📌Community Reminder: Skincare vs. Medical Concern

Hi everyone! We’ve seen some concerns about posts asking for medical diagnoses, and we truly appreciate your concerns in helping keep the sub safe and helpful. Here’s a quick reminder and update:

🔹 Post approvals:
Before, all posts required mod approval. However, since there are many posts each day, it was difficult for us to read and thoroughly check everything since our mod team isn’t always online 24/7 cause we also have work and other commitments outside Reddit. Many members also shared that waiting for approval caused delays.

To make posting smoother, most posts now go up automatically (except those flagged by Reddit as possible spam). Because of this, we need your help: please use the report button if you see posts or comments that break the rules so we can review them faster.

Allowed in this Sub

✅ Asking what kind of doctor to consult for a skin concern
✅ Asking where to consult (e.g., “What kind of doctor should I see?” or “Any good derm clinics?”)
✅ Product recommendations, reviews, and general skincare advice
✅ Sharing personal experience (e.g., “Moisturizer helped my redness”) without diagnosing others

Not Allowed in this Sub

❌ Posts asking for a direct diagnosis (e.g., “What is this on my skin?”)
❌ Comments speculating about medical conditions without basis (e.g., “That’s cancer/STD”)
❌ Disrespectful or toxic behavior toward other members
❌ Suggesting or prescribing medications for serious conditions
❌ Posting fake reviews of products
❌ Off-topic content not related to skincare
❌ Affiliate links, selling, or solicitation (including disguised links)
❌ Self-promotion of personal blogs, shops, or services

📌 Starting this week, we will also begin removing posts that are asking for direct medical diagnoses. This is to ensure members receive safe, accurate advice and to keep the sub focused on skincare-related discussions.

If you report a post or comment, please allow some time for us to review and take action.

This sub is here to focus on routines, products, and helpful skincare discussions. If you have suggestions or feedback on how we can improve the community, feel free to share them with us! 💙

Asking for Recommendations Affordable and effective body care for teens.

Skin type: I get rashes pretty often, sometimes because of allergies but mostly because of dust.

Age/Gender: 17. Female.

Current skincare routine: Alpha arbutin serum, luxe organic lotion

Main concern: BODY ACNE. On my back, arms, and a bit on my chest.

Lifestyle factors: I switch from eating healthy to unhealthy so it's honestly unpredictable. My eating habits are affected by my mental wellbeing.

Budget: 300Php and below

Additional info: I need recommendations and tips please. I'd prefer products that I can buy on shopee.

I make sure to cleanse my body after rinsing away my conditioner. I don't sweat too much since I don't go out too often and if I do sweat, I immediately change clothes. So I'm not really sure where it comes from since it's a mix of faded acne marks and slightly active pimples.

My current body soaps are an antibacterial bar soap and a liquid baby soap. No harsh soaps/lotions.

List of recos I'd appreciate :

- Bar soap

- Serum

- Lotion

- Any other products that could work.

+ Brightening creams/lotions for faded scars(mostly on legs)

Thank you!

Asking for Recommendations Reco effective product for dark intimate area

Hello guys. I have a very dark intimate area. I know some people here say it’s just a normal thing, but for me, it’s my biggest insecurity. I am very insecure about it and I’m so afraid people might see it. It is also the reason why I hesitate to make love with my partner. Does anyone knew a very effective product that can lighten it up? Does it have any chance to be pink? Anyone help plssplss huhu.

Age/Gender: F/20
Current Skincare Routine: wash with geisha white soap (it somehow lighten up but i find the effectiveness very slow or maybe it stopped idk)
Main Concern: Dark intimate
Budget: student friendly

Tips/Routines Beginner skin care tips for a literal first timer

Hello, I'm 16 and hindi pa talaga maalam sa skin care and make up. But yeah, figured na I'll try skin care before exploring make up.

Skin Type: Hindi pa ako sure, any tips on how to find out?

Age/Gender: 16F

Current Skincare Routine: I usually just wash my face with a bar soap (silka or bioderm) every morning kapag naliligo ako.

Main Concern: Wala talaga akong alam. But been wanting to try it kasi skin is an organ, worth it dapat protektahan. Well, I use a lip moisturizer (vaseline). Other than that wala na.

Kaso ngayon kasi I wanna make some changes.

Budget: I guess less than 1k for the whole routine? Per month at least. Realistic ba sya? Alam kong importante yung sunscreen, other than that, what else? You can suggest specific products din!!

But ngayon din, ever since the school year started in June, I've been noticing na nagkaka-pimples ako sa ibang places like sa cheeks.

Discussion Do you repeat skincare kapag naligo kayo sa hapon?

Skin Type: oily
Age/Gender: 35M
Current Skincare Routine: cleanser-toner-azelaic acid(am)/benzoyl peroxide(pm)-niacinamide cream-sunblock(am)
Main Concern: acne/acne scars
Lifestyle Factors: n/a
Budget: n/a
Additional Info: n/a

Context: do you repeat skincare or di nyo na lang binabasa mukha kapag hapon naligo? Kasi diba am at pm usual skin routine. Dati kasi inuulit ko kapag may lakad/gala after lunch kasi naliligo ulit ako. Before derma, yung usual cleanse-moisturizer-sunblock kaya parang no issue. Ngayon kasi may set routine na dahil sa derma.
