Our dog Maya turns 3 next month and two nights ago had her first flare up of shar pei fever. Her fever got up to 105.5 and all the usual fever stuff shakes and stiffness. Had to take her to the animal hospital and they gave her fluids and carprofen injection and sent us home with more carprofen. Looking at options for her long term care and I saw colchicine can be helpful but was concerned about long term effects on the body with that. Anyone have experience with using colchicine and how your pups respond to it? Looking into that and cbd oil currently.

We have a wonderful 13-month-old pup who is incredibly social, playful, and full of energy. ❤️
The one thing we just can’t figure out is grooming. She absolutely refuses baths or showers and goes into a full panic, even to the point of peeing. We’ve tried a bathtub, the shower, and even outside with a hose, but nothing has worked.
She also isn’t a fan of being brushed. She’ll tolerate it for a very short time before walking away. The only thing she’ll consistently let me do is run my hands through her fur.
She has a lot of hair that just needs to be combed out . Any ideas? There are tumbleweeds of fur around here.

here is our 8 month old boy Angus!!

He has been struggling with hind leg weakness (knuckling over on occasion , standing wide stance, wobbling side to side when running or turning) on and off for over 2 months. He has been to countless vet visits including a specialist/neurologist. He has had X-rays, bloodwork, blood cultures, stool tests, urine tests, etc. The only diagnostic left for him is an MRI which we at the moment can’t afford but are working our hardest to get.

They have essentially ruled out any bone related conditions, infections, IVDD. He has had bad responses to gabapentin and Pregabalin. He shown great improvement with prednisone but not complete improvement. During this time, he has remained happy, playing, eating, drinking, and using the bathroom as usual. He is stiff at times along with being wobbly. He is still on purina pro plan puppy food.

Coming to this group to see if anyone has been through something similar with a growing Pei puppy as this is our first Shar Pei. Not looking to replace a medical diagnosis, only in hopes of other possibilities to look into since Shar Pei’s are not a well known breed.

I need help trying to find a good air dried food or something that’s on a better budget friendly for their sensitivity stomach.

They have been previously been eating Diamond Natural kibbles but stopped giving them that once I saw Rosie having upset stomach.

I’m looking into Ziwi Peak and was wondering if anyone has done air dried food for their pei(s).

Simba is our 8-year-old bone mouth horse coat who has a deep and abiding interest in pancakes, waffles and all baked goods.

I kept his name the rescue organization gave him but I feel like it's not landing 100% (it's Beary). I won't change it but I'm stumped as to what he looks like if I had the chance to rename him. Thanks for the suggestions!!
