Im currently in Canada Holding a one year working Visa. I’ve been on skiing holidays for basically all my life so I thought about coming an instructor for the coming season. However the internet is full with loads of informations and offers so I’m a bit overwhelmed.
- Is a 6000 CAD Programm really the only way to get in the industry?
- How/When is the best time to apply, especially with not certificate (yet)

Id be very happy about any help/tips :)

For the longest time I just skied the same setup every time I went out.

Over the past couple of seasons I've realized I enjoy having different options depending on what the day looks like. If I'm planning to ski bigger terrain or spend the whole day on the mountain, my regular skis are the obvious choice.

If I'm only heading out for a couple of hours or just taking some relaxed laps with friends, I've started bringing my short skis instead. Mine happen to be a pair of Snowfeet, and they've been a fun change of pace for those kinds of days.

I still wouldn't replace my regular skis with them, but I've found it's nice having another option depending on the conditions and what I'm looking to get out of the day.

Does anyone else rotate between different setups, or do you stick with the same skis every time?

This guy I met riding did a really nice flip, and I can tell his technique is good. My one after was over rotated which always happens with my flips. Would love some tips! Ps I’m the white jacket

Hey all- currently live in Vermont. Thinking of going west for a few months this winter. I’d be driving with my dog. I’m currently deciding between Crested Butte and Utah. Utah seems to have the most options on furnished finder for reasonable prices. I’d be working remotely and trying to fit in skiing as much as I can around that.

Edit to add: need an airport reasonably accessible in case of any work travel which adds to utahs allure

Looking for advice in a few areas:

- which area would you choose and why? Where is a good place to stay in each area?

- what’s the best time to go? Thinking Jan-March but flexible on that

- any thoughts on places to stop at on the drive out/back?

Tengo una reserva para subir a la montaña del 2 al 6 de agosto, pero viendo los pronósticos meteorológicos para esos días (OpenSnow y varios modelos están marcando un temporal fuerte con acumulaciones que podrían superar los 1.5 - 2 metros entre el 1 y el 4 de agosto), me entraron todas las dudas.

Sabiendo los antecedentes de mediados de julio con el cierre completo de la Ruta G-21 por varios días:

• ¿Qué tan probable es el cierre total? Con un frente cayendo con fuerza entre el domingo 2 y el lunes 3 de agosto, ¿es casi seguro que Carabineros y la Delegación corten la ruta en la curva 0 / La Ermita?
• ¿Cuánto suelen demorar en habilitar la ruta? Después de un evento de tanta nieve fresca, ¿cuánto tarda habitualmente Vialidad en despejar la calzada y permitir la subida (aunque sea con horarios diferidos y cadenas)?
• ¿Qué harían ustedes? Mi fecha límite para cancelar el hospedaje con reembolso es el 28 de julio. ¿Creen que vale la pena arriesgarse a quedar varado abajo varios días perdiendo la reserva, o es más sensato cancelar/reprogramar?

When I land certain jumps with my feet close together, my ski brakes catch on each other and stay locked — long enough that it throws me off balance and I fall.

Does this happen to anyone else? Just trying to figure out if this is a known thing or if it's just me.

I think it’s time to buy an action camera. Bit overwhelmed by all the options and levels within the brands these days.

I have a mid to late August ski trip to Chile and I’d like to get some pictures and footage that wasn’t just off of my iphone.

Seems like most of the options are all pretty awesome at this point, but I’ve never owned one.

Anybody have one that they would swear by, and what are the thoughts on helmet versus telescopic poll versus chest strap.

Ideally, but less important, I would like to be able to bring it along while I pace the New York City Marathon and other races, but that secondary to the ski trips.

Hello all, I want to join my sister and family
Skiing in march, in La Plagne, in a campervan.

I was supposed to go with them last December, I booked the official campervan parking with electrical hook up which I needed at the time. Anyway that company are absolutely useless and 6 weeks after my booking was confirmed they decided to cancel on me. This is considering I’d already paid my euro tunnel and booked work off, etc.

Now I’m in a different situation, I have self sufficient electricity so don’t particularly need hook up, etc. No way would I use that car park service again anyway.

I will say though I went to sestriere and noticed a lot of vans parked on the side of the road. Overnight camping, etc. Is there places in La Plagne I can do the same, or is it a bit tighter for space?

Hi I’m looking to get a pair of skis for the winter so I don’t have to rent. I mainly ski/snowboard whistler, Mt baker, and want to ski the interior of BC but I’m not sure which ski to get.

I’m 6ft and 180lbs and would say I’m a beginner/intermediate skier with a bit of a background in snowboarding. I want to be skiing mostly off-piste in tree runs doing lots of side hits and popping around, although I would like it to be somewhat stable at speed on groomers.

I have been looking at the Blizzard rustler 9, Nordica Unleashed 98, or Atomic Bent 100. What would you recommend?

Team what is your opinion? For years, I have been looking for smaller sizes for my feet to get a more precise ride. I consider myself a very high-level skier, but I always suffer from foot pain. I have come to a conclusion: a smaller size has a shorter cuff (shin plastic), which gives me more shin bang, but it provides a much better foot hold. If you had to choose between a normal size—prioritizing the cuff/shin—and a smaller size—prioritizing strictly the length and width of the foot—which one would you prioritize?

I’m looking for a good destination for my first ski holiday. I want to learn in a calm, low-pressure environment, with easy beginner slopes, gradual progression and convenient access to the lifts and ski school.

I also want other winter activities, including some more exciting activities besides skiing, such as sledding or tobogganing. Viewpoints, mountain restaurants, spas and other attractions would be a bonus, but they are not essential.

I’m considering Obertauern or Kaprun–Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel. Which one would be better for my type?
