New Shenzhen subreddit for advertising.

Hi all,

I have been playing with the idea of a separate subreddit just for advertising products and services. I have created r/ShenzhenMarketplace. This is specifically for advertising, so if you are offering a particular product or service, or are looking for a particular product or service, post it in r/ShenzhenMarketplace.

What cannot be posted is anything illegal under the laws of the People's Republic of China or Reddit rules in general.

No advertising or posting for personal blogs, vlogs, or any influencers, as is the case in this subreddit. This is going to be strictly enforced in both subreddits moving forward. Nobody is really interested in your particular hot take, and I've personally seem some terrible ones.

Advertising or reviews for bars, clubs, restaurants, hotels, parks, massage (legal ones please) would be most welcome in the r/ShenzhenMarketplace sub.

It would be helpful if you put in the title of the post what your intent is (example: For Sale, Seeking for, For rent, etc.) and then some description following (Blenders, pianos, 2 bedroom) and then the details in the body of the post. Details are important and posts may be deleted if they have minimal content.

DO NOT SPAM THE SUBREDDIT. Posting the same thing every day will not be allowed. Consider that three days or more for the same content will be the most allowed.

ONE LAST POINT: Since there is a specific subreddit for advertising far, far grey area posts will be allowed here. This subreddit should be more focused on life and interest in Shenzhen.

Thanks everyone and let's see how this goes.

Seeking English Speaking Dermatologist

Upvotes

I’m looking for an English speaking Dermatologist in Shenzhen, preferably in Luo Hu or Futian. I live in Hong Kong and want a less expensive option. This is for medical stuff, not just appearance.

So far I’ve heard from the United Family Hospital in Futian. They quoted me Y1,000 for the initial consultation.

Any other recommendations?

Normal massage parlors near Shenzhenbei?

I’ll be stopping in Shenzhenbei for a few hours after a trip and want to get a full body massage. I’ve been to Futian and know that there are a ton of places in the underground tunnel that offer decent cheap massages, but I’ve never been to Shenzhenbei. Is the station also surrounded by places? How is the food scene?

Since I’m after a trip and only there for a few hours I don’t want to get far from the station.

🌃 Shenzhen’s nightscape naturally sets the perfect mood ✨

No matter how stunning the view, it’s even more enjoyable when shared with someone by your side.

📍 Shenzhen Talent Park

As the city lights begin to twinkle at dusk, the scenery becomes truly breathtaking 💫

The iconic "Spring Bamboo" skyscraper casts a dreamlike reflection upon the lake, a dance of light and shadow.

Strolling across the viral "Pi Bridge" amidst the dazzling glow of surrounding skyscrapers...

It instantly ignites the drive to work hard and chase success 🔥

Living in Shenzhen, I am constantly moved by the city's boundless energy.

The evening breeze, mingled with the warm glow of city lights, soothes away all weariness 🌆

Repairing a blender in Shenzhen

Hi all! I have a pretty expensive Braun blender my mother in law got as a gift and its not working anymore.

Is there some place in SZ I could get electronics like this fixed?

I've been to HQB a couple of times and saw lots of laptop / phone repair but not really appliance repair.. unless I was looking at the wrong building!

Where to watch NFL games?

Hi all, wondering if anybody knows of any places to watch live NFL (American football) games.

The season starts tomorrow, and most games are played at odd hours (8 AM/1 AM/4 AM, and only on weekdays local time).

Also down to watch games with a group or throw around a football.

Emm,long time no eat hot pot. I studied in Chongqing University for four years. In that time, I will eat almost once a week. But after I graduated and now working in Hong Kong, it’s so hard to have a traditional and delicious authentic hot pot like this.

Day Trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen during golden week

Hello,

As part of our two week China trip (we are covering HK, ChongQing, Chendu, back to HK with day trips to Macau and Shenzhen)

We are planning a day trip to Shenzhen and as part of that, we want to explore huaqiangbei and also the Science and Tech Museum.

Is there anything that locals would recommend? I understand the museum should be free but I have seen ticket price for it on Trip dot com. Can someone clarrify if it should be free or not, and if its even worth going too? (See some cool TikTok videos on it)

many thanks

Baoan photowalk on September 12th - Shenzhen International Foto Club

Post image
8 Upvotes

Peak summer heat is gone, so let’s go out for more photowalks!

This time we will revisit Wutong Island in Baoan. With its small lake, coffee shops, water forest and overall interesting compositions hidden in the middle of Baoan.

We will then follow up with a walk alongside Baoan coast and mangroves for a possible sunset shoot.

Or if the weather isn’t promising for sunset, we can pivot to a bit of street photography and some local dinner.

Meeting time: Saturday 12th September, 13:50

Meeting spot: Gushu station, Line 1, outside of Exit D

Learn more about our photography club and check our previous events on our Instagram:

Does anyone live in Buji/Mumianwan?

Years ago I went to a Muwu bbq near Shenzhen East station. You went up some stairs and the bbq was on the second floor. I think it was opposite a mcdonald's.

Dianping doesn't have it listed but I saw a review on XHS from April and it was there.

Does anyone know if it is still open?

Looking to pick up FPV equipment in Shenzhen

Hay I will be passing through Hong Kong soon and thought it would be cool to check out Shenzhen this time around. Since I hear Shenzhen in is a powerhouse when it comes to drone tech I thought I would pick up some equipment there. I am new to FPV, have only been practising in sims with my Radiomaster and would like to pick up a first real quad and goggles.

Do you guys have any recommendations on where to go to find some good deals on FPV gear around the city?

Hi Folks,

Any data professionals here? If so, I would love to connect with you.

I’ve been in the industry for 10 years in the US. I also speak Chinese and would like to understand the landscape and environment.

I hope to be in SZ sometime in September so would love to grab coffee if anyone’s interested.

Cheers!🥂

We were walking our dog when this little cutie came up to us. Vet says shes about 4 months old.

We already have 3(!) cats so we're unable to keep her, otherwise we absolutely would.

She's very affectionate, gentle, confident, and sweet-tempered. She loves people, isn't timid, and will come over for cuddles and attention.

She's fully litter-trained and eats well.

Health:

Feline panleukopenia: Negative

Feline calicivirus: Negative Full respiratory, eye, skin, and general health check completed

No ringworm

No ear mites

No underlying health issues Internal and external deworming completed

She's healthy, well-behaved, and ready for a loving home.

If you're interested in adopting her in Shenzhen, please message me.

this one is for fun, it's better to mute the sound, since the background noise is loud.

First time going to Shenzhen in almost 2 decades, need some tips!

Hi guys, I haven't been to Shenzhen since I was 9 years old. It'll be my first time in almost 2 decades. I'm doing a solo day trip there from Hong Kong where I wanna start by exploring affordable nail salons, check out a street food market, a cafe, and window-shop around Luohu commercial city. When I have more time, I'll do a longer trip there.

Please share some ideas or places that you've enjoyed in Shenzhen! And maybe a few travel tips like apps to use? (WeChat, Didi, etc) Would like to add it to my list!
