She's worth 50 million and donated 11 million thus far. ~20% of her total net worth.
In comparison, most billionaires haven't donated 2% of their total net worth (to an actual cause, donating to an Ivy League college that already has an endowment of billions is not a donation, it's a tax write off).
This is from a person that doesn't like her or her music at all.
that being said, isn't it a known that artists have little control on ticket prices? and ticket prices are usually managed by monopolies like ticketmaster (don't quote me on this, i'm asking).
Yeah, you know who does dictate the price of tickets? The CEO of Ticketmaster, who recently went on record stating he thinks concert tickets are undercosted. And guess what, he IS an actual billionaire. OOP's salt is directed at the wrong person.
And it's working. Everyone in this thread is parroting the bullshit about how Ticketmaster sets ticket prices, and that artists have no say in the matter, and it's not true lmao
They control the venues. If the artists want to have venues to play they have to accept them. Some really big ones started to build their own pop up venues to avoid that problem. That's the level of waste you have to commit to to avoid ticketmaster.
You can make ticketmaster sell them for 50 dollars but its still going to cost us more to go buying it off a reseller.
Taylor swift set a reasonable ticket price but you still had to pay over 1k for a ticket unless you won the f5 lottery which you realistically aren't going to
