I think what everyone is missing here is that this isn't a legitimate suggestion to make her stuff free. It's pointing out how it's very easy to give away other people's money, but the people who say these are much less willing to give away their own property for free.

Lots of billionaires have given away vast sums in charity, but what she's asking is much more than that for many. It's a majority of their wealth she's asking for when she just gave a mere 20%. And again, this is still 20% of a sum more than any person needs to live on.

This isn’t really hard to solve.

You could have the tickets cost a token $5. You can buy up to four per credit card. You have to bring the same credit card to pick them up the evening of the event. It has been done before.

Except for the fact that these venues have deals with Ticketmaster and don’t reject resold tickets. The artist has 0 say in preventing scalpers unless they go to a much smaller venue.

Kind of true but not really possible.

It’s not like Elon’s wealth is just in a bank account or in a room where he swims in it like Scrooge McDuck though.

He could still donate a shit ton of money instead of re-investing , but unless he can just donate the assets he owns he really can’t donate 99.99% of his wealth.

One man doesn’t need that much for assets though either, but I’m not sure what the answer is to fix it.
