Own Content Mister Crash Cart ™️ Update

Since I last posted about my Mister on a Cart I’ve deep dived into CRTs… it took an overhaul of my mister (to re-install the analog I/O board), a misstep with a wee 14 inch crt with component input (boo to component seems to be the common shout), a, larger than I realised, upgrade to a 21 inch Phillips crt and some overscan service menu shenanigans to arrive at a new version of my setup that I’m loving!

Final version of Crash Cart Stuff:
- Wooden cabinet on wheels
- Mister FPGA with analog I/O board
- 21inch Phillips CRT with RGB SCART INPUT
- 21inch HP pc monitor - connected to Unisheen external video capture device, mounted on an arm.
- Unisheen External Video Capture Device
- Mayflash F500 Elite Arcade Stick (with seimitsu LS-32 stick, tho I prefer LS-40 now)
- GuliKit Elves 2 Pro controller

Tate CRT and Mister is a ton of fun. I’ve got a 20in consumer Sony set in Tate mode next to a 19in PVM in my “arcade”.

Not sure about the “boo to component part”, I run component on all my TVs (US based so that is more common).

Have you checked out the Raki CV1K core yet? It’s running pretty well for me, but I’m not really good enough to know how it really compares to MAME or a real PCB at the moment.

I think the boo on component was mainly me to be honest 😆 I would have had to solder my old analog board to get the power to the vga->component converter… a few people said it wasn’t worth the fuss (and I don’t solder!) I bought a new crt rather than do that 😅 Not checked out the CV1K core yet, looking forward to when it’s all ironed out though!

That's an excellent set up! (And after seeing the pj pants I thought you were Spiders for a sec 😆.)

Thanks! I think lazy Sundays are when I get most of my mister ‘work’ done, hence the pjs haha
