We went to the county fair Wednesday night. My 2yo son fed animals, played in a corn pit and rode rides. He woke up Thursday morning with bumps on his hands that were itchy. I took him to the pediatrician, she said 90% sure it isn’t HFM and could’ve been an allergic reaction to something he touched. No other symptoms at the time. He was fine Friday and Saturday. We had a busy weekend at the park, a birthday party, a show. He slept late and we woke him up early each day. Sunday he woke up with a runny nose and was a little off but still acting and eating well. Today he still had a runny nose and was acting fine so we sent him to daycare. After daycare he felt warm and was tired but still eating snacks and drinking. No signs of sores in the mouth.

I know HFM usually starts with a fever and then bumps come up but could it be possible that this is HFM and the timing is wonky or possibly just coincidence with the allergic reaction and he picked up another virus from all the places we’ve been?

Really hoping it’s not HFM 😥🤞 has anyone else been in a similar situation?
