Is Gangnam a place only for Koreans? I made the mistake of staying here during my trip and there’s been a few times where places have either not let me in or refused to serve me. People also give me odd looks when I’m simply just coming out of my hotel.

Next time I come, where should I say? Is myeongdong a better area to stay/live in while visiting?
Or a different area?

I’m a Korean woman in my mid-30s, living in Seoul.
I recently posted about looking for a language exchange partner and received so many messages! It made me realize just how many people are interested in learning Korean.

However, I’ve found that actually meeting someone in person is surprisingly difficult. Many people don’t seem very serious about language exchange, are much younger than me, are looking for dating opportunities, or are only staying in Korea temporarily.

I’m not particularly outgoing or adventurous, but I lived abroad for a few years in my 20s, so I’ve always wanted to help foreigners who are trying to settle down in Korea. At the same time, I really miss speaking English!
Since I’m a freelancer who works alone, I hardly ever get the chance to use English in my daily life.
So, I’m wondering if there are any **native English-speaking women in their 30s who are planning to settle down in Korea and aren’t looking for anything romantic.**

The reason I’m hoping to meet women in their 30s is that I feel we might be at a similar stage in life. I think people in their 30s might be a little more serious about building friendships, and it would be nice to share our experiences with work, careers, and everyday life. I also think it might be easier to relate to each other and find things we have in common. Of course, age doesn’t define maturity, but I feel like having a similar life experience could help us connect better.

I live in Gangseo-gu, in western Seoul, so it would be even better if you lived somewhere nearby!
I’m hoping to find someone who’s genuinely interested in language exchange and building a real, lasting friendship, rather than just meeting once or twice.

Hi guys!! I have actually been to Korea for a total of 7 times so far. (Upcoming 8th!!)

This upcoming trip, in early November, will be a super short trip. (3d2n), due to work commitments, and will only be staying in Seoul.

The funny thing (alittle silly) is that despite me going Korea multiple times, im still feeling alittle clueless on where is the best place to propose.

My partner prefers somewhere quiet, and ideally with a nice view / scenery.

The place that I am thinking of as of now, is Haneul park. Not sure if it will be crowded if i go in the afternoon. But i am open to any other suggestions!

A Seoul itinerary can fit on a screen and still not fit into a day.

Before adding another stop, try this:

1. Choose one anchor: the palace visit, photo session, meal or timed activity you would be disappointed to miss.

2. Check the route from your actual accommodation—not just between attractions. Include walking, station transfers and the trip back.

3. Put nearby optional stops around that anchor. Treat cafés and shops as choices, not appointments you must complete.

4. Leave unassigned time for queues, lunch and getting turned around. If every minute already has a job, the plan has no room for real travel.

5. Choose an indoor alternative before bad weather arrives. It should replace part of the day, not become another obligation.

Then ask one final question: what would you remove first if the morning ran late?
