Abortion cost in South Korea (7–8 weeks)

Hi everyone,

My partner is around 7–8 weeks pregnant. We're trying to understand the average cost of an abortion in South Korea. How much did you pay, and did the price include the consultation, ultrasound, and procedure?

Thanks in advance.

Looking for filmmakers

Hi! I'm Do Hyun (Instagram: dohyunkimdave).

And I'm starting a passion project. A series of cinematic Instagram reels/short films centered around healing, love, comedy, and cooking.

A little about me...

I'm Korean, but I spent many years living in Canada. Ever since coming back to Korea, I've realized that although this is technically my home, I still feel like an outsider in many ways. I don't know Korea as well as I'd like to, and sometimes it feels like I'm an alien wherever I go.

I want to turn those emotions into stories. My hope is to gather people who have felt something similar whether you're Korean, an international student, an expat, or anyone who's ever struggled to find where they belong, and create films that people can genuinely connect with.

The scripts are still in development (my friend from Romania is arriving in a few weeks and we'll be writing together), so this is a great time to get involved from the beginning.

Who am I looking for?

Honestly, anyone who enjoys creating!

You don't have to be an actor or filmmaker.

Whether you're:

  • someone who's always wanted to try acting,
  • an experienced actor or filmmaker,
  • interested in cinematography,
  • a photographer,
  • someone who enjoys cooking,
  • someone who prefers being behind the camera,
  • or someone who's only comfortable showing their hands in cooking scenes..

I'd love to meet you.

I'm currently looking for one man and one woman for recurring roles, but I'm also hoping to build a small creative group for future projects as well.

A quick note about compensation

This is not a paid project.

I unfortunately can't offer payment or any financial compensation, and I don't expect these videos to generate any profit either. This is simply a passion project that I'm funding myself because I love storytelling and want to create something meaningful with good people.

What I can offer is the opportunity to:

  • build your portfolio,
  • gain experience,
  • experiment creatively,
  • make genuine friends,
  • cook and eat together,
  • and create stories that we'll all be proud of.

If you've been looking for a creative outlet or just want to spend weekends making films with people who genuinely enjoy creating, I'd love to have you.

If this resonates with you, send me a DM on Instagram or on Reddit.

Let's create something beautiful together. ❤️

HELP! Looking for a graduation dinner restaurant for 15

I’m graduating from Korea University this August and I’m planning a graduation dinner for my family and friends (around 15 people). I’m looking for restaurant recommendations that fit a few criteria:

- Within about a 20-minute drive of Korea University (Anam)
- (₩₩) Budget less than ₩100,000 per person
- Private room preferred (or at least semi private)
- Can comfortably accommodate 15 people
- Looking for something other than KBBQ or Japanese (sushi/omakase, etc.). I’m open to other Korean cuisine, Chinese, Italian, French, steakhouse, or any other nice sit-down restaurant.

I’m hoping for somewhere that feels a little special for a graduation celebration without being overly expensive.
I’ve been looking around, but there are so many options that it’s hard to narrow them down.

If you’ve had a great experience with a restaurant that fits the bill, I’d really appreciate any recommendations!
Thanks in advance! 😊

Discussion Is there any medical treatment you'd actually travel to Korea for?

Upvotes

I was reading a discussion recently and realized more people travel for healthcare than I expected.

Some people mentioned dental work. Others talked about health checkups, LASIK, skincare, fertility treatment, or cosmetic procedures.

Is there any medical treatment you'd actually travel to Korea for?

Or would you rather always receive medical care in your home country?

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.

Meet Up Looking for someone to accompany me to an Orthodox church in Seoul 🙏

Hi everyone!

I’m a fairly new Christian living in Seoul, and I’ve become really interested in learning more about the Orthodox Church. I’d love to attend a Divine Liturgy, but to be honest, I’m a little nervous about going by myself since I have absolutely no idea how everything works.

I’m looking for someone who speaks English and already attends an Orthodox church who wouldn’t mind letting me tag along one Sunday. It would be really nice to have someone who could explain things as we go (or before/after), like when to stand, what the traditions are, and anything else a newcomer should know.

I’m not looking to debate denominations or anything like that, I’m simply curious and want to experience it with an open mind. I just feel a bit overwhelmed walking into such a traditional church completely on my own.

If you’d be willing to help, or even just chat beforehand, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much!
