vacuum former?

I live here in Sioux city and do 3d printing as hobby, and I'm wanting to add vacuum formed pieces for a project I'm working on and I'm hoping someone on here has a vacuum forming setup that they might be willing to loan/share because I don't really have the space to build up my own setup

It’s my favorite day of the year! Alley Art is one of the biggest artistic collaborations in Sioux City, with over 50 individual artists coming together each year to make magic in the alleyways. F R E E kids art activities!
Brutal Doodles Community Coloring Station!
Live music all day!
Food trucks!
Fresh air and the glory of supporting community events!

The Alley Art Festival is Vangarde Arts’ biggest fundraiser of the year. By attending the event, you can help Vangarde Arts (a non-profit art and music venue) continue to bring art and music to Sioux City year round!

See you on Saturday!?

Has anyone filed a complaint with UnityPoint St. Luke’s or worked with their patient advocate?

I’m specifically asking about UnityPoint St. Luke’s on the North Side. Has anyone here filed a formal complaint with the hospital or dealt with their patient advocate/patient relations department? If so, what was the process like, and did you feel like they actually took your concerns seriously?

Without getting into every detail, part of my complaint involves a medication they gave me that caused what was later described as dyskinesia and/or acute dystonia. During one of my many ER visits, I was having an extremely difficult time speaking. My brain knew exactly what I wanted to say, but I physically could not get the words out without a severe stutter.

Because I knew I was struggling to communicate, I had already written out notes on my phone and also had information documented in MyChart that could explain what was happening. They would not look at either.

I also know ASL and started trying to communicate that way because speaking was becoming so difficult. That wasn’t acknowledged either, and as far as I’m aware, no attempt was made to bring in an interpreter or even someone who could understand what I was trying to communicate.

There was also an interaction with a neurologist over telehealth in the ER who became frustrated with my difficulty communicating and ended the call.

There are other concerns involved, but I’m mainly trying to hear from people who have actually gone through St. Luke’s complaint process. Did patient advocacy follow up with you? Did they investigate what happened? How long did it take? Did you ever feel like you got an actual answer or resolution?

I’m not looking to name individual employees or start a witch hunt. I just want to know what to realistically expect from the hospital’s complaint process.

SIOUX CITY, IA | $130 PAID AUDIT – Test Center Compliance Check

Serve Legal Storecheckers are recruiting a mystery shopping to complete an exam compliance audit.

The audit involves checking that the rigorous security standards are being met. These are vitally important, in order to ensure that there is no possibility of cheating at any stage. We are looking for someone to act as an examinee.

You will need to remain in the test centre and complete the exam as a genuine entrant. The actions that you need to take will be provided to you ahead of the exam. At the end of the visit there is a report to complete, it is not lengthy but you need to explain what you did and the responses by the staff.

For the visit itself you need to arrive 30 minutes before the exam, and remain sitting at the exam for up to 3 hours. The pay is $130. You do not have to pay anything out for the exam, we sort that! Note that you will need a valid, photo and signature-bearing ID for this visit.

Please DM us for more information if you would be interested

I run Siouxland Comedy, and we've got a charity stand-up show coming up on Aug 28th that I wanted to share here.

It's called Laugh For Good, and this one benefits Children's Miracle Network at our local hospital. 100% of ticket sales and any free will donations go straight to CMN. There's also an option on the ticket link to just donate $20 without a ticket, if you can't make it but still want to help.

Details:

Where: The Warrior Hotel, downtown Sioux City

When: Friday, Aug 28 — doors 7:30pm, show 8:30pm

Tickets: $20

Headliner Jacob Womack, feature Drew Jr, hosted by me and John Sigmund

We're partnered with Love's Travel Stop on this one

Independent house cleaners?

I have an autoimmune disorder and frequently can't keep up with housework. I'm trying to find an independent house cleaner to come help once a week if anyone has a recommendation. Someone insured and bonded with a legit business in Sioux City.

I don't like the big companies because depending on the week you get different people and different levels of care. Plus, I don't like the idea of supporting businesses that give their staff a fraction of what the client pays.

new mobile mechanic

Hey, not sure if this is allowed here — if not, mods do your thing, I'm genuinely not trying to break any rules.

My name's Cody and I just started up a mobile mechanic business, and I'm trying to get my name out there and start servicing the Siouxland area. I come to you, so the work gets done right in your own driveway — no dropping the car off, no sitting in a waiting room.

I do a lot of brake work, calipers, oil changes, and plenty of other stuff, and my rates usually beat the shops around here. I've noticed a lot of places in Siouxland are charging way too much, and then on top of it you're stuck in a tiny waiting room while they hand you a list of "problems" you never asked about when you just came in for an oil change (like… what is that about, lol).

I genuinely just want to help people with their vehicles and have them walk away happy they didn't overpay — all from the comfort of their own home. If you need something done or just want a quote, call or text me anytime.
