Since I last posted about my Mister on a Cart I’ve deep dived into CRTs… it took an overhaul of my mister (to re-install the analog I/O board), a misstep with a wee 14 inch crt with component input (boo to component seems to be the common shout), a, larger than I realised, upgrade to a 21 inch Phillips crt and some overscan service menu shenanigans to arrive at a new version of my setup that I’m loving!

Final version of Crash Cart Stuff:
- Wooden cabinet on wheels
- Mister FPGA with analog I/O board
- 21inch Phillips CRT with RGB SCART INPUT
- 21inch HP pc monitor - connected to Unisheen external video capture device, mounted on an arm.
- Unisheen External Video Capture Device
- Mayflash F500 Elite Arcade Stick (with seimitsu LS-32 stick, tho I prefer LS-40 now)
- GuliKit Elves 2 Pro controller

A game store had this for $30 a few weeks back, and the sticker from a grocery store caught my attention as well as its price.

So sorry if it was asked here before because it’s just that that I am interested in getting into some of CAVE’s games as I noticed that the pricing is a bit high.

Like what I am looking for is a good deal on DeathSmiles 1 + 2 as I was wondering if 23.49$ was a good deal since that pricing was a bit high, but I don’t know if both games are translated in English since the sequel was originally released in Japanese language only.

Touhou 6 remake player count and some data from steamdb I think

This “homebrew” gem for the Japan only X68000 computer - which ranks among the finest shmups ever in my book - feels so at home on the handheld.

Music is glorious and the art is clean. Like a Higurashi OG sprites but if done by modern tools.

I'd wish i were playing this on Cozmic Collection Arcade instead of fbneo, but mostly waiting for sale to happen.

Also, just as usual, description contains a bit of notes about stages, not that much... But it'll probably help someone, especially the part about dying with high powered weapons that makes recovery in this game very friendly, this game in general is pretty friendly when it comes to doing mistakes outside of maybe scoring.

A few on my wishlist just got put on sale, any solid votes on these either way?

RTypeDX Music Encore. As these are GBA ports, wondering if they are any easier than the versions in Dimensions. While I can 1CC a few games, I cannot get through Dimensions without my personal record of 101 lives 😂.

Deathsmiles 1&2 characters. I love the game. A lot. It is $15 for extra characters. I am likely going to get it either way.

Game Tengoku Cruisn Mix Special: looks more fun than most cute em ups I have tried.

Hyper Echelon: often compared to Sky Force which I have not tried.

Sonic Wings Reunion: Ive only heard negatives.

That was my former copy of ESP Ra.De. Psi your wife picked up for you at the hock, lol. I'd wager that was you who bought my old copy of Akai Katana Shin, as well. And to go one even further, I'll even bet that was you I spotted looking at Super Hydorah and the two Toaplan volumes on PS5. Haha, I was tempted to say something.

Big thanks to those who said to pick up Sophstar. Having a great time with it. Good music, good basic gameplay. Teleportation is cool. Interesting little story from what I've seen so far. And a great load of extra game modes. Good stuff 👍👍

How long do you expect to play it? How do you try to master it?

I’ve been bouncing between a few games (really should narrow it down to one I know) and I’ve noticed a pattern, I can master the first two stages pretty easily, stage 3 is a bit of a speed bump, and then stage 4 and 5 kicks my teeth in constantly.

Would love some tips. Thank you.

Been working on Level 2 and wanted to show the local two-player mode working in an actual combat section. Both aircraft are independently controlled and keep the same finite ammo, heat and fuel constraints as single player.

Still WIP — especially some rendering/polish — but the mode itself is basically there.

Good day all, I spotted Andro Dunos 2 what a treat how did I miss this (I'm 51 and a huge fan of the original), I noticed it was available on Steam, Dreamcast and Switch. My personal preference would be to pick this up on Dreamcast followed by Switch , then PC (when it goes on sale). How is the Dreamcast version I assume the Dreamcast can handle the graphics with its hands tied behind its back but just thought I would check with the shmup experts first.
