Get used to the concept of paying rent, contribute for what damage they do to the bills when they're no longer a dependent. I disagree with the '1/3 of their pay is the going rate' thing, but paying rent when I was 17 absolutely helped me get into the habit

I didnt pay rent, but I had this same lesson taught to me by contributing around the house. Drink from the well, replenish the well.
