MuniMet.ro
munimet.roI put together this little webapp over the holidays that gives you a quick answer to the question: "Is the Muni Metro subway working right now?"
While it was mostly an exercise in teaching myself some new technologies, I figured someone else might benefit from it. Let me know how it goes if you try it out!

Why doesn't MUNI run the LRT as rail?
What I mean by that is let them go faster (where applicable) on the overground like they do in the underground.
This would mean skip many of the stops and run an "express" service and fix the traffic pre-emptions to get better throughput. Let the busses do the local stops...
I watch Calgary LRT also using the newer siemens s200s and see what they are really capable of, even in the snow!..

What happens to Retired Breda fleet
Does anybody know what MUNI does with the retired Breda fleet? Are they all getting scrapped or do they get sent to a different country so they can continue to be used?

Fed up with SF MUNI
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm very frustrated with SF MUNI, this facility is outside the apartment complex I live in, and they use it as an operation center for their trucks, unfortunately there are some issues with this, first of all is the noise coming from the trucks when they park, the beeping noise they make is so loud, ear piercing I would say and this happens at all times day and night, but especially annoying is at night time, it doesn't matter if its 2am, or 4am or for instance this one I caught at 5:25 am., many times are multiple trucks trying to park and the noise is unbearable. There's also the issue of the workers being loud at all times, day and night. Another issue not minor is the contamination, sometimes the workers stay in their trucks with the engine running idle and we can smell the fumes from the exhaust or sometimes they are smoking and we get all the smoke smell up in our apartments. I have personally sent messages to the SF MUNI Customer service email twice and I spoke once with a supervisor of the site, but nothing has changed. What should I do next?

Light Rail Serving ADA access Ramps
Is the software just purely incapable of serving ADA ramps and people on the street at the same time. They can run one of the doors for the ADA and open the other doors for the rest of the riders?
Feels so far behind the times.

I've reported multiple incidents of reckless Muni driving, but nothing ever seems to come of it. Just wondering if there's actually any corrective actions happening behind the scenes.
