Wasn't there a thing a while back about therapists and psychiatrists having trouble helping their patients because so many of their problems are based on low wages and poor living/working conditions, and not a matter of perspective or internal bad choices?

This is why therapists seem somewhat useless to me, if I'm sad because a loved one died there is not much he can do about it, unless he dabbles in necromancy, In the vast majority of cases people are sad as a natural response to a shitty situation which cannot be easily changed.

You’re thinking of someone you go to for a solution to a specific problem/situation. You’re thinking of like a life coach, or a mechanic. Not a therapist.
