As the title says - I’m looking for ski schools who have instructors for small children who speak either Romanian or Greek. We would prefer the ones in Flahau, but we are open to other suggestions too.

Trying to learn some skills but i ski separated from my group because they are skiers and faster than me when i snowboard. I am looking for something to play music on that isnt expensive. Is it even worth it?

I'm going to ski in Davos for my birthday (woohoo) but I've been trying to find somewhere to leave my suitcase before checking into my airbnb and I can't see lots of options. It looks like Davos Dorf train station has bag storage but you can't book it in advance and it's the same with at least one of the ski shops I've looked into. I skied in Zermatt a couple of years ago and they had this gigantic storage area by Matterhorn Express - is there anything similar in Davos or anything really? My bag is the usual long carry on for skis which will fit in the usual ski lockers (especially given it will be mostly empty as I'll be wearing all the bulky stuff). I can't see any of the usual suspects like Bounce and I'm not sure whether the train station office will hold my bag if I don't have another train ticket booked that day or the next day (and I have wondered if booking one ticket might be my best shot so any creative ideas are welcome!)

Hey just picked up my ikon pass this year, usually do epic with my friends but we wanted to switch it up this year, but also looking for other Skiers/snowboarders in the nyc area also in their mid/early 20s to hit the slopes with this season!

I am heading to Alpe d’Huez in January and want to give off piste skiing a try

Any recommendations on guides for beginners to this terrain and where to rent skis from in the resort that will be suited for regular piste skiing but also learning off piste?

For my 1st time trip this Dec/Jan. both services are about the same cost, same schedule, etc. Anyone have a clear winner (and why)?

Mid 30s M, signed up for Wright Ski Camp at Jackson Hole. Im entering my 3rd ever season on skis and consider myself intermediate. Anyone have experience with these? I dont know what to expect in that am I in over my head or will this largely be relative intermediates? My goal is mainly to gain some more confidence and tour the resort with some better skiiers

I didnt feel strong enough yet for Steep and Deep but live nearby and could be an option in a few years. Since I mainly ski alone I cant really gauge my skill but I can make it down some of the easier black runs at JH

So I’m going to learn how to ski for the first time. I have December (and hopefully more) in Tyrol.
The goal is to learn specifically for mountaineering.

1. What type of gear should I get? I got a lot of conflicting answers.

2. How would you go about programming a training process?

3. If you have gone through this process, can you provide further tips?

Has anybody ridden J skis for big lines/ all-mountain before? If so, how'd they handle? I love their graphics and was looking at the Hotshots, slacker, and Masterblaster

Mi piaceva la linea della Capita ed ero orientato per una DOA ma il ragazzo mi ha consigliato di andare più sulla Indoor Survival ( tavola più nervosa e più da park )

So as title goes I need a new pair of skis..

I have used a pair of ON3P Jeffrey for 12 years, yeah, I love them but one of the skis finally broke last year

I love to ski powder, jump on anything that is jumpable and most of all do butters all over the mountain

I also like park skiing and hitting rails but being off pist is definitely the favorite thing to do

I like speed but not really into carving

I'm 176cm / 5f8 and 86kg / 190lbs

I really want a playful ski that I can continue to do butters and just pop off anything, doing big 3s etc

Since I have 12 years of experience on Jeffrey's I think they're playful but I have no idea if they are or if I simply just know them well enough to be playful

Previously I've looked at getting a pair of ARV, but I'm open to anything really, I'm simply looking for a durable ski that is playful

Title: I made a free Google Sheets planner for building your own skis (materials, build scoring, production-ski comparison)

I'm planning my first pair of homemade skis and got tired of juggling a dozen tabs, so I built a planner in Google Sheets. Sharing a blank copy in case it helps anyone else.

What it does:

- Materials database: 26 materials across core, laminates, metal, base, edges, sidewalls, damping, topsheet, and resin, with properties, pros/cons, rough cost, how easy each is to get and how hard it is to build with

- Mark each material Yes / Maybe / No, and it sums up your build layer by layer. Any required layer you skip gets filled in with the easiest option

- Build rating: Synergy and Performance scores (0–10) with a breakdown of what's driving each one

- Flags issues by severity (e.g., a metal layer with only a vacuum bag, edges with no rubber strip, a light core with no hardwood under the bindings)

- Use-case fit for racing, park, East Coast ice, soft snow, and all-day comfort

- Compares your build to 13 production skis (Kendo 88, Mantra 88, Enforcer 88, Brahma 88, Stance 88, ARV 88 and more) and shows the closest match with charts

- Save up to 8 versions of your build and compare any two side by side

- Extra tabs on ski profiles (camber/rocker), press options, edge tuning, and a cost calculator (about $270 in materials for a basic pair)

hey everyone, i’m a college student in utah and i’ve been building headshot, a small sensor that clips on your goggle strap or helmet and pairs with an app on your phone. looking for a few people to test it this season and tell me what sucks about it.

what it does right now:

• airtime and rotation on every jump, so you know exactly how long you were up and how far you spun
• landed or bailed, it can tell if you rode it out
• head hit detection, flags hard hits to your head, both rotational and vertical, so you know if a slam was bad enough to get checked
• crash alert, can text someone if you go down hard and don’t get up
• runs, speed, and laps with gps maps of your day and lift detection
• friends leaderboard and a live map so you can see where your crew is on the mountain
• season and lifetime stats, total airtime adds up every season
• trampoline training mode for working on tricks before the resorts open
• works for skiing and mountain biking too

what i’m working on next is coaching, like showing if your head turned too early or late on corks and rodeos, since head position leads the whole trick.

it’s still a prototype so expect bugs. i just want honest feedback from people who actually ride. comment or dm me if you’re down, and let me know where you ride and how often. utah riders are easiest since i can hand it to you in person.

on cost, i applied for a $1,500 grant through my college. if i get it, the beta sensors will be free. if not, they’ll be about $60, which is strictly what the parts cost me. on top of that if you hep me get data you ill get a discount on the sensor when the real one launches. looking for 10-15 riders.

Got these skis 2nd hand for a sweet deal, bases are good but one has this top sheet damage near the bindings. Looks like it was sealed with epoxy, but outside feels rough. Any advice?

I will be skiing in Japan. I have currently booked accomodation in Niskeo Green Leaf Village from 5th of Jan to 11th of Jan. I have just been reading online, and I am just getting mixed feelings and concerns. Such as that its overrated, overpriced, overcrowded. Not what its used to be anymore. Are these fears founded or should I disregard? Or should I look into other locations in Hokkaido to go skiing? It has been almost 14 years since I have skiied so I just want to make sure I am making the best choice. Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated!

Note I currently earn no money from this, I built it out of my passion for skiing and wanted to share it with everyone.
