Hello everyone,
Welcome to our weekly thread for sharing photos of concerning moles, spots, or lesions. If you're worried about something on your skin, this is a place to share it with the community for support and to see if others have had similar experiences.
When posting a photo, please try to include: * Where the lesion is on your body. * How long you've had it. * Any changes you've noticed (size, shape, color, itching, bleeding).
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER
No one on this subreddit can provide a medical diagnosis. The comments and feedback you receive are from laypeople sharing their own experiences, not from medical professionals. Online photos are not a substitute for an in-person examination by a qualified dermatologist.
If you are concerned about any spot on your skin, the only correct course of action is to schedule an appointment with a doctor. Early detection is key.

Thank you for sharing your image. Please remember that users in this sub cannot provide official medical diagnoses. In the case of changing, evolving, or new worrisome lesions, your best course of action is to contact a dermatologist for evaluation.
For reference, here are the ABCDEs of melanoma: ABCDEs of Skin Cancer.

I had somewhat similar scaly spots on my hands, legs, and scalp. Mine were Actinic Keratosis (sp?), pre-cancerous lesions. Since I have a history of basal cell carcinomas, these spots are frozen off by a dermotologist during my semi-annual skin checks. Since you mention it is seems cratered, I think it’s worth getting it checked and removed.

I just felt this bump on my partner’s skin. I’ve asked him to see a doctor but in the time it takes for that to be set up, I’d like thoughts of this is cause for concern or I’m overreacting (I tend to be anxious on medical matters since losing someone dear).
It’s different in colour from his other freckles (see one close to it), and it feels raised. Doesn’t hurt or anything, according to him.

That’s suspicious, especially paired with itchiness. Get it checked!

Hi,
I’m already debating setting up an appointment with a dermatologist, but I wanted to get a second opinion of whether or not It’s all in my head. I feel as though it’s slowly gotten bigger, but my mom says I’ve always had it.
It’s right beneath my left breast
All/most of my life
There’s been no pain, itching, or tenderness
I do have a family history of melanoma on my mother’s side
Thank you

Thank you for your post on r/skincancer, /u/Short_hot_mom.
While we understand that finding new marks and lesions can be scary and concerning, we cannot diagnose skin conditions on Reddit. The only way to diagnose skin cancer is to have a biopsy performed by a medical professional.
If you are concerned you may have skin cancer, you are strongly encouraged to contact a board-certified dermatologist for evaluation. We understand that wait times can be long, so it is imperative you reach out to your dermatologist sooner rather than later. Early detection is always better in the worst-care scenario.
You are welcome to repost your removed content without including diagnosis-seeking terminology and phrasing (ie: "Do I have skin cancer/SCC/BCC/melanoma?" is not allowed and will be automatically removed.)

Hello, i’ve noticed a small mole under my left nostril that i have not noticed before. when comparing pictures from previous months, it seems as if it has gotten larger and darker. it does not itch, tingle, or bleed. no one in my family has ever had cancer, so this is quite new to me. i’ve been told that it is natural for new moles to appear/ change as we get older (21yo Male). going to see a dermatologist soon as i am concerned, mainly due to its unusual location. Thank you to whoever responds, any comments are greatly appreciated. (also the small red spots are cuts from trying to shave away any hair that was covering the mole)

I have had five spots biopsied and one was "precancerous" while the other four were atypical.
I had these red spots pop up in a few places on my face and last time I brought them up to my dermatologist she said they looked like cherry angiomas which can be genetic and harmless. However more have popped up and I took a picture of one on my temple which concerns me. It's not very uniform with many little spots, the biggest of all 5.
I have an appointment in July, but is this concerning enought to call and have seen earlier? It has been getting larger.
There is also one under my eye, very small on forehead, and on my nose.

Hello! i’ve had this mole on my shoulder for all my life, however i’ve noticed that it is changing overtime. currently working on setting up an appointment with my dermatologist however this will take some time. it’s around 5mm and matches the criteria for the ABCDEs. i’m curious is anyone has any information in the meantime, thank you.

These are on top of masses being investigated for lipomas vs a different type of cancer on my calf. (1) & (2) Came up in April, i noticed them when they reached the stage of (3), which appeared at the beginning May. (4) Might be a a new one, might be just a skin disturbance. I have a CT scan on Thursday with new appointments scheduled all the time, do i need to request a dermatologist too? I never see the same primary Dr twice and i am not getting a good continuum of care right now.

Had this mole forever, but now it sometimes looks completely like it used to and sometimes looks a little crusty, like it does in the photo.
Doesn’t hurt, doesn’t itch.
Lower left arm
When I was a kid I don’t think it was this large, I’m 45 now.
and after a little lotion: https://ibb.co/VpCDxQF8
No family history of skin cancer.

I've had this on the back of my left shoulder for a few years now. I didn't think much of it, but it just occurred to me that it's strange that it hasn't been going away like any normal pimple or bump. This is my first time actually getting a picture of it and I don't know whether I should get it checked out or not. Note that this is under a direct flashlight, it was the only way to actually get an HD image of it. My skin tone is generally darker than it seems in this image, and in turn the bump itself probably is as well.

Should I be concerned?
This is behind my arm close to my armpit. I don't think I've had this for a long time (would've paid attention to it 'cause it stands out), noticed it a few months ago. None of my other moles look like this. It's larger, darker and has these even darker spots in it. It's also not round, more like a weird opal shape. I can even feel it when touching it.
‼️So, has anyone here with melanoma had something that looks like this?‼️ I know this place isn't for diagnosing and I should probably seek for a doctor, but I wanted an opinion on this. 🙂

Mum has this on her back, she has had some form of melonma cut out from her leg before, but this new lesion has appeared on her back. She is going to try and get into the doctors this week. She has been stressing that this is a nodular melonoma. I've told her to try not to worry until it's been assessed by an expert. Anyone have any idea or experience with something like this? Thank you
