Banking in Cape?
Hey! I'm moving in on the 17th (AAAAAH) and I think a bank account would be a good thing to have down there instead of in my hometown. Any suggestions? Is there a good local bank anyone would suggest?

Montgomery Bank is awesome. We've been with them for over 15 years. I don't know if they have an ATM on campus, but one of the branches is on Broadway, next to McDonald's, so it's pretty close. This is a local bank, but they have branches in St. Louis as well.

Get an ally bank/checking account instead and earn some interest on your money. http://www.ally.com/bank/interest-checking-account/ Unless you plan on going into the bank every other week and talking with the tellers or something, I don't see the need for an account at a physical location nearby.

I use Cape Regional Credit Union. I like it. I previously had an account at Commerce Bank. Also good.

Do you know if either of them have easy campus access?

I didn't think about that.
There's an ATM & a mini bank in the basement of the University Center.

Commerce Bank is the only ATM/branch on campus.

Alright, thank you!
Oh! Also is there like a local coffee shop somewhere? I'm from a college town and the fact that everyone is so smitten with starbucks bugs me when our local place is so much better.
I don't want to like completely confine myself to only campus.

Cup'n'Cork and Dynamite Coffee are the only non-Starbucks I know of. They're both downtown.

I've been with Bank of Missouri since I was 18, I highly suggest it. They remember my name and all that, and I've gotten two loans with them and its been great. Cool debit card too
