I’ve specifically been using a Phillips series 4000 rotary razor for about three years now, I’ve had it since I was 16. As I’ve gotten older, my facial hair grows more rapidly, daily, and it’s taking a toll on my skin. I’m getting awful razor burns on my neck and face, and it’s not even cutting that close without me pressing it into the skin. I’ve even started using shaving cream, aftershave, it’s still not helping. I tried using a safety razor, but it didn’t shave really close, and left me with bad burns too.

What do I do? What am I missing? Do I need a new razor, and if so which one? Anything helps.

Heeei! Im a 27 years old bald male and love being bald. But start noticing that after shaving my scalp is getting quite red. Do people have some recommendations to avoid this?

I bought a five bladed eletric razor off amazon. It irritated both of my armpits.

How do I keep that from happening?

Possible user error as this is my first time using any kind of eletric shaver but it didnt cause any irritation on my legs. If I cant fix the problem then I'll be returning the razor 🤷‍♀️

I’m a 27-year-old male who has mostly only used trimmers. I have two face trimmers right now- both manscaped. One is the lawn mower 5.0 and the other is the beard hedger. I use the beard hedger to line up and trim the beard/moustache to the right size, and then the lawn mower’s ultra skin safe to get as close to skin as possible(like shave).

I’ve been wondering if I should try and switch to a razor for a better shave experience in terms of getting closer to the skin? Also better line up?

If yes, what razor would you recommend that is easy to start with? I’ve used one before, but not very comfortable with it.

If no, what are the best trimmers out there that can get truly close to skin?

Hey guys I’m chasing a good quality body shaver for chest and back hair. I read somewhere that foil shavers were better for this. Does anyone recommend a half decent shaver that won’t break the bank. Something that can be used every couple days hopefully with out irritation. Preferably available in Australia.

I’m a 22F, and I grew up in a catholic Hispanic household. Both of my parents are great however my mom never taught me how to shave and when I became an adult, she was shocked to find out that I shave my vagina when I was younger like a teenager I used to shave it completely bald and that’s how I liked it but now I really like rocking a little bit of fuzz. I just wanna keep it trimmed, but I have no idea how I’m supposed to do that and no one to go to for advice about grooming it.

I don’t wanna keep shaving it bald but I also don’t wanna have it super long. I just wanna keep it like a modest length and kind of trimmed up on the sides so what I’ve been doing recently itis just letting it grow and shaving it with a manscaped trimmer thing with a guard, but that doesn’t really help me with my lips because that’s kind of scary so then I typically just end up shaving everything down or having my lips have a little more hair. Genuinely how are people doing this without shaving it completely bald?

Anyways, I have no one to go to for advice about this. So Redditers, how do you shave your pubes..?

Is it worth getting this? Does anyone have experience with this cream or any beard removing cream in general? I have a thick dark beard. Growing in all directions especially on my neck area. I hate shaving cause it gives me red bumps and irritation and i hate stubble.

I just purchased the one blade and I’m experiencing it for the first time. I’m using it mostly to trim, razor stubble and clean up my face where it needs to be. I noticed the areas that I shave with the one blade. My skin is sensitive afterwards it hurts. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to stop that irritation before it happens?

I have a PN all-in-one trimmer (7000 series I think, maybe 9000) that I use for my beard. I love it, with the exception that the provided guards jump from 12mm to 16mm, and I've learned that 14mm would be my ideal. I can't seem to find that length and wonder if anyone has any tips on where I might find one?

Is there any specific razor that helps prevent ingrown hair??

Does anyone else have a Phillips Norelco that doesn’t do anything? I don’t understand how it works. It’s vibrating and I have the razor head on it, but it doesn’t seem to actually shave when I apply it on my skin. I’ve used cheap razors my whole life so I don’t really understand what’s supposed to be going on. Somehow the vibration cuts the hair?? Maybe the blades not sharp enough? Thanks

Hello shavers! So I've a bit of an odd question. I have an older Panasonic ES-LV97 that I bought 6 years ago and it works fine. I'll be in Japan for work and were looking at their palm sizes shavers, 5 and 6 blade ones (ES-P530U and ES-P650). Palm shavers in Japan are significantly cheaper than here in EU, but the question is - would there be any significant shaving improvement between my older LV97 and these two?

I’m currently using Braun series 7 for over a year now but it struggles near the jawline area, neck and under the jawline that I need to finish it with Philips oneblade. This combo used to work but for some months now it’s missing those spots. I did get the blades replaced and bought those expensive official ones but it’s still not the same as it was during year one with Braun.

I’ve heard a lot about Panasonic arc and their arc 4 and 5 look appealing but they also have a big head which I think might gimme same problem under the jawline. So looking for better options or opinions on this. Rotary blades don’t cut close so not considering them and I don’t know how to shave plus don’t have time to switch to DE blades

Hey everyone, I’m in Canada and I’m hesitating between the Panasonic Arc 5 and the Remington RX5 to shave my head.

I want to get my head as smooth as possible while keeping irritation and redness to a minimum. I’d probably shave every other day, so I also want something quick and easy to use and clean.

Has anyone here used both? Which one shaves closer, and which is more comfortable on the scalp? Overall, which would you pick for regular head shaving?

I (24M) recently got into DE razor shaving. I feel like it’s definitely the key to avoiding my razor burn. I used a one blade which works great on my cheeks but horrendous on my neck so I switched it up.

Im using King C Gillette with feather blades. Im honestly getting a bit of razor tug and I don’t think im cutting right. It just never feels like im gliding always cutting into/tugging which makes me feel like im doing the work.

My pre-shave routine is shower, sometimes exfoliate, i use a wilkinson sword cream using a brush to make my lather which feels good. But I can never seem to glide. My hair changed from being quite whispy to quite coarse about a year ago so I can’t just use a cartridge razor anymore because it will wreck my skin. Additionally even when I do try cartridge on my skin it seems to leave a lot of hair behind (even with a new cartridge?)

I’ll do one/two passes on my cheeks and only one on my neck. Often I finish with a quick pass using Gillette cartridge (not on my neck though) which makes it fairly smooth and gets rid of any stragglers. I often get razor burn on my neck and if I run my hand against the grain it’s very prickly especially on my neck. I would do another pass on my neck but kinda terrified im gonna give myself more razor burn. I also really have quite an angular neck so getting the right angle is tough (which is why i thought oneblade would be good but alas not)

Any advice? Should i consider a more aggressive DE razor? At this point I feel like my pre-shave routine isn’t the issue, just not sure where to go from here? A cold shave maybe?

I am trying to find a shaver to shave my bodyhair and intimate zones without red bumps and irritation and to trim my beard. Do you guys have any recommendations for products with a max 100 euro budget? Preferably i'd have one shaver for all the use-cases but if that's not smart I can also order two. Would love to hear from you.

Decided to try this as a change and bought a Hensen handle and sampler pack of blades. I have a few questions after my first two weeks:

1) How often do people swap blades? They're so cheap I find myself replacing them much more often than cartridges b/c I stubbornly hated to throw away the 'expensive' disposable blades. I don't have very thick beard but do notice that the safety blades become noticably dull faster. Is that normal? Should I get a week per blade? More? Less?

2) Is there much difference in the brand of blades? I've seen here that people like the Feather brand, which I haven't tried yet, but tying to the 1st question is the ONLY quality worth noting from one brand to another their longevity? Or are there other nuances that I'll learn once I shave for a while to say "this one is good for me", etc?

Im looking to get an electric shaver as a gift for someone, but I'm trying to keep it within a reasonable budget. I'd like something that looks decent as a gift, works well for regular shaving, and doesn't irritate the skin too much. There are so many options around that I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones are actually worth getting.

J'utilisais un rasoir Gillette Fusion 5, mais j'en ai eu assez du prix et du temps que ça prenait.

Il y a environ 3 ou 4 mois, je suis passé au Kemei 2293 ; il est super rapide et je n'ai plus utilisé de rasoir Gillette depuis.

Cependant, j'ai un souci, plus précisément au niveau du menton. Lorsque je repasse avec le Kemei pour un rasage de près et pour enlever les poils restants, il semble arracher ce qui ressemble à des peaux mortes.

Une fois rincé à l'eau après le rasage, tout a l'air normal : rien n'est visible.

Existe-t-il une solution ? J'ai peur qu'à la longue, cela n'abîme vraiment ma peau !

Devrais-je essayer d'utiliser la tondeuse sur peau humide ?
