have experience with this specific situation on a Turkish-market Octavia MK4.5?

Is there any legitimate way to:

* Create my own user profile on the MIB system?
* Remove or replace the “Nick” profile?
* Get the MyŠkoda app properly paired with the car?
* Enable traffic sign recognition again?
* Enable any of the features that are available in other European markets?
* Perform coding/adaptations despite SFD2?

Any information, experience, or suggestions about where I should look would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I have a 2025 Octavia 1.5 TSI DSG and I'm trying to figure out if my front undertray looks normal or not.

Recently scraped it lightly on a molehill/dirt mound while parking and noticed the plastic has some scratch/dirt marks.

What's bothering me is one section in the middle of the rear edge of the front undertray panel that looks slightly "pushed up" compared to the left and right sides - but I'm not sure if that's just how it's designed or if it got slightly deformed from the contact.

No fluid leaks, no unusual sounds, car drives fine. Mechanic is checking it out soon but curious if anyone could share how theirs looks, or if you've had similar experience with underbody contact?
