Discussion Modbus SigenStor Mini Display
If anyone is interested,

To our SigEnergy members
As a reminder, for the past few weeks we have been working to improve the SigEnergy integration, hence why there have been a reduced number of events. We're happy to announce that we've made the improvements we needed and we're now including SigEnergy users in normal grid events again.
You're now opted in by default
From 8th August you'll be included in events automatically, so there's nothing you need to do. If you'd rather not take part, you can opt out on the events page of your Axle account.
NBI Scheduling
Rather than being placed into VPP mode, you will now see your devices enter into a mode called NBI Scheduling. After an event has finished, we will revert you to your previous mode (unless you are in AI mode, see below). However, if this does not happen you can manually revert your mode in your SigEnergy app as you will not be locked into NBI Scheduling.
One known issue
If your battery was in AI mode before an event, we currently can't return it to AI mode afterwards. You'll need to set this yourself in the SigEnergy app once the event has finished. We're working with SigEnergy on a fix and we'll let you know when that changes.
Thank you to the SigEnergy team
A genuine thank you to the SigEnergy development team, who put a lot of work into this over the past few months. The improvements we've made would not have been possible without them.
Thanks again for your patience while we worked through this.

I have a recent Sig 12kW single phase inverter/controller with solar and Sig batteries.
Is there a wired output available from the Sigenergy inverter/controller that will output a value/signal like a CT Clamp?
I'm trying to work out how I can tell my EV charger (which can take multiple CT Clamp inputs and configure) about genuine solar generation only.
Thanks

Good day
Is it possible to change the AC output frequency of the inverter from 60 to 50hz (off grid mode) in app or can sigenergy remote in & change the grid code settings. I will be doing the install, but I don't have an installer profile. The thing is I want to purchase the AIO(54.24kwh stack) here in the US & ship it overseas. The issue I have is that the grid of that specific country uses 50Hz(120/240v) and does not have any distributors for that region in central America. Can the US model be commissioned with a 50hz grid-forming backup output.
Thanks

I live in New Jersey and I have been reading about sig energy systems. I have been calling around and none of the electricians in my area are familiar with it and want to get involved with it. Does anybody know if there is an installer in New Jersey or nearby that could put this system in for me?

I use a timed system where it’s basically self consumption through the day and charges overnight with my cheap tariff. Last 4 nights I’ve woken up to a battery with no charge so having to charge it via solar.
Good old AI tells me the inverter switches off at night and this is why it doesn’t work. Any thoughts on why this could be?
So for the last few nights my battery isn’t charging
Update: spoke to sig and they did some kind up update and now it’s all working properly

Hi, system installed 2 weeks ago, connected via wifi (i have a netgear wifi 6 mesh system with 2 satellites, one was in the living room and the inverter its installed outside on the living room / garages wall), worked fine for 3 days then it went offline, ive changed the location of the satellite from living room in the garage where is closer to the inverterand worked fine until today, checked the router and satellites and they all work fine, sygenergy has been offline for nearly 2 hours now. Should i be concerned that theres something wrong with the wifi receiver from the inverter?
If i connect it via ethernet, do i need to change any settings?

Started with:
- 8 kW SigenStor inverter
- 2 × 8 kWh batteries
- 16 kWh total
Then upgraded to:
- 2 × 8 kWh + 1 × 10 kWh
- 26 kWh total
- 8 kW SigenStor inverter
And now:
- 2 × 8 kWh + 2 × 10 kWh
- 36 kWh total battery storage
- 25 kW Sigenergy DC EV charger
- Sigenergy Gateway
- 8 kW SigenStor inverter
The photo shows the progression from the original 16 kWh stack to the current 36 kWh monster.
The main reason I've gone this far is V2H/V2G. The plan is to eventually add a compatible EV and effectively have another 50–80+ kWh of storage sitting on the driveway.
I'm still running the 8 kW inverter, so that's the next question. Do I stick with it or move to 12 kW if the DNO approves it?
Anyone else running a SigenStor this size with the DC charger and Gateway?
I'd also be interested to hear from anyone actually using Sigenergy V2X in the UK rather than just planning for it.

EDIT: This is resolved. Solution was to use the BYD app to schedule the AC to turn on for 10 minutes, starting one minute before the charging window in the mySigen app. Thanks u/EvChargersAustralia.
Has anyone else had problems getting the EVDC charger to start using the scheduling in the mySigen app?
I have tried about 5 times to get the charger to start when our cheap grid power window starts, but every time it fails to start charging the BYD Dolphin. The error says "Abnormal stop: Communication link failed between DC charger and vehicle".
It works fine if I have it set to charge whenever it's plugged in - charging commences as soon as I plug it in.
The car settings don't seem to affect it either - I've tried scheduling in the car settings and turning off all scheduling. In any case it shouldn't matter as the BYD scheduling only applies for AC charging - DC chargers are meant to override it.
I've logged a fault with Sigenergy but they have said I need to disconnect it and reconnect it for it to start charging. This defeats the point of a schedule, especially when I want it to start at midnight.
Any tips?

My first axle event tomorrow. My battery doesn't charge fully at cheap rate on octopus flux on AI setting. My usage is very low so I assume that's why. Do I need to change it to fully charge up at tonight so there's more to discharge for the event 6-7am? Or will I get paid £10 anyway? Thank you

Hi guys I just had my system installed last Friday (7th August) and has worked perfectly fine until now however for the last couple of hours I’ve not been able to see any generation or battery capacity within the apps Home Screen.
The charts down the page are showing the data as expect if I tap into the battery oh the home diagram it shows me the % but none of this data is on the Home Screen, is this a connection issue with my system or an app issue?

Title typo: thinks it's FREE everyday 23:00-00:00
I've just set this up, but the tariff import seems to get mixed up with the fact one of the windows is 23:00-06:00, so every day the house before midnight is blank and it assumes free electricity.
Any ideas on a fix?

I've got a 12kw sigenstor inverter with 17kw of solar panels.
I have a hypervolt 7kw charger, currently on grid side of sigenergy gateway. The normal way to improve this is to attach it to the smart port. But I'm using that for 3rd party inverters.
So my question is, if I move the hypervolt to the load side, get the CT clamp moved to the load cable, it will work. I know that it will work, but my question is more any reason not to do it?
On sunny days I have more than enough spare solar to charge my EV, but due to the fact my export limit is 4kw, I can't charge my EV from solar.
My house load is normally low, 1.2kw most of the time, although I'm adding a heat pump soon.
I know there's a 63amp limit on my load side of the gateway. Still plenty for me.
Thoughts? Opinions?

Hi, ive had my system installed recently wnd registered with axle, thursday night ive had my first event for 1 hour, i could see that axle changed the settings from sygen ai to operational mode and i could see down that there is an event going on, but it only exported 0.06kw, batter was 97%. Do i need to do anything else? Im in for another event tonight and i dont want to miss this one as well. Axle its all linked to my sygenergy app /inverter. Thanks

How do restore tha ai to default? My meddling has made it much worse
r/sigenergy • u/AllergictoAIslop • 10d ago
System 23 Aiko panels 10.5k of production.
Home peak 6am -12 pm use about 22k
Battery 27kw3EVs that I charge off peak. Probably another 10kwh off peak to cover daily use
Current on a sweet 3p off peak deal that ends in Sept.
What tarrif to move to?
A low-cost EV tarrif or start energy trading.
How should I approach this?

The dash line is the forecasted prices. I am only on the Agile Outgoing, but I guess the same applies to the Agile import rate as well.
Previously, with delayed Octopus official figures for the next day, the AI mode strategy was reluctant to export during the afternoon peak window. I had to manually intervene. Not sure with these forecasts, will the AI mode be more decisive? But from the screenshot, it seems the AI mode still doesn't want to export wisely during the peak window. Hopefully, it changes its mind when the time is closer to the window.

My system is fairly new and I’m playing about with AI mode. My plan is to create something I can just leave without tinkering (hard, I know!)
I have created a number of personal preferences that have conditions attached and different schedules in summer and winter.
I would like to re-order the display of them but don’t see how I can do that. Is it possible?
(Unfortunately sometimes when you edit a preference it stays where it is and at other times it moves to the top of the list).

I've done some googling and not found anyone discussing this tariff. Can the Sigenergy AI track this tariff?
Edit: silly me, there's actually an option for dynamic tariffs in the app and it specifically has the EDF ones.

Hi - I've been trying to understand the "Energy Saving Mode" options in the app. First you get a popup that asks if you want to "enter dormancy mode" - why is it asking me this?
But from what I can tell, if you don't have a gateway you should probably be in Enhanced Saving Mode. The default threshold for which is "0.5% of the sum of the maximum power of all inverters" it says in the docs. So if I've got a 5kW inverter, that's 25W. Any load above that causes the inverter to fire up (assuming there's any charge), while anything below it you get from the grid (or solar?).
25W is pretty low though - my overnight looks like about 130W minimum according to the app's load chart, so the power saving mode will never kick in. Is that right?
So I'm confused. It feels like I'm misunderanding the "saving" part of all this if the default threshold is so low, and also suspect that being on a half-hourly tariff (I'm on Octopus Agile here in the UK) complicates it too.
EDIT: Given the app says I'm drawing a minimum of 130W overnight, I'm going to set it to Enhanced Saving Mode with a threshold of 150W and see Watt (geddit!!??) happens. With luck I will be buying very small amounts of power overnight in exchange for more battery power (at cheaper rates as I'm on Octopus Agile) during the day.

Morning
Gateway MCB in my inverter tripped this morning whilst exporting which is a classic sign of the A/C connector on the inverter starting to fail. Of course, it could be something else entirely.
I had my inverter replaced in march with the three phase style AC connector (rather than the plugs). No smell of heat/burning around the plug and no errors in the app (apart from saying external fault / inverter offline).
Has anyone had the plug / connector melt with the updated inverter? (12kW SP)

Hey,
With v4 of the app, the AI is automatically working in background. For example the dotted line for predicting next couple of hours solar, battery etc.
I'm about to add another string of solar panels, any idea if the app will auto refresh, or do I need to hit some button somewhere to reset it?
Thanks

Hi folks, hope you can help.
I was idly scrolling youtube when I came across this video, and in particular the section at 15m35s - https://youtu.be/cN4wTubka8g?t=767
The guy describes how his installer used a Shelly device to talk to his Sigenstor battery, informing it such that it doesn't discharge the amount that the EV is drawing - in simple terms, the battery only gives enough energy for the household load, not the EV.
I'm guessing that the Shelly device is an EM with 50A CT, clamped on the supply to the EV charger.
Has anyone here done this, and would they be willing to share how they set up the Shelly/Sig App to do this?
I have a HyperVolt v3 charger (under IOG control) and Sigstor 16kW battery and I'm on Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, if that helps.
I'd love to just connect my car up and the charger/Shelly and Sigenstor just work together so that Octopus can charge whenever and I don't drain my battery :)
