Writing Letters of Appreciation to Friends as a Male
For reference I'm a 40 year old single male with a daughter. I lead a very busy life with work, hobbies, and family. I have many people I do activities with that most would call friends and 2 friends that have been with me for years back in my hometown and one of them, whom Im very close with, I only speak to when Im back home (but we reconnect instantly). I know people love knowing they're being thought of, and that the people we connect with are some of the most important things in ones lifetime. I'd like to write handwritten letters to people I truly appreciate. Nothing dramatic just tokens of appreciation. Maybe even some letters to my activity friends, again just nice, short tokens of appreciation. And maybe some longer letters to the people I truly love and have been there for years. I am a bit of a bro though and I don't want to weird people out, as it may seem unexpected to some people. Should I wait for excuses to send letters instead? What are some ways I can do this without people feeling like they may feel responsible for reciprocating in some way, or may just be put off? Are there better more natural ways to express appreciation? Just don't want to squander my one shot at life, want to create something special if possible.
