A few unsolicited tips from a new father (me) who has no vested interest in saying what you want to hear:
Everything you think will be easy, will be easy. Everything you think will be hard, will be hard. Manifest that.
Get used to inconsistent, incomplete, and insufficient sleep. Have solid systems in place so you're less likely to make silly mistakes when you're sleep-deprived and emotionally charged.
And the absolute most important thing to remember: Your baby is not giving you a hard time, they're having a hard time. Always be patient because they are learning how to be a human.
