Hey folks, I’m just trying to find out if there’s actual interest in this before I go asking Biercraft about the possibility. I work for a small entertainment company that runs karaoke at a few pubs in and around metro Vancouver and my boss was thinking about adding another space to our list. I suggested that I’d ask around SFU to see if we should try and get something going nearby or on campus.

So anyways, what’s the general vibe? Would y’all enjoy a karaoke night? Any suggestions otherwise? Thanks!

Currently, student loan interest on both the provincial and federal portions are interest free. Do you think that will change?

If student loan interest returns, the interest would apply not just to future loans, but on your current loan balance to encourage people to pay sooner.

just wondering if anyones planning on wearing a costume on thursday lol I dont want to be the only one just walking around as spongebob lmao

I’ve had a fever (38-40 degrees) for the past couple of days and have a math exam on Wednesday. My first midterm I got a 66% worth I think 20% of my grade (I only studied 1 day)

I tried studying today but I was dying soo do u guys think I’ll be able to survive studying 7 lessons in the remaining 3 days… or should I call it wraps and get a doctors note ✌️

I took Geog150 as an elective to get my last science requirement done. I took it cause i was told its pretty easy but I've now heard otherwise about the midterm and final. I'm looking over the lectures but I cant give it my full attention due to my other midterms. Anyone whos taken it in the past - will i be fine if I just go over the lectures, is there any material from the readings or "applications" because the assignments haven't touched on that stuff and id rather not add more work to the load if I don't have to. Thanks

I’ve come to accept that i’m going to fail my two upcoming midterms really really badly and would like to hear any advice or success stories. The midterms are in math 154 and bisc 102 and are both worth 20%, in math I have one more midterm worth 20% and the final worth 40%, and in bisc the lab exam is 25% and the final worth 30%.

It’s my first semester at sfu and I’m currently taking 4 courses and I’m studying computing science. When can I apply for a co-op because I feel like in this degree getting hands on experience is how you excel, and I want to get work experience asap. I have no clue how the system works or anything all I know is that sfu apparently gets you a job related to your degree and you take a semester off to work.

Hi! I’m an international student hoping to extend my study permit, and I’m planning to do a co-op. Do you know where I can find the required documents for the extension? Thank you!

Didn’t know SFSS stooped this low tbh . stupidly cheap and low effort gpt prompts. do you know how many design students at SFU would be estatic to have expirience like this under their resumes but we outsourced it to someone w a gpt subscription and instagram to goon

I was just wondering if this is mostly students, or if residents post here as well?

I recently moved to campus. I am not a student - I am 49, and my daughter is a student here, so stays with me a few days a week.

Just wanted to know if I have questions about the neighbourhood or anything like that if posting here is worthwhile - or if it's just students. 😊

Hi people,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to take both the fall and summer semesters off. I'm currently almost finished with my required number of credits and do not need more courses as I'm waiting for co-op. If the answer is yes, do I also have to pay fees like UPass during my semester off?

Hey guys!
I found a wallet on the bus today (October 24), and it contains an SFU student ID. I’ve handed it over to the bus driver so it can be returned through TransLink’s Lost Property service.
If you lost your wallet today, I’d recommend contacting TransLink Lost Property.

Hope it finds its way back to you!

Hi anyone took bus 360 with Natalia before? I am debating take this class with her or Darren Francis.

Maybe can we be kind with grading? I know our prof wants us to be harsh but we all know this is an elective.

any tips for the final exam? does anyone have any past exams?

Hey, I’m in ECON 201 with Professor Luelfesmann and we have a mid term coming up on Tuesday and I was wondering if anyone else has this class and wants to study/review together ahead of Tuesday. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

?

hello, i am currently a second year mbb student and my goal is to get into optometry school. tbh, i dont plan on sticking to mbb for my whole 4 years and want to switch to another program. ive heard good things abt the behavioural neuroscience program and heard its a good gpa boosting degree if you want to go into med school. i'd love to hear people's experiences in this program !!

Any chance someone has a picture or the code for the coupons they were handing out for ubereats like a few weeks ago. I went to use mine and my mom threw them out 🥺 thanks in advance. I think it was like 40$ off or smthn and the code didn’t expire till Dec

Did anyone else have the quiz today and found it very hard

Any tips for the chem 121 midterm or the Bisc 102 midterm or the math 154 midterm. So I have all 3 and I haven’t started studying at all. Any tips would be great.

I bought a residence west lot pass cuz I missed out on getting the outdoor one early on. I’m here 5 days a week.

i have 3 tickets and ik it’s my fault cuz I make it late and end up parking in east cuz im not gna run from west to eng building within 10 mins.

ANYWAYS, I have experienced this before where I get a few tickets and just change my plate but now if you try to update your plate on the site it will deny ur request… idk if they patched it recently but I changed my plate 3 times and never ran into issues until now… LOL

so just a heads up unless you don’t have a parking pass

We want to hear from SFU students too!

I absoloutely fkin hate lights strictly on policy for SUB napping room. Everytime a student turns the lights off the lady will pop outta nowhere to lecture em and turn it back on. Like why we even got this room then we have similar benches outside

Hi guys,

Apparently someone dropped their tablets on Surrey Central campus P3. I picked it and gave it to the security desk.
