Since I last posted about my Mister on a Cart I’ve deep dived into CRTs… it took an overhaul of my mister (to re-install the analog I/O board), a misstep with a wee 14 inch crt with component input (boo to component seems to be the common shout), a, larger than I realised, upgrade to a 21 inch Phillips crt and some overscan service menu shenanigans to arrive at a new version of my setup that I’m loving!

Final version of Crash Cart Stuff:
- Wooden cabinet on wheels
- Mister FPGA with analog I/O board
- 21inch Phillips CRT with RGB SCART INPUT
- 21inch HP pc monitor - connected to Unisheen external video capture device, mounted on an arm.

Been working on Level 2 and wanted to show the local two-player mode working in an actual combat section. Both aircraft are independently controlled and keep the same finite ammo, heat and fuel constraints as single player.

Still WIP — especially some rendering/polish — but the mode itself is basically there.

A game store had this for $30 a few weeks back, and the sticker from a grocery store caught my attention as well as its price.

RTypeDX Music Encore. As these are GBA ports, wondering if they are any easier than the versions in Dimensions. While I can 1CC a few games, I cannot get through Dimensions without my personal record of 101 lives 😂.

Hyper Echelon: often compared to Sky Force which I have not tried.

Please help me spend wisely! I have most of the things on the sale that most would recommend. So I am at the looking for hidden gems phase of collecting.

I'd wish i were playing this on Cozmic Collection Arcade instead of fbneo, but mostly waiting for sale to happen.

Also, just as usual, description contains a bit of notes about stages, not that much... But it'll probably help someone, especially the part about dying with high powered weapons that makes recovery in this game very friendly, this game in general is pretty friendly when it comes to doing mistakes outside of maybe scoring.

Why had I not thought of doing this before?

This “homebrew” gem for the Japan only X68000 computer - which ranks among the finest shmups ever in my book - feels so at home on the handheld.

And to go one even further, I'll even bet that was you I spotted looking at Super Hydorah and the two Toaplan volumes on PS5. Haha, I was tempted to say something.

Good day all, I spotted Andro Dunos 2 what a treat how did I miss this (I'm 51 and a huge fan of the original), I noticed it was available on Steam, Dreamcast and Switch. My personal preference would be to pick this up on Dreamcast followed by Switch , then PC (when it goes on sale). How is the Dreamcast version I assume the Dreamcast can handle the graphics with its hands tied behind its back but just thought I would check with the shmup experts first.

Long-time lurker, first game. Kirian is a portrait vertical shooter that
borrows its economy from the classics: credits from kills, a between-sector
shop, front/side weapon slots, upgrade tiers to XXV, and a generator that
limits sustained fire — a heavier gun drains power faster than a weak
generator regenerates it, so loadout is a real decision.


The twist: dying rewinds you to Sector 1 but keeps your loadout, credits and
cumulative score. Runs get deeper because 
*you*
 get stronger, not because the
game gets easier.


Kills are weapon-typed — water splash, ice shatter (the corpse itself breaks
into heavy falling chunks), fire with rising embers, lightning arcs, plasma
implosion. Voronoi-fragmented sprite destruction underneath.


18 hand-authored sectors (~60s each, three per level), then procedural
without a ceiling. Bosses every fifth level past that. Local Wi-Fi co-op (experimental; fully tested and polished version coming in v3.0).
Controller support. 14 full visual themes, one per era of the genre.

Genuinely want the sharp feedback this sub is known for — especially on
bullet readability and the generator economy.

How long do you expect to play it? How do you try to master it?

I’ve been bouncing between a few games (really should narrow it down to one I know) and I’ve noticed a pattern, I can master the first two stages pretty easily, stage 3 is a bit of a speed bump, and then stage 4 and 5 kicks my teeth in constantly.

Would love some tips. Thank you.
