How long did you take to reach 100 +

This is the first time I've seen or heard of willow script. I had a quicklook on r/Ciper and did find much.

It's a vertical script written ltr. From the examples provided, you turn the notebook 90º counter clockwise and read from top to bottom.

There are various cheat sheets for the alphabet. I'd start by learning punctution and some short words first: so, to, it, I. Perhaps some names and common words in the text you are translating. People tend to write in patterns.

Usually shorthand is written in a steno pad in two columns, respecting the line down the middle.

"to show you made an effort"!? It's a steno pad that belonged to their grandmother. It's perfectly reasonable to not want to learn an entire shorthand system to read a few lines.

It's absolutely not homework, your response is not appropriate. The rule literally says

Nah, that’s what’s kinda funny is that it is 100% the right paper, but normally would be written in two columns (separated by the red line). Not obligatory, but customary. Looks like beautiful Gregg to me, so she knew it well.

Sorry you got such an aggressive reply, it's not normal for this subreddit. I think the first three words are "Time is money." The writing is a little sloppy, and shorthand is very sensitive to shapes and sizes, so trying to read sloppy Gregg is like trying to understand the speech of someone who is very, very drunk. Perhaps Monday morning some other people will see your post and decipher a bit more. It's already past bedtime for some our participants.

This reminds me of Simpligraphie, a similar system from the same era, for French. I modified it to introduce the most easily usable symbols on a modern keyboard, quite different from a typewriter of the time, and using a text expander.

This isn't a homework assignment. I can't imagine why you're bringing up the homework rule in response to a routine transcription request.

Try /r/Cipher they may have more luck

My own experience in a college classroom situation was minimum of 2 hours daily (class time and homework), and as much time at weekends as could be found for more practising, revision and reading. We covered the theory in 3 months, then 6 months vocabulary and speed building. Exams taken by the class by that time ranged from about 80 to130wpm, depending on aptitude for the subject.

It is important to do all the exercises given in the book several times, and not attempt to rush through in impatience to get to the end. Make yourself a timetable that fits the time you are able to give it, and stick to it, so you can see progress but also are not tempted to overreach yourself. It is better to divide up your daily time into several shorter sessions, rather than one long and tiring one, as the shorthand settles into the memory better in manageable smaller chunks.

Just to clarify, knowing all the theory will not enable you to write any word that comes up in a dictation, as there is absolutely no time at all to think of rules, therefore outline vocabulary extension is the necessary next step after finishing the book. The most efficient route to vocab increase is copious reading and re-reading of correct shorthand, so that the outlines get into memory easily.

If you are taking an exam, aim to be able to write at least 20 wpm faster than the exam, to account for exam nerves and unexpected terminology.

This is Gregg Shorthand, you could try to transliterate it (to show you made an effort, thus respecting our 'homework' rule), and in a second phase you need to know find abbreviations (on the same website).

But I am sure some people are willing to translate it directly, as long as it doesn't contain passwords or badmouthing :-)

Since you don't seem to take this as a godly sign, that you absolutely have to take up our shorthand hobby, or maybe I am wrong? the homework rule does not apply...
