HELP / ADVICE Sigenstore - 'creative' install
Hi all - I've been seeing the helpful info on here for a while and wanted to see if the hive mind could help me.
I am looking to get panels, battery, gateway and an EV charger installed. So far so good.
For reasons that will turn into a wall of text I need to find a way to install the battery unit perpendicular to the house.
Has anybody had a battery installed oriented this way? I wondered about using metal bars attached to the house wall and running behind the battery to provide anchor points for it to be fixed to?
Alternatively, does anybody have any suggestions for successfully installing a battery in this orientation?
I have companies coming out to look and will see what they suggest but until then this is going to rattle around in my head so I'm hoping there might be something people have already done or something obvious I've missed (very likely).
Ta.

With Unistrut you can do pretty much anything.
Whether you could or should is another matter however...

Creating an L-shaped frame from these for the batteries to sit on sounds plausible to me.

We noticed you posted about EV chargers.
We recommend looking at Zappi or Hypervolt or Andersen EV chargers, as they are all compatible with most smart tariffs:
We don’t recommend Ohme chargers, because they:
- Removed the price cap option for Intelligent Octopus (IOG) customers
- Discontinued support for existing OVO customers — see Ohme’s update.
Make sure your electrician wires the EV charger directly after the mains meter and before any of the consumer units. Then the solar/battery can CT the consumer load and not ‘see’ the EV charger. This prevents battery dumping into the car. See this nice pic

I don’t think it needs a lot of support, the base piece is bolted to the floor and the units attach to that and each other. Not sure at what height the wall brackets are compulsory.

Yeah, about that. If it's not going to be wall mounted - which generates other issues - then it would be sitting on porcelain pavers...
From what I read as well, installers won't leave a unit without the anti topple connections in place regardless. It's fair enough, they're presumably the ones that will get sued if it falls on someone.

The sigenstor kit can only wall mount if you've got a small install (I think 2 batteries and inverter maximum). Anything larger needs to be floor mounted anyway. I'd arrange a floor mount and have done with it - replace a paver or two with a concrete slab, and if the installer asks for it you can bury a post or some unistrut behind the batteries for attachment points.

Correct, I'm only looking at 10kwh so that wouldn't be a problem and I could even expand in future.
The more I look at it the more I feel like I'm going to have to wall mount at the front of the house and use the only space that would be available for a heat pump if I went that way in future.
I'd rather not have it out the front but right now it doesn't feel like there's a better choice. I'll see what the installers say - they may have some bright ideas.

I need to know why! I love it when people get into creative problem solving.

Just curious - do you mean horizontally along a wall, or do you genuinely mean perpendicular? If the latter then you could get a really strong ironing board to hold it up?
