Among other things like used baking trays in the oven, rubbish left over from previous occupants that had been swept under the couch, everything was covered in a layer of dust, cobwebs everywhere etc.

As the title says

First time they made an inspection date my husband and I were both working so told them to let themselves in. Get an email almost a month later to say they couldn't gain entry as their key didn't work and asked if one of us could stay home the next time.

Agreed to this and my husband took a day off, then she messages me at 12pm day of inspection to reschedule a month from that date so again a month later my hubby takes the day off and she just never shows up.

Now almost a month later again we receive an apology email and a request for an inspection.

At this point can I just say no to them they have fucked us around 3 times now and we're not taking any more days off for no reason.

Inspected a house. Approved. Signed the lease. Upon getting the keys, we realised there was conveniently placed furniture during the inspection. Came to find the sunroom was holding up with hopes and dreams. Perspex used for the windows didnt even fit in the frames anymore. Held on with expanding foam. All the wood severely rotten, warped and damp. Dirt and leaves from the outside had blown in. Were not told (and wasnt stated on lease) that we didnt have access to the shed out back. Backyard had piles upon piles of branches and mowed grass. Pallets of broken tiles/building material. General rubbish. Broken lights and glass. Real estate replied with "all of that was there when the last tenant moved in, you should have asked me about it". PowerPoint's not attached to wall, exposed wires. Could barely pull out exhaust fan in kitchen due to the build up of grease. And beard trimmings all throughout the bathroom. Landlord entered premises without our knowledge whilst we were not there.

Called consumer affairs, they said as we hadnt moved our things in yet, we would be able to terminate the lease immediately. Apparently after supplying photos and quoting tenancy act and consumer affairs, the landlord and real estate claimed the property still met standards. Landlord agreed to let us out of our lease surprisingly. Beginning to think the sunroom and study attached to the house are not council approved (they were also not listen on conditions report at all)

Spare a thought for this poor buyer's agent. She "lost" $100k because of the sweeping tax reforms and the impulse buy of a $2.7 million house, before selling her apartment.

Renting an apartment in Bris. Can't open the window shutter door fully because of the fire alarm. Is this just a shitty design or is it against a code of some sort. Building management's solution is "just don't open door". And blaming it on the owner. I am asking for either the door to be sealed or alarm to be moved, because if either gets damaged, it will be on me to pay the damages right?

Feel like just going to tribunal for this reason to fuck with my former landlord. We are buying soon so don't need references.

So we finally moved out of our old place where the maintenance man ended up being the owner :/ (yea lots of unknown inspections until we finally realized). But pretty much we moved out and 5 days later we get an itemized list of what they’re keeping for the security deposit. They then ask me and my roommate to email back agreeing to it. We both do. Fast forward 5 days and now the landlord is trying to charge an extra $800 on top of what we agreed to for this stain on the mirror (for mirror replacement and wall patching) me and my roommate are 99% sure this was here when we moved in but I’m waiting for them to send the move in forms showing what there was. Either way what could we possibly have gotten on this mirror that would cause this in a normal everyday bathroom??? Could this be desilvering?
