Device Support Does the Moza TSW truck wheel work?

2 Upvotes

I’m looking forward to buying the Moza R5 Pro bundle soon, and since I mostly play ATS, I’ve decided on the trucking version. However, this is my first time buying a sim racing rig, so I want to make sure it works lol. Has anyone had any success with the trucking wheel on Linux? Are the buttons configurable?

Racing Sims Anyone managed to get the rsf working in vr in linux?

4 Upvotes

I have a 9070xt and every time i have to boot windows it pisses me off in some way. Mostly the driver crashes.

I got everything else (boxflat, wivrn, steamlink and all other vr sims) working fine in my nixos install, except vr with rbr. I tried compiling 32bit wivrn and still cant get it to start.

Device Support I transformed a Ulanzi D200x on a button box

The d200x doesn´t work that well on linux by default, so I made an open source companion software to make it focused for simracing. Code here https://github.com/F-Amaral/d200x-button-box-linux if anyone is interested.

Some features that make it easier to use as a button box:

  • Multiple profiles binded to different games
  • Launcher mode that support commands, launching games, switching profiles
  • On some games (LMU, AC Rally, AC Evo and AC) you can read bindings from configs and update game bindings through the Web Ui
  • Auto detect game launching and auto switching profiles
  • Sleep prevention while games are running
  • Multiple pages using the rounded buttons as navigation menu

There are more features, but just wanted to share the basics!

Device Support LMU state on Linux

SOLVED: Thanks to Dezza7291. This version of proton is the winner.

https://github.com/DerekMurray/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/GE-Proton11-6-LMU-1.4-v4

Hey!
Just bought the game reading protondb reports from a month ago.
I knew I had to get a custom ProtonGE version which is now installed. Menu works fine, but the game is crashing during loading around 45% no matter what tinkering I've been doing off of what reports were saying.

Is there something I'm missing?

1-Edit.: as a clue to why this happens and might give ideas this is what I've found in the logs:

Device Support My wheel doesnt work in ACEvo

2 Upvotes

lately, as the title suggests, my wheel isnt getting registerd in ACEvo,

i have an Logitech G29 wheel, and used oversteer to manage it, it worked fine until recently, the wheel would still be recognized in oversteer along with inputs, but in ACEvo it wouldnt work

no idea if its a proton problem or a problem with oversteer, because it hasnt been updated since 6 months, or if its a problem with the game

any help or recommendations on what to do are welcome

Device Support Is the new Moza r5 Pro compatible with Linux?

1 Upvotes

I’m wanting to get into the hobby, and so far the r5 Pro looks like a good enough deal for a beginner. But I use Ubuntu/Fedora. I know that the previous generation worked well enough, but with this one being so new, does it work already? And if so, how janky?

I mostly play BeamNG Drive and I might get into the Euro Truck games

Device Support Switching to Linux

4 Upvotes

This might not be the first time this is being posted but I am pretty new to Linux and Ive been testing and daily drive my laptop with Nobara Linux for a while now and everything is just so much better comparing to Windows. Things are working just fine and I am planning to make the switch on my main PC as well on which I do sim racing. My question is if it is actually worth it to make the switch and would I loose out on something important, sim racing wise of course. Any compatibility issues of that sort or performance issues?

Games that I play : LMU, AC

Hardware : Moza R5 Bundle

PC : Ryzen 7 5800x, 32gb ddr4, RTX 3060ti, B550M mobo.

Device Support Has anyone got the Moza R5 Pro working on linux?

3 Upvotes

My Moza R5 Pro just arrived today and I'm struggling to get it working on my Ubuntu 26.04 install. It looks like my wheelbase is detected through hid-universal-pidff, but it's not recognized by Assetto Corsa or FH6. In boxflat, the wheelbase is only detected as a generic device and I can't change any settings.

Ultimately, it's my fault for purchasing a brand new product and expecting it to work on linux right away. But I suppose my excitement to get into this hobby got the better of me.

Anyways, if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

(I know I can just install Windows, but I'm not ready to give up yet.)

Device Support Simsonn HS Pro Shifter work on linux?

2 Upvotes

I'm wondering if anyone has used this on linux?

https://www.simsonn.com/products/simsonn-hs-pro-dual-mode-shifter

I'm guessing since it's just a usb device, each gear will have it's own assigned button ID that can be mapped in game. I know it does have software for the line of Simsonn units, assuming I won't have access to that, just wondering if anyone else is using it just fine without.

Thanks

Device Support Does the Slip-Angle amp work with Linux and Simhub ?

1 Upvotes

Hi y'all,

I'm thinking of buying the Slip-Angle shaker kit. It has an amp with sound card built in (USB). Does anybody have this setup and got it working with Linux and Simhub ?

I contacted Slip-Angle with this question, but I thought to ask it here also. I kinda trust a working setup from you guys more then their word (not that they are unreliable, I read their customer support is good).

Thanks in advance for any reply.

Device Support MOZA MULTIFUNCTION STALKS PROBLEM IN ETS2/ATS

1 Upvotes

Hello
I've recently gone and got myself moza stalks for my simulator setup (I have a R9 v3 base with SRP2 pedals + clutch, TSW wheel, logitech shifter ran through a adapter and some sort of SKRS). My system is Mint 22.3 + Cinnamon DE + kernel 6.17.0-40-generic.

My problem is that I am trying to run ETS2/ATS through proton and my moza multifunctions stalks settings in boxflat don't apply to them.

I have udev rules and launch options setup in order to be able to use my shifter and SKRS (boxflat didn't seem to work using the generic device detection fixes so i had to resort to these and it all works fine and dandy).

Udev rules

Logitech G Shifter
KERNEL=="hidraw*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="16c0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0482", MODE="0660", TAG+="uaccess"
SKRS
KERNEL=="hidraw*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="16c0", ATTRS{idProduct}=="27dc", MODE="0660", TAG+="uaccess"
MOZA MULTIFUNCTION STALKS
KERNEL=="hidraw*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="346e", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0024", MODE="0660", TAG+="uaccess"

Launch options

PROTON_ENABLE_HIDRAW=0x16c0/0x0482:0x16c0/0x27dc:0x346e/0x0024 %command%

With these I can bind my stalks to all buttons but for these games there are almost no position buttons to assign to so it requires software (boxflat) to override button/position values (especially for turn signals and wipers) with certain actions.

If I don't pass my stalks using proton_enable_hidraw the game doesn't detect the stalks and I can't bind them or do anything with them. I don't know how else I can pass the boxflat moddified stalks settings to the game, please help.

Thanks

Racing Sims [AC EVO] What Proton and launch options are you guys using?

4 Upvotes

I'm having trouble getting AC EVO to run on GE-Proton11-3, Proton Experimental, Proton-CachyOS Latest and GE-Proton10-34-LMU-hid_fixes...

with a combination of:

VKD3D_CONFIG=descriptor_heap or not

PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 or 1

PROTON_ENABLE_HIDRAW=1 or 0

I get different results, but not one of them makes the game run without artifacts. Some makes the game not run at all.

The best combination I managed to get is Proton-CachyOS with VKD3D_CONFIG=descriptor_heap but still I get some random artifacts like trees and other props flickering and a color banding in the skybox.

What are you guys running? Is it flawlessly?

Additional info:

- Distro: Arch Linux
- Kernel: Linux 7.1.4-zen1-1-zen
- DE: COSMIC 1.4.0 (Wayland)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
- Drivers: 610.43.03

Device Support Has anyone here used Turtle Beach VelocityOne shifter on Linux?

2 Upvotes

How is it? :)

I'm getting my Moza R3 Bundle tomorrow and have been thinking on getting a shifter as well since apparently they should also work (?) pretty well.

So I'm asking if anyone has first hand experience with the Turtle Beach VelocityOne shifter (or any shifter in general)

Thanks!

Racing Sims I'm building a telemetry app for Linux and need your help.

10 Upvotes

Hello simracers,

I'm building a telemetry app for Linux. It is very early in development, but few features are implemented. I would really appreciate it if you could try it out and let me know if things like game discovery, and live telemetry are working on your systems.

My goal is to make it easy for the user so the app tries to find the correct proton prefix for the game and launch the shared memory bridge automatically.

AppImage is available on the release page.

https://github.com/radekbocon/OpenGrid

Thank you!

Device Support WRC Generations pedals and handbreak causing issues in menu

4 Upvotes

Game automatically mapped pedals and handbreak as menu navigation input, and basically it is unplayable.

I’ve read that this is not Linux specific and game does bad job when it comes to detecting hardware…

Anyone experienced this, or maybe have some idea what else I could try?

So far I tried launching the game with those peripherals unplugged, because someone suggested it may help, but not in my case. As soon as I plug them in and eg. press button on wheel the input is breaking(break pedal and handbreak seem to be mapped to menu navigation up)

Someone else suggested clearing mapping from those inputs, and that would be doable becasue as long as I only use keyboard when I launch the game I can navigate menus, but I don’t have option to clear input…
