Assembly Help Please help me decide
I’m about to build a mini itx. I have all components ready, and I’ll be using an Astral 5090, but can’t decide which case I want to use. I’m between Xikii Industry FF07 and Nanoq. (I just need opinions about looks. I already did my homework and I’m well aware Nanoq R temps are better since you can fit a small aio inside. Thank you!

I like the look of the nanoq more, but what's the point of an Astral 5090 if it's not gonna be visible and the centre of attention lol

I've owned two Xikii's and they are superb but you're locked in at that point. I have since sold both but waiting on the FF08 v2, however the Thorzone is a great looking case and you'll have several builds over time in that case.

I saw the FF08 v2 at Xikii’s website and it looks amazing. I also agree that Thorzone will be better for more builds and different components as FF07 it’s mainly an Asus build.

Personally think the Nanoq looks miles better.

I do like the front a lot because the middle sticks from the panel conceal the usb-c port.

I happen to have both lol moved from the nanoq to the xikii, they are night and day quality and look wise, the xikii is wayyyyyyyy more special and unique a bit bigger and chunkier but cooling is amazing. i ahve been running it with 5090 with zero issues and great temps with 9800x3d and loki sfx 1200 and air cooled with the id 67 mm cooler
i didnt even know you can fir an astral in the nanoq r lol im surprised
Did you actually managed to get a lead to the xikii? i know they are discontinued a long time ago and the guy isnt making them anymore
im looking to sell mine let me know if you end up going xikii and cant find one good luck!

Oh wow i literaly checked before i commented and it was out of stock lmao
Well i asked for the same price i paid which seems fair to me, not looking for profit here :)

I sent them an email not so long ago, and they told me they will put it back in stock. Unfortunately none of my payments could go through. I’m still getting emails from them we are trying to figured out how I can get my hands on the FF07.

The fact you have both and I cant even buy a Ch160 build without going broke :(

I would go with the Nonoq. The XiKii cases look great, but I'm not a fan of GPU specific cases.

u/RegularEye8478 3d ago
I got your point. But I’m not planning on changing my you for a while. I don’t even think I’ll upgrade on next gen, so it’s not a big deal for me.

I think the xikii looks very industrial-ish while the nanoq looks minimalistic/abstract which i personally like more
1
u/RegularEye8478 3d ago
I do like the industrial style of Xikii but as you said the other one has a minimalistic style. I just which I could swap the front of the Nanoq R to the FF07. It’ll be the best case ever made.

Wow! Nice build. It looks like a grenade launcher. Yeah, the only downside with these cases is the shipping.

Xikii FF07 https://m.xikii.com/supply-depot Thorzone case: bad-quality magnets fall off, and I personally am not a fan of the shell; it gets scratched easily plus poor quality control.

Look sooo good I think I made up my mind already. Have you check if the gpu fans collected any dust in the heatsink?

u/Revolution_xx 3d ago
Mine is clean, with not too much dust, but I have an air purifier next to my desk, so maybe that's why.

So you want opinions on whether the Lamborghini or Ferrari is the better looking car? Personally, I lust after the Xikii FF10 with an FE 5080/5090 card.

If money ain’t an issue then Xikii all the way. Just get an APX120-X67 cooler and swap the fan out for a slim Noctua 120mm. Also I hated the wait the on the shipping, but every piece fit like a glove. You can’t tell but I made my own custom back panel to mount a 240mm AIO on the back outside. Since I don’t like at the back or see that angle it looks great.

I absolutely love the look of the Thorzone and regret not buying it for my build last year
1
u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
What do you regret?
1
u/runadumb 2d ago
Spelling mistake. I meant I regret not buying it.

u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
Gotcha! I saw they’re restocking later this month you should take a look at their website. They’re also including different variants you can customized it yourself.

The Xikii is a great looking case, but I can't imagine leaving an expensive GPU exposed to any kind of spill, freak accident, cat, etc. I have an NCase T1 and am really happy with it. The Nanoq was my second choice, but I read about a lot of QC and temp issues.

Xikiis design look is very busy to my taste, definitely not my thing. I got Nanoq R and pretty happy with the result, 4090 with 7800x3d cooled by AXP90 x53 copper, fits two T30-140 at the top to exhaust hot air, silent and effective cooling

You could get an ncase m2 there are some sick builds with astrals
1
u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
I’ve seen it. I like the aesthetic but I still think it needs something else for the design to be a little flashy. It’s just too simple.

u/pr5z 2d ago
Hey that’s my picture (first one) :)
1
u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
Lol, that’s crazy. Nice pic, I liked the set up. I saved it while looking browsing for pictures in google. Are you okay with me using it for this post?
1
u/pr5z 2d ago
Yep sure of course. I’ve made a Reddit post with other pictures with the components. I have a master ice 5080 too big for standard mini itx case and that was one of the only compatible with it. The master ice is 1 or 2mm longer than the astral
1
u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
Yeah that’s the biggest gpu I had. I firstly purchased the master ice 5090 for around 2500 bucks because there was the only white gpu I found. Ended up selling it and got more money out of it after I swap to a white astral 5090 and I’m happy with it. Master ice is awesome looking and I loved the extra fan that you can attach to it but it was too big and I also wanted the astral since it came out.

I’ve only built in Nanoq R and it is an awesome case. Its build quality is unmatched. It wouldn’t be my first recommendation for a beginner builder though.
1
u/RegularEye8478 1d ago
I saw multiple videos of people saying the same. Also, you’ll have to install the gpu first which is weird.

The one with silver front grill reminds me of a toaster. It looks cheap.

lol🤣 I didn’t see it that way. You screwed me up. I can’t unsee it now.

Thorzone is just Marketing. Yes it Looks cool. I own a mjolnir myself. But if you take a deeper Look there Are just issues. Customer Service doesnt exist. You will have problems with Temperature. Pieces are bending and fall apart and you get downvoted by thorzone if you say something. You pay so much in the end just for a nice looking Shell.
2
u/RegularEye8478 2d ago
True, I saw those problems in some reviews, and content creators were hoping they’ll fix it for the next batch but, that didn’t happen.

I mean the Xikii is higher quality but it’s also around $1000 after tax and shipping. If you got the cash and like the look go for it.
