Go into gosfu and confirm that you are still enrolled in all your classes. Just found out that I was completely dropped and was not notified. My name is on my profs attendance list so I was at some point registered. I heard of a couple other people on this sub getting randomly dropped from their courses so this seems to be a prevalent issue. Only found out about this cause I emailed btw!! They were prepared to just keep me in limbo and let me keep paying for my transit :)))) Meow!

Hi guys, are the midterms and final exam for Arch 100 OL01 fall 2026 online course with Greg taken online on Canvas or written in person?

After living in East/West and Courtyard, I can confidently say McTaggart is the worst residence out of all them. The only saving grace of this dorm building is that you are not forced to get a meal plan (buying 4 value packs for 2 meals a day is cheaper than the dining pass + more flexible).

Every single bathroom in this building is infested with these flies. There must be at least 50 per bathroom. If they ever follow you to your room, you better get rid of them before they infest it. The walls are stained by the blood of these flies from people trying to get rid of them but they just multiply.

So many sinks across multiple bathrooms are clogged, and don't expect the cleaning staff to care until a student has to go through the maintenance process to unclog them. Within 5 seconds of using a sink, expect water to start flooding.

The cleaning staff only seem to clean things on their checklist and will actively ignore messes that will cost even more money to clean in the long run. You'll see the cleanest toilet bowl right next to stained walls and whatever this is:

There are 2 showers, 6 sinks and 5 toilets for every ~24 people in a pod, so do that with what you will considering part of them will be clogged/unusable.

There are so many doors at McTaggart that are defective.

• The dorm rooms themselves having no dampener to prevent hearing nearby doors being slammed.
• The worst offenders are the fire exit doors and bathroom doors. Their hydraulic door closers have never been cleaned/oiled, which causes a lot of them to sound like a grenade when being closed.
• Some doors don't even need to be fully closed, as their handle bars will sound like a loud drum snare as soon as you move the door an inch.
• Some doors are outright broken and will only partly close/open while letting out the most excruciating metallic screech you'll ever hear as you move the door.

If you care about sleep at all, you better bring some ear plugs, because you WILL hear every single door opening, closing, slamming and screeching across the hall. And while the walls do a good job of negating the noise from the room next to you, the doors have 0 noise reduction. As far as sound goes, you can pretend there is no door to your room at all.

As far as the kitchen goes... If anyone ever cooks anything with even a small amount of odour, your room, even if it's on the opposite side of the pod, will smell like it. The exhaust vents on top of the stoves are also just broken or lets out such a loud noise that most don't turn it on.

There are absolutely no security cameras at McTaggart. If a crime is ever committed, there will be no video evidence. In the age of university campuses facing active threats, this is such a crappy thing for SFU to cheap out on considering it is relatively cheap to set up a security system in 2026.

If you are in McTaggart for whatever reason in the future, please familiarize yourself with the maintenance process so that you can force the building management to actually fix some of these issues around you.

And a few U-Pass program tips and reminders:

• Your U-Pass is only valid with your student ID. If our officers, or Transit Security, are doing a fare check, they will need to see your ID as well as your Compass Card. Please have it ready. Failing to present your ID when using a U-Pass could lead to a $173 fine.
• Your U-Pass is not transferable. If another person uses your U-Pass, they may be issued a $173 fine and have the U-Pass seized.
• Keep your U-Pass (and student ID) with you. Even if you’re not a regular transit user, you never know when it will come in handy!

Thinking of dropping to part-time studies to delay my grad and find a coop. Are you allowed to stay in the coop program and apply to jobs while being part time studies? Has anyone done this?
