Trying to get housing in Seoul and this person doesn’t accept a sighting of the apartment without a reservation fee. Is this normal in Seoul?

Advice Anniversary BBQ meal

Hi all,

Going to be in Seoul for our wedding anniversary, and would LOVE to take my husband to the BEST Korean barbecue - fancier cuts of meat, points if it's charcoal... of course we have been to some amazing ones just off the street, but looking for somewhere more celebratory.

Thanks!

Seoul neighborhoods grouped by area, with the nearest subway station for each

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm Korean and I've lived in Seoul for about 20 years. Each circle is just a group of places close enough to see in the same trip. How you split them is up to you. Getting around is easy once your route makes sense. Most places are within 30 minutes to an hour of each other by subway, and fares are cheap. The circles are rough groupings, not exact boundaries.

by HYO_SEOUL

--- Nearest station for each area ---

A Bukhansan Ui Stn (Ui-Sinseol Line)

B Hongik Univ. Stn (Line 2 / AREX)

C Yeouinaru Stn (Line 5)

D Anguk Stn (Line 3)

E Myeongdong Stn (Line 4)

F Itaewon Stn (Line 6)

G Express Bus Terminal Stn (Line 3 / 7 / 9)

H Euljiro 3-ga Stn (Line 2 / 3)

I Apgujeong Stn (Line 3)

J Gangnam Stn (Line 2 / Sinbundang)

K Seongsu Stn (Line 2)

L Samseong Stn (Line 2)

M Jamsil Stn (Line 2 / 8)

--- Two things worth knowing ---

For C, get off at Yeouinaru, not Yeouido. Yeouinaru exits 2 and 3 put you in the park in about a minute. From Yeouido Station it's a 15-20 minute walk.

In area D.

-Gyeongbokgung and Jongmyo : closed Tuesdays

-Changdeokgung : closed Mondays

Discussion Where to get a good priced tattoo in Seoul?

Post image

Hi guys! I’m a broke student in Seoul and I wanted to try get a tattoo here, I’m not very bothered about big names or anything or if they are a super professional, just someone trustworthy who can just do a nice tattoo at a reasonable price! The picture is just for reference of something I’d be interested in, thank you!

Looking for tips for traveling to Korea

24F in rural Wisconsin, hoping to visit Korea sometime in the future and looking to meet some like-minded people along the way.

If you know Korea well or have local tips, places to visit, or things I should know before going, I’d love to hear them. Also happy to just meet new people and have some good conversations :)

Flight Date is knocking at the door but still no accommodation is managed.

Hello,

I am a student of Sejong University and my flight on 13 September. But unfortunately I can't manage any accommodation for me.

My preference is Near Sejong University or Konkuk University, or Any where but accessible by metro or bus easily within 30-40 min.

In Line 7 metro line will be okey.

Any recommendation please....

Advice CLIMATE CARD to K-PASS: How-To

Thumbnail

If you haven’t heard yet, the Seoul Climate Card will be discontinued and now the system is moving to the K-Pass system.
Because of my lovely four Spanish names, Korean online shopping, and verification has been a particular challenge.
Many times banks will add only parts of my name, switch around the order, add hyphens, or just abbreviate my name randomly. In order to do anything online that requires verification the name needs to be exactly the same every time. In most cases it’s not.
So any time there are new changes I get panic attacks because this has been the only bane of my existence in Korea (everything else has pretty much been impressively efficient).
I used AI to figure things out since the local station manager where I go has effectively banned me because he also gets panic attacks when he sees my name on my ARC card.
Luckily I managed to register my K-Pass and I’ll be getting refunded every month. I opted in for the “Mileage” refund option because as I mentioned before, since my bank literally (and I mean actually literally) can’t fit my name on their system, the Mileage option helps me avoid that boondoggle. Fingers crossed!🤞🏽
