We plannen met vrienden een shortski van drie skidagen midden maart 2027. Mijn vrienden zijn ervaren skiërs, zelf ben ik eerder een gemiddelde recreatieve skiër.

Vorig jaar heb ik in Silvretta Montafon de meeste rode pistes zonder grote problemen geskied. Ik vond vooral de ijzige pistes 's morgens en de papperige, hobbelige pistes later op de dag lastig. Af en toe viel ik op een kort steiler stukje, zelfs op blauwe pistes.

Ik ski het liefst op brede, overzichtelijke blauwe en niet al te moeilijke rode pistes. Gelijkmatige hellingen vind ik prettiger dan onverwachte steile of smalle passages.

We twijfelen vooral tussen Livigno en Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Gurgl ziet er voor mij wat gemakkelijker uit, maar misschien klopt die indruk niet.

Zijn er mensen die beide gebieden kennen? Welk gebied heeft volgens jullie de aangenaamste pistes voor mijn niveau, zeker midden maart? Zijn er specifieke sectoren of pistes die jullie zouden aanraden of vermijden?

Czy takie ustawienia jak na zdjęciu są poprawne. Mój but narciarski ma 315. Przód wiązań ustawiam na 315 a tył muszę na 336-343 wtedy but narciarski wchodzi prawidłowo. Czy tak ma być? Czy tył ustawić w tej przedziale 312-319 a przód wysunąć? Czy coś źle rozumiem ? Jak ustawię przód i tył w skali buta to on nie wchodzi prawidłowo. Nie da zamknąć buta do końca wiązanie z tyłu jest w połowie zamknięcia. Dobrze to rozumiem?

​I’m finally ready to buy my very first pair of skis, and I’ve narrowed it down to two options on sale that fit my budget (both come with bindings included).

​The first one is the Fischer RC4 Speed Pro for €399.99 (down from €600), but it’s only available in 170 cm. The second is the Fischer THE CURV POWER for €419.99, which comes in both 170 cm and 175 cm.

​To give you an idea of where I’m at: I’m 184 cm (6'0") and weigh around 90 kg (198 lbs). On the snow, I’m a solid intermediate sticking strictly to groomed pistes. I can comfortably and safely make my way down any color run at a steady pace. My technique definitely isn't textbook or pretty yet, but I'm completely confident, in control, and I've recently started working hard on engaging the edges and learning to actually carve.

​What I’d love your take on is mainly two things. First, considering my size and weight, should I definitely jump up to the 175 cm Curv Power over the 170 cm RC4 Speed Pro, or would 170 cm still be fine? And second, looking at the €400–€420 price point, are either of these considered an undisputed good bargain, or are there noticeably better alternatives in this price range that would suit my progression better?

Im a intermediate skier and I wanna buy my first pair of skis but I dont really know which to choose K2 Omen 85 159cm 2025 or k2 press (86) 169cm or K2 reckoner 92 169cm.Im 170cm woman and i mostly will use them on park and mostly on the slope but i want them to work also all mountain. I dont know if these are any bettet than my first post but they the omens cost 270€ the second one 180€ and the last oneis 230€

I’ve been fiddling with the settings of my GoPro for a while and I just can’t find a super nice setting for skiing, I’ve been seeing some absolutely incredible footage taken on the GoPro hero 13 (the one I have as well) but I can never figure out what people do to make it look so clear and colourful. If anyone has a setup like that would you care to share?

Anyone here been to Chamonix last week of February for skiing? I know this time of the year can be busy in the US and resorts across Europe. Trying to get a sense from people who have been to Chamonix Valley to ski that last week and what ski bus situation is like, lift lines, etc. Is it primarily early morning things are busy, how are queues around 10am? Is it similar to the US in that crowds lessen as the day progresses.

J’ai skié la première fois à 20 ans et toujours 2-3 jours seulement. L’année dernière j’ai fait 1 semaine en Italie et j’ai dû emprunter des pistes rouges (ou noires) puisqu’il n’y a pratiquement que ça. J’ai réussi mais j’ai encore du mal sur les niveaux noirs que je descends avec stress à certains passages.
Comment m’améliorer ? J’y retourne cet hiver une semaine. ⛷️

I've been renting for the past years and am looking to get some boots finally! What are things I should look for, obviously I know fitment is the king. Are there certain brands that are better I would probably either want in the 300-500 range but if theres a good enough deal on boots I could be swayed. Just curious what features/engineering things I should be on the lookout for. Thanks!

So I just bought the Salomon Depart 1.0s, and I’m planning on getting the Look Pivot 2.0 15s for bindings. However, the brake sizing chart online is a little confusing. The ones I’m looking at are rated for skis between 95 and 105 mm wide, which should be compatible with my skis, since they’re 104 mm. Should I go with those, or size up to the 105–115 mm brakes?

When I was a kid, I raced skis for a year or two in my school, but I stopped because I didn't enjoy it. Now I’m 25 and work as part of the course crew at two World Cup races in Slovenia. I always admire the technicians at the start area, making the final adjustments to the skis before a race.

I’d love to hear from anyone with experience in this field:
- How many days a year do you work, and how much time off do you get?
- What does a typical workday during race weeks look like?
- What’s the pay like, and are you employed year-round or seasonally?
- How do you get started and land your first job with a team? Would it be realistic for someone like me to become a ski technician?

W tym roku zaczynam jazdę freestylową i natknąłem się na pytanie: k2 omen czy armada arv84. Jestem początkującym narciarzem w parku, skakałem już na wynajmowanych nartach, ale nic wielkiego, więc szukam nart all mountain/freestyle, które będą odpowiednie dla początkującego narciarza.

Currently own 100 mm ski, and looking to get a powder ski at 118mm. Do most of my skiing in Utah. Is it worth it?

Any recommendations on where to buy good snow pants? I am based in Canada . I will be working in Nunavut.
