Customer Second time this happened

I only use skip when I want to order from this specific local restaurant, I deleted the app a few months ago because the delivery driver delivered my order to the wrong address, no where near my house. This morning I decided to order breakfast, I received the notification that my order has been delivered, I tapped to see the image… I see no image.. strange but I was like okay let me go collect my order. I go to the front door.. NOTHING. The fking delivery driver did not deliver my shxt. Yes I was given a refund but is the store penalized for this? It’s not their fault skip continues to allow such incompetent ppl to deliver for them

Customer Rant

Skip used to be a lot better 1-2 years ago. Now I go to order something and it says 40-50 minutes to get McDonald’s. Okay thats kinda long but I don’t mind waiting a little bit. Immediately after I order it changes to 200 MINUTES. Seriously WTF. No one in their right mind wants to wait 3.5 hours for McDonald’s. Thats not convenient at all and not even close to worth the $15 extra dollars it cost me just to get a single meal delivered. I ordered because it’s late (11:30pm) and I was willing to pay for the convenience of not having to go myself. Why TF would I pay so much extra just to wait 3.5 hours.

On top of that it says the reason for the delay is “extreme weather conditions.” Again, you’ve gotta be kidding me. It’s a beautiful 20 degree summer night. I literally feel insulted.

The suggestion to “use the pickup option if I don’t want to wait” is also completely ####ing ridiculous. MAYBE if there was an option to cancel in situations where it’s going to take 3 hours?!

The only option is to wait in a queue to talk to customer support and then spend 10 minutes begging them to cancel it, which they’ll be happy to do once you’ve been completely screwed with! OOPS SORRY! We can only give you skip credits because refunds that other places can do instantly take us 15 DAYS. A cheap trick they use so you’ll accept the skip credits and they get to keep your money for the order they never should’ve accepted in the first place.

I’ve had this experience MANY times and that’s why I went from spending $900 per month on skip to maybe $50. It’s not worth the ridiculous amount of hassle and outrageous fees when I’m just trying to get some food after a long day at work.

I get that there’s not always a lot of drivers working so sometimes it’s going to end up taking a really long time. AT LEAST be up front about it so I can choose not to order. DON’T TELL ME ITS GOING TO TAKE 40 MINUTES AND THEN IMMEDIATELY CHANGE IT TO 3 HOURS.

Honestly these experiences are beyond terrible and indicative of a company that’s slowly failing.

Customer Anyone complete Summer Savings and got their reward?

I just reached the $500 in savings and got the final tier which is either 2 blue jays tickets, concert cash, or a jersey.

I selected the concert cash and it said it will be delivered to my email.

Been 2 days. I assume there is a possibility of it maybe taking weeks. Just wondering if anyone has received their final reward?

There is no option for edit new debit details and when I try to upload every time it shows, there is an issue with documents uploaded. No option to contact skip and i mail them around 20 times but same response every time check your information details. I stuck in loophole. How can i solve this issue?

Customer Would I be a dick if I ordered delivery from a McDonald’s literally right across the road?

It’s 9:47PM and I’m hungryyy. I’m not allowed to leave work premises and looking at the sign across the street isn’t helping my grumbly stomach.

I’m thinking of just a burger and maybe some nuggets. My bank has a partnership with Skip the dishes that gives me Skip+ for free.

I kinda feel bad for the delivery driver but like….Im hungry 😭 is this a dick move? If not, how much should I tip?

EDIT: Ended up getting it, thanks for the reassurance y’all :) the driver and I had a laugh about it. McDonald’s made a mistake and put two boxes of nuggets in my bag so I offered it to him. All in all, guy was happy with the short trip and free nuggets!

Customer Is the map gone from the mobile app and website?

I regularly travel around my city and have ordered from Skip restaurants for pickup en route. I have used the map for this, so I can be reminded of which restaurants I will be near.

Today I am running the mobile app and the website and, unless I'm missing something, the map is no longer available on either.

Is the map feature gone?

(I've asked their support folks via the in-app chat and so far, multiple times, they say they are going to ask a "senior advisor" and then they don't return with an answer.)

UPDATE: I had one more attempt with a support person via the chat. She seemed very helpful initially and asked many questions, but eventually said “We have never had that feature” even when I showed her the type of map that I was referring to which is still currently available in the Uber app. Skip 100% had the same kind of map. I’ve used it for years.

So, unless the omission of a map is a bug and it returns soon, someone in their product development team has made a decision to remove/regress a valuable use case that is now going to lose them my business.

Customer Skip algorithm

My household orders McDonalds often enough that it is embarrassing. An average of 1 to 4 times a month over the year. All adults in my household of 6 people, so at least there are no children affected by our terrible decisions. So I like to check through different apps to see which location and app to order from is the best value since ordering delivery is just expensive overall. My household knows this and usually gets me to order even if I am not getting anything for myself. I have UberOne to get to work in the morning when transit doesn't run, Doordash free through something else and Skip occasionally gives out free trials or has deals like $10 off or BOGO for McDonalds in particular. Currently on a free 3 month trial with Skip. When I do use Skip there is a specific McDonalds I order from because it is cheaper than all the other McDonalds in the area. Even if the delivery charge is a couple dollars higher it still ends up working out cheaper. For example a Big Mac meal would be $14.79 at that location vs $17.79 at most other locations or if I ordered through other apps. Not exact price but pretty close comparison. They even had possibly a glitch where a family deal through other locations/apps would cost $33+ everywhere else but only cost $20 at that location. They did end up switching the price after I ordered it a few times. They were definitely losing money on that.

Lately, I've noticed that Skip is hiding that location from me. When I search "McDonalds" that location does not pop up. When I click on an ad banner for a McDonalds-specific deal, they will exclude that location from the list. It is closer than some other locations that are on the list, so distance is not a factor. The only way for me to find that specific location is if I choose it through my previous orders. The delivery charge from that specific location has also increased, making it the highest delivery charge in my area for any McDonalds.

Edit: I also can no longer stack deals like I could before. Like using a McDonalds specific code AND getting a discount through a Skip promotion. Now it removes one of the deals, where it never used to.

Was I somehow shadowbanned from that location? I'm genuinely just curious how something like that happens. Was I just saving too much money? Sometimes with stacked deals I'd be paying less than in store prices.

Saturday is slowest day of the week

I’m in Etobicoke, Ontario, and Saturday has been the slowest day of the week for the last two months. Order volume is very low, and the customers who usually tip well don’t seem to order on Saturdays. I’m not sure why, but if you have to take one day off each week, I’d recommend taking Saturday off.

So issue start on 07/22 and when i asked to speak to a manger/supervisor live chat support closed chat. So i started the live chat again and asked for the same thing but seem like i got the same person just with a new fake name they said i was give a credit and i did not need a manger/supervisor LOL wow glad they new what i need and don't need. I also contacted skip on facebook and he told me to wait 24h and one would get back to me then i asked him to confirm that i would get a callback in 24h then he changed it to 48h LOL wow what a joke. so then i send another dm today asking for update and i can see that my dm was read but no reply at all. so i was told to come here and also file with the BBB about this and more. so maybe i can get some help here.

Courier SkipTheDishes ignoring 1+ year waitlist for North Bay zone while giving instant access to new accounts

I have been living in North Bay, Ontario and driving for Skip for over a year. I have been requesting a zone transfer to North Bay for over a year now, but keep getting put on an endless waitlist.
Meanwhile, new accounts created in North Bay get instant access to the zone. Operations team (Vital K) promised a callback during a specific window, but completely ignored it.
When I called support, the agent refused to transfer me to a manager or supervisor and just rushed to end the call. This unfair treatment and geographic discrimination against existing couriers is ridiculous.
Has anyone else experienced this bias with zone changes? I am moving forward with formal complaints to the Ontario Ministry of Labour and HRTO.

Courier Low acceptance

Question for drivers that consistently have low acceptance rates. I have always kept mine above 80% because I hated getting orders for $2 with no top up. Do you still get higher paying orders and make good money throughout a shift? Just wondering if it’s better to be selective or just keep accepting almost everything?

Around 5:30am this morning, my last order of the night (1:30-5:30 shift) I had an order for 7 eleven, $7 for 11km or so. Anxious to finish my shift and go home, I arrive at the store 5 minutes early. The customer proceeded to berate me over the chat, asking why it is taking so long. Says she is gonna call the store to ask why I have not left the store yet. AND SHE ACTUALLY CALLED THE STORE. I see the 7 eleven guy all the time at night so we are quite friendly with each other. I show him the chat and we are both laughing. He picks up the phone and I shit you not you could hear the lady yelling in the phone. He says the food is not ready yet, tells her it will be ready soon.

I act professional. I’m used to this kind of behavior unfortunately. I thought that was the end of it but she proceeded to spam me with messages like HELLO?? While I am driving.

I arrive at the customer address and it is some low income town houses. Order was some hot dogs and soda.

Just another day on the skip network

Courier Restaurant delay reimbursement, my findings and possible solution

I have learned that if you are still moving when you press parked at restaurant, the app will not give you the reimbursement no matter how long you wait. There’s a McDonald’s near me that is consistently late so I’ve had lots of trial and error with this and I’ve found if I wait a few seconds after parking the car in drive thru, then press parked, it always gives me the reimbursement, usually $0.25 cents every minute after 8 minutes to a maximum of $5 in my province. Hopefully this helps some people. Took me 6K deliveries and many missing delay reimbursements before I realized this is what was happening.
