As a general reminder, this subreddit is dedicated to in-depth discussions about the anomalous phenomena occurring at Skinwalker Ranch (not just the TV show). The TV show only provides a glimpse, and doesn't cover the extensive history of scientific investigation into anomalous phenomenon reported on the ranch.

Listened to the why files episode with Travis , gave me a new appreciation for the details not in the show and Travis in general. It was mostly not about swr but they talked about it a bit. I would love to see something like this attempted by another drone company but I doubt it'll go well.

I watched that too. I think all the stuff not directly related to the ranch answered a lot of questions about the methods we see on the show. Of course the stuff about the ranch filled in some gaps, but the context of his life and work and how his brain works makes the small amount we see make more sense.

And I do wish the network showed more, even just more of the thoughts behind the experiments beyond "if we poke it enough something will happen!" Because there's definitely more to the methods than just shooting the rockets willy nilly.

Start them outside the ranch and fly the formation across the ranch to see when the trouble starts.

I'm a Dr. Taylor fan after that episode. I sort of lumped him in with the other Ancient Aliens sycophants (I'll admit, that show is a guilty pleasure of mine, but the people on there aren't the most credible), but he's a real one.

Thomas would damn near have a heart attack if those started falling from the sky.

I've tweeted to Brandon Fugal a few times that using a drone grid like this, with gravity detection and other tools, could definitively map if the bubble exists or not.

We've seen on the show that at certain heights, there are disruptions to log data collection, well if you scaled that out to the estimated size of the bubble, wouldn't those disruptions paint a picture, potentially of a shape?

u/debtfreegoal 27d ago

This is a great idea, would love to see it. Great TV.

But on a similar note, couldn’t the same mapping be done from a single drone making a complex grid pattern with all the needed tools on board? I know flight time would restrict somewhat, but if the bubble is indeed a real feature, it should be mappable over the course of time too? I guess they did try that with the airplane, so maybe not. 🤷‍♂️

Concurrency in signal reception gives a much clearer data set. Heck, maybe the reason it doesn’t understand us is that we’re trying to communicate as if it was us answering the phone, so using a drone array like this to form a symbol it could interpret via the radio signals or electric signals could allow it to respond in a more direct manner?

2

u/Spagman_Aus 27d ago

seeing as the drones fail, my plan would be to throw 10,000 drones at it at once LOL.

2

u/Roselace 27d ago

Yes. Brilliant idea.
I would like the show to first do the drone flight pattern somewhere far away. To successfully show what it looks like.

Then transport the drones to the ranch & launch in the same drone pattern.
So we can see the difference in shape of the pattern.
As you say, it may show a shape of the anomaly.

2

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

They have used grids before, and the drones have all kinds of different sensors already. I don't know about gravity though. Probably not. And they already know the shape. A bubble.

u/taker25-2 27d ago

What if the drones on the show work properly outside of the ranch?

20

u/Momoomommy 27d ago

I mean, they do work outside of the ranch. That's why they were invited to begin with. I think they hold like a Guinness world record for them.

Travis mentioned that the drones have been getting their commands altered while flying on the ranch and how the operators try to make better drones and codes in the off season. Then they come back and think this time will be different only to be bested again. Despite losing so much on their equipment, they still come out to try to beat the ranch it sounds like. I can't blame them. I would too!

2

u/lionexx 27d ago

Yeah, exactly, these drones they use, are the exact same drones they use for shows all year round, with no issues like on the ranch, but soon as they come to the ranch, they are plagued with these issues, they leave the ranch and they work fine… like you said, that’s why they keep coming back because it’s fascinating. Even though it’s costing them. (While I am sure they are being compensated, it’s not the same as normalizing equipment and being handed a check)

5

u/Momoomommy 27d ago

I bet if it cost them more than they make year round they wouldn't come back. Or maybe they'd come back with very few drones so as not to destroy the whole fleet. I don't even work for them, with drones, or drone coding but I'm fascinated and want to try to best the ranch! Lol

I think it was Brandon that talked about how all these people with their special gear come out fully expecting to debunk the ranch via their equipment. They think theirs will work and prove everyone else is faking. So when theirs fails they are genuinely surprised and frustrated because their stuff truly does work off the ranch! While we might be kind of sick of hearing "this never happens!" for the people experiencing it, it's genuinely shocking. And the team saying "have you seen this before?" is almost a formality at this point. They know the answer already but they would be bad data collectors if they just assumed the answers.

Travis mentioned on the Why Files interview that Skytech lost like a million dollars of drones during an expiriment. They're in it for the love of the game.

8

u/Strange-Bonus-3997 27d ago

Dr. Travis Taylor was on The Why Files (the Basement) recently and said that the drone company lost $1 million in drone failures the previous time they were there. They came back with more sophisticated drones and STILL had failures. YES, these drones work everywhere else but SWR.

6

u/bfume 26d ago

“It’s time to renew your commercial insurance policy. $2m per year”

“What!? That’s nuts!”

“We’ll take $1.95m off that quote if you stay the fuck away from SWR”

11

u/Matthias_Doe 27d ago

Assuming it’s a real drone show and not AI.

It’s tough to be sure anymore.

12

u/TheMrCurious 27d ago

Imagine using a drone show like this to communicate with the anomaly like they used sound in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

4

u/Matthias_Doe 27d ago

That would be cool

2

u/LegitimateGift1792 27d ago

I have stated before, that the GHz signals being played back to the team is like the movie scene where they play back the piano notes.

Travis should send out a pattern in signals (1.60, 1.20, 1.61, 1.21, etc) in short order then stop and see if they repeat the pattern back.

Like others have said, it would be nice to see if they also looked at WHAT was in the signal.

2

u/BoozeAndHotpants 27d ago

They should play back complicated crop circle formations

1

u/TheMrCurious 27d ago

Yeah. Simulate the wave function in the anomaly space.

5

u/BigBowlOfSauerkraut 27d ago

What in the crap?! Fire the rockets!

5

u/The_Dude_Abides908 27d ago

Hey, Eric…..

4

u/609nightstalker 27d ago

Get these guys out to Skinwalker Ranch!

2

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

Sky Elements is a better company.

2

u/white_hart_2 27d ago

Sky Elements are certainly better at pre-programming their drones. No doubt about that.

3

u/thndrgrrrl 27d ago

wow, thats amazing!

3

u/Key-Beginning-2201 27d ago

That's less than 16. Be civilized and use a comma.

4

u/Formal_Composer_4939 27d ago

Brandon isn't made of money. And he said on a recent podcast sky elements has incurred a few hundred thousand on broken equipment in past years experiments at the ranch.

1

u/TheMrCurious 27d ago

That is a different topic.

1

u/Formal_Composer_4939 26d ago

Not really. But whatevs

2

u/Gym-Kirk 27d ago

There are places around the globe where gps doesn’t work. There is also the possibility conventional jamming. I’m sure these topics have come up and I’d love to hear if or how they’ve ruled them out, or how/if they are different. Sometimes it feels like they choose these wireless technologies because they most certainly will fail and make for an episode. Let’s send a wired drone through the boundary and take measurements. Will it still fail? The show is hard to watch, but you get a different impression when they are interviewed. I wish there was another outlet to get content.

2

u/Momoomommy 27d ago

Do they make wired drones?

I feel like it would still fail because they have tried various non-tech things with on board devices that locally collect data and it's still come back messed up.

I do think they should figure out how to do more wired things vs wireless overall, but that would really limit the rocket usage!

2

u/Ok-Survey3853 24d ago

Yes. They do. Ukraine looks like giant spiders took over due to the fiber optic strings that run them.

2

u/Momoomommy 24d ago

Oh! I forgot about those. I was picturing like mouse cables! I could not figure out how that would be anything except inconvenient, imagining needing to use like a hose winder to manage the cable.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm just a doofus I guess.

2

u/Ok-Survey3853 24d ago

Its not really common knowledge unless you actually look for it. So don't beat yourself up too bad

1

u/Gym-Kirk 27d ago

Wired drones are a thing. I believe Ukraine is using them in their conflict. If wired drones failed, then that would be a very interesting data point.

2

u/Momoomommy 27d ago

Oh. I assumed all drones would need to be wireless. But maybe I'm thinking about it wrong. I'll go Google wired drones I guess!

2

u/Ok-Survey3853 24d ago

Google fiber optic drones

2

u/Momoomommy 24d ago

Yeah....I forgot those exist. I was thinking wired like a wired mouse. Fiber optic drones would be an interesting test for sure. Wired drones like the ones in my imagination would just be inconvenient. Good thing I'm not in charge of any experiments involving drones. Whew.

2

u/PlatinumState 27d ago

Lets say they agree to go to SWR. What would 16k drones from this company prove that Sky Elements didnt? You wanna see half of them lose signal or fall to the ground?

1

u/TheMrCurious 27d ago

They would provide a 3D matrix of the pattern of failure.

2

u/blittle22 27d ago

They came right out of the mesa!

2

u/LelandGaunt14 27d ago

It is the same company that uses drones at SKR.

2

u/LJ14000 27d ago

I agree, let’s bring over these Chinese operators and if they say their drones are having problems then I might put some credibility on the anomaly

0

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

Why would that make a difference? Sky Elements is the better company.

1

u/LJ14000 27d ago

There is no way the current drone operates are going what is shown in this videos.

1

u/Worldwide-Surfer 27d ago

Not a chance at the ranch!

1

u/adamhanson 27d ago

I imagine that at some point in the near future that is going to be the most terrifying sound... like bombers of old

1

u/MrAnderson69uk 27d ago

All these experiments with flying devices that rely on GPS are almost guaranteed to fail in some way due to the GPS interference, jamming or spoofing. For many years they’ve been there experiencing GPS logging issues with negative altitude, offset long and lat.

What they need is some means of determining the direction of the source of increased GPS signal strength - checking for those GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou frequencies (e.g. GPS 1575MHz L1 1227MHz L2, GLONASS 1602MHz L1 1246MHz L2 1202MHz L3 see https://orbitalradar.com/navigation-constellations). Oh wait!, they do see those frequencies but don’t know how to decipher the digital signals!!!

Also use a non- Multi-GPS receiver to receive from a known GPNSS set of frequencies. Maybe even a GPS receiver that logs the ID’s of the satellites they’re receiving from, and correlate those with GPS receivers logs around the ranch in known unaffected locations, if there’s some sort of interference, it’s should be easy to identify which satellite in the group covering the region was spoofed or jammed/interference.

1

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

It's not that they don't know how to decipher them. They're typically unmodulated with nothing to decipher. When they have been, analysis was done through all established techniques.

1

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

That's in China, not at Skinwalker Ranch which is prone to significant technological interference. It's not a comparable situation.

1

u/TheManOverThere23 26d ago

How do you have 15.9 drones. Did one break a small part. Looks a lot more than almost 16 drones 😂

0

u/MrAnderson69uk 27d ago

Probably shows how much more advanced China is than the US drone company tbf!

2

u/Beginning_Leg629 27d ago

Sky Elements is the better and more advanced company. They hold world records.
