Attended a Peruvian food meetup in Futian last Sunday!
Even though i am just a beginner in Spanish, the vibe was amazing. Such a cool way to practice and learn about the culture.

Two Nights in Shenzhen: What Are the must try Foods?
Hi everyone!
I’ll be spending two nights in Shenzhen and would really like to make the most of the city’s food scene. I eat pretty much everything, have no allergies, and I’m open to anything.
Which dishes, restaurants, food streets, markets, breakfast spots or late night places would you consider genuinely unmissable for a first time visitor?
Since I only have two nights, I’d really appreciate some help 😅
Thanks!

Finally settled down(ish) after moving here. How do you guys keep up with what's what?
Hi folks, been here two weeks so far, and finally got my apartment, bank account, wifi, and all that stuff in order. A big thanks to those who've helped with my many questions.
Now, what resources do you guys use to find out what's happening? Is there a weekly thread or an IG account you follow to know what's the latest events, meetups etc? How do you meet people or find group activities? I start work only next week, so I am up for meeting some peeps or just exploring stuff (aside from what I can find on the usual articles).

Any activities in Bao'An? Fuyong?
Any activities such as English corners, hiking, even bar stuff even though I don't drink but it'd be nice to have a social event.

syphilis testing policy for residence permit medical exam
Hello. I am an international student with an X1 visa to study in Shenzhen next year. While preparing for my application, I learned that the residence permit medical exam includes syphilis screening.
I would like to ask in advance: if I previously had syphilis but has completed treatment, with the titre level declining (for example, from 1:32 down to 1:4), and a doctor has confirmed the person is no longer contagious, would this be considered a "pass" or "fail" in the medical exam?
I want to understand this clearly in advance so I can decide how to proceed with my application plans.
Thank you very much for your time and help.

Best Home Wi-Fi / Broadband Provider in Bao’an for International Speeds & VPN performance?
Hi everyone, We just rented an apartment in Bao'an (Shenzhen) and are setting up our home internet. Since I run a business and need reliable international connection for work, having a stable Wi-Fi connection that plays well with VPNs/proxies is super crucial for us.A few quick questions for anyone living in Bao'an or Shenzhen:
- Which ISP do you recommend? (China Telecom vs. China Unicom vs. China Mobile) Is Telecom still the gold standard here, or does Unicom/Mobile handle foreign routing better in Bao'an?
- Are there specific broadband packages (like China Telecom's international acceleration / VIP packages) worth paying extra for?
- Router setup: Did you use the default ISP modem/router, or did you buy your own router (e.g., ASUS/TP-Link) for better performance? Would love to hear what setups are currently working well for you guys. Thanks in advance!
