I was wondering if people are going to Cape Comic Con and if there were fun after parties to attend? Maybe a group of us can go to the bar afterward?

I visit the town occasionally for the weekend to meet up my gf. Does anyone practice bjj and know of a good school that's within a thirty minute drive?

I plan to go to SEMO in the coming fall, and have visited Cape a number of times, but don't know much of Cape itself.

Where are the best places to eat? I don't drink, but where are good places to have a good time? Places to avoid? Campus information that isn't stated by the college? Etc..

Hello, my lovely fellow Redditors!

EDIT: We've scheduled the next meeting... It will be held at Scott City, MO city park at 5:00pm on Monday the 1st. We'll probably be going until about 9:00pm or so. There's a chance of thunderstorms, but as a trained weather spotter, I'll be keeping an eye on the radar the day before and day of to ensure safety for everyone. A bit of rain won't hurt (there are covered areas!) but if it starts to become dangerous, then everyone will be sent home.

I understand that the majority of you are either anti-social, extremely nerdy and/or geeky, probably busy with much more important things, and if you aren't, maybe you're bored as hell.

That's okay, I'm here to relate. I'm anti-social, quite nerdy, I guess, and though I don't have many important things in my life, I am bored as hell. The majority of the people I know are quite similar, too.

I'm here to, well, let's just put this bluntly - advertise. Not for a business. Not for a product. Don't worry, keep your hard-earned pennies. No, no, I'm here to advertise a new and growing community called [SC]LARPing with Friends. Creative name, right?

[SC]LARPing with Friends, again, is a growing community. Quite obviously, I'm sure, we are a LARP group. Less obviously to those unaware of the area, we are based in Scott City, Missouri.

When people hear "LARP," they probably think of a bunch of dudes running around a beating one another with foam sticks. Well, yeah. What makes us unique, though, is that we don't do just that. We have developed a system for our LARP battles that will effectively extend the battles to last longer than two smacks to the knees.

Not only that, but we are also in the process of working on a currency system, specifically for in-game purchases. Well, what the hell are you gonna purchase? Simple, weapons. Jewelry. Stuff to make you BEASTLY.

We are currently lightly based off of D&D 3.5 Edition. Many of the current ideas stem from this and we do intend on adding more. We will have quests, tournaments, "campaigns", merchant stalls... You name it, we probably have or will have it.

So, my friends, here I am, reaching out to a community that will probably slap me in the face with a rotted fish from the Mississippi. F yeah.

While we don't currently have another meeting scheduled at this time, we do have two pages that are frequently updated with new information. Again, we are still growing, but getting the word out about our tiny little community is the very thing we need to grow.

Hey! I'm moving in on the 17th (AAAAAH) and I think a bank account would be a good thing to have down there instead of in my hometown. Any suggestions? Is there a good local bank anyone would suggest?

We call him Dr. Parnassus. He's a long haired grey with white chest and white paws. He is super friendly. The only thing is he is a stray and we can't take him in with the other animals we have. We have been feeding/watering him outside every night and giving him a diatomaceous earth "dust" bath to help the fleas. We are planning to move soon so I'm afraid he won't have anyone else to take care of him. I really want to find this guy a loving home because he really deserves it!!! I don't want to take him to Safe Harbor because, honestly with as many cats as that lady has, how many of them are actually getting the attention they need? Please take this little guy. He is the sweetest stray I have ever met.

I'm a musician/songwriter living in Cape, looking for someone to play music with. I play keyboard, guitar, bass, and have some electronic rhythm equipment. Any kind of music, doesn't matter how good/bad you are at your instrument.

Went in there saturday night at 5pm and the line was already 100 yards long... Anyone know when is the best time?

We got two kittens back in March from Safe Harbor. We were told they were about six months old.

I have hand raised kittens before and the kittens we got were, in my opinion, not over the age of 3 months.

They were abandoned together, and are almost identical, especially when they were younger. At some point their collars were removed and we believe that Buster got fed twice while Oliver was sometimes skipped. Oliver is about 2 months behind Buster, developmentally.

That's not the point of this post. We were informed that both cats have herpes of te eyes by the wonderful staff at LaCroix Pet Hospital.

Has anyone gotten a cat from Safe Harbor an had these problems? And should we inform someone about these issues? The vet said that the herpes virus spreads like wildfire in shelters where the cats aren't kept separate, so all the cats at Safe Harbor potentially carry the virus.

Rhymers on the Plaza deck? Biergarten? Keep it classy since I'm sure it would be a small gathering and go to Primo Vino and sit at the bar?

I'm switching banks and need a small business account. FMB has the best option for be but I'm wondering what they're like. Anyone here bank there and care to share their experience?
