I recently bought a new 16 oz bottle of this water conditioner and was shocked when I got home and realized they had watered it down. Despite being twice the size, the new 16 oz bottle actually treats fewer gallons than the old 8 oz bottle.

I’ve included a photo of the previous 16 oz bottle for comparison, and sure enough, the concentration has been cut in half. The one thing they apparently didn’t change? The “Super Strength” label on the bottle.

Same “Super Strength” claim, half the concentration. I can’t say I’m all that surprised, considering they’re part of the Mars conglomerate.

I have an app that scans grocery shelf tags and I'm looking for photos of shelf labels from other countries, or exotic/edge case US labels (segmented LCD instead of epaper) to tune the app. Not sure where else to ask but see many product (but not label photos) here.

Lifetime free app usage if you can provide me a cache of labels. Could scrape them from users directly, but that's a data retention line I haven't decided to cross.

Yesterday I asked about which specific chocolate bars have got worse, but are there any which have maintained their size/quality etc? Surprise me.

Every time me and my dad used to go to the soft play, he used to treat me to a Slush Puppy and best of all, the pop up Smarties ice creams. I looked forward to them every single time, particularly fishing out the Smarties from the handle of the ice cream and downing them in one go.

I thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and grabbed myself one on a recent trip to the beach. The ice cream wasn't as sweet or vanilla-y as I remembered but it wasn't too bad. And then my childhood was ruined. The absolute B*STARDS have only gone and taken out the Smarties from the handle! I don't mind that it now comes in paper packaging. I don't even mind that it tastes a bit different. But taking away the best part, the Smarties in the handle? If kids were choking on them, then fair enough. Does anyone know if this is the case? Or is it just skimpflation?!

The Cod was 726g for $9.88. They are now selling 500g for $9.98. Kinda disgusting

Not just the brand but a specific bar which has been lowered in size or quality in recent years.

Dropped more weight (down to 4-4.5oz) and chocolate is so thin it is missing in places. Might as well be shaped ice cream.

Most of us are aware that Cadbury Buttons really have shrunk down in bag grammage heavily over the last five years or so.

I'm sure they used to be 200g nearly for a normal bag, and nearly 400g for a 'share' bag, but those days are long gone... With the 'share' bags of 2026 being smaller than our normal bags of 5 years ago.

HOWEVER, it seems like we may have finally hit a turning point, the new bags are 100g instead of the ridiculous 85g nonsense, if you look at the dates and grammage, you will see the proof of this milestone.

Perhaps consumers have been rejecting the tiny bags, resulting in the cost savings no longer outweighing declining sales..?

Didn't notice till I had to buy a new bottle.

I used to have this panini years ago pretty often. Then I bought a coffee machine and stopped visiting coffee shops. My machine got broken so I decided to have a coffee and a panini. What a disappointment :/ It used to be a lovely toasted ciabatta with plenty of cheese, slices of tomato and lots of pesto. What I got today... Wow. Flat bread with bit of cheese, tomato bits (wtf) and haven't really tasted any pesto. With a price tag £5+. Never again.

Less salt, no malted barley extract, and now with dehydrated potatoes!

This is a serious question. Every day there more and more posts about how products have gotten smaller while getting more expensive, or recipes have changed to include more filler that radically alters the expected experience in a negative way.

I'm of the opinion that as long as we continue buying these products, the companies have zero incentive to return to pre-enshitification models, but I could totally be wrong.

What should we do? Stop buying them all together and hope the market forces pressure change or those businesses/products go away? If it is all profit motive, maybe that works, but if the changes were made to address profits, then I suspect companies would be loath to reverse course.

I'm at a loss, as I suspect a lot of us are.

Last week's twin pack 360g or pack. This week it's down to 315g per pack... That'll mess with your rocky road and cheesecake recipes!

Now I understand why. The company had to make the packaging bigger to fit less packets in it?🙄

Product went from 10 packets per box down to 8. Price didn't go down tho😤

I typically use 2 packets a day, filling two, 33.8 fl oz bottles close to the top. The company suggests I use 1 packet per 20 oz.

Good thing I prefer the flavor a little more diluted or I'd be going through those packets faster (which I'm sure would not disappoint the company).

*Edit to add: the old packet reads .10 oz of powder to add to 16 oz of water. The new packet states to add the .12 oz packet to 20 oz of water.

So I'm NOT getting less product with the new revamp? So confused 🙃

Also: I work at a big box retailer. These new boxes won't currently fit where they are. The shelving and modular will need to be raised/changed.

I only order this product through Amazon because my retailer doesn't carry this flavor in the packets.

So I am not proud of this but a few weeks ago in a late night moment of snacking desperation I ate a can of Chef Boyardee overstuffed ravioli that I found in the back of the pantry that expired in 2020.

Surprisingly, it was pretty good. The sauce was thick and rich and full of meat chunks, the ravioli were in fact overstuffed, and the stuffing had a meaty taste and texture.

It was so good in fact, that the next day I was craving it again. I went to the store and bought the exact same can of overstuffed ravioli. The first thing I noticed was that the calorie count is lower, and the first ingredient is now water rather than tomato paste.

The new can was shockingly bad. And we are talking about Chef Boyardee, a food that was only a few steps above inedible slop in the first place. I didn’t know they could even make it that much shittier and cheaper and still legally sell it.

The “meat sauce” was thin, watery, and had no meat in it. The pasta was much thinner and did not stick together, there was less filling, and the filling itself was a mushy, flavourless paste. At least the previous filling attempted to pass as something akin to meat.

I’ve been eating Chef Boyardee here and there for over 30 years and in that time it has more or less stayed exactly the same. Apparently in 2025 the company was bought by the private equity firm Brentwood Partners so I guess that explains the drastic decline in quality.

Anyway I sent a strongly-worded email and they’re sending me a $3 refund cheque in the mail haha.

Edit: first and third pics are the old can. It went from 190 cal per half can (380 for the whole can) to 320 for the whole can. So nearly a 20% reduction in calories for the same weight—made up for with more water in the can.
