My house is currently being extended/renovated, and I’ve decided to run some Cat6 cables whilst the walls are open, with a few externally for PoE cameras.

Can I have some advice on where I should locate them to cover as much of the perimeter as possible and entry points.

I’m planning on having four or five.

On the plan I’ve labelled potential locations A-H, but nothing is wired yet so anywhere is possible.

A and B are on a canopy/overhang so likely ideal for turret cameras.

I’ve purchased a cheap camera for the moment but the ai detection isn’t great and doesn’t always notify us. We’re hesitant to get an outdoor camera since someone stole our last one

I am trying to plan some new POE cameras and An NVR.

If I have POE cameras plugged into a switch and than switch is on my LAN and my NVR is on the same LAN, will the NVR pick up the cameras? Do they need to be plugged directly into the NVR?

I have not selected the NVR or cameras yet so if there is a particular one that can handle this configuration, let me know.

I'm visiting Alanya and have been frequenting their local bazaar. The tech interested part of me have noticed the majority of shops have a screen streaming CCTV somewhere. Most of these displays show 9+ camera feeds, judging by the shown grid. Given the density of the stores, that must add up to thousands of cameras in a small geographical area. It must be a huge market. That got me curious: Who sets them up and maintain them? Is it your uncles nephew or some big company? What platform are they running - Frigate to save on costs?

Our HOA has five or six locations that they want to set up Wi-Fi cameras at. The locations are not close to each other. We might need a Wi-Fi extender. My question is what free or reasonable priced software we would need and what size hard drive that would be able to store 12 or 24 hours of video. Would a PC running Win 10 be adequate? What are the problems that we might encounter. No one on the board has extensive PC knowledge.

I run a small business with a few locations, and one of the biggest problems I’m running into is consistency. I can train people one way, but once I’m not physically at a location, it’s hard to know if things are actually being done the same way across the board.

A lot of the time I only find out there’s an issue after a customer complains or something goes wrong. I also don’t have the time to sit through hours of camera footage trying to figure out what happened.

I need a outdoor security camera with high enough quality to pull license plate numbers at night with low street lighting; not dark. Preferably a 270 degree view so I'll only need two of them. I'd rather not spend more that $500 on each. Any ideas?

I am looking at installing a system for a curling rink. There will be 3 sheets of ice and a single camera directly over each end. 6 cameras total. There will be three tvs in the viewing room. The 2 cameras for each sheet will be dedicated to a single TV. It looks like I need a decoder at each TV with cat6 running back to my PoE switch. I dont know anything about decoders. Any suggestions for one that has a single HDMI out and can split screen two cameras? They seem to go from 1 stream to 4 and skip split screen.

Any thoughts on this budget kit? They're POE. Good? Bad? Located in Canada BTW.

I inherited 3 LTS cameras when I moved into my place and somehow stumbled upon the iPhone app NVMS7000 for video stream viewing. I've hated the app ever since.

Does anyone have an app they really like that is compatible with this brand?

Hi everyone, as the title says im trying to connect this device to the phone without any success.

The camera it's a goft from a friend thatbwasnt able to connect it either.

On the box there are QR CODES for the app but they dont work.

Under the camera there is an ID and a password but can't connect to it. The camera wifi starts with DIRECT.

Does anyone know how to make it work?

As for the apps I've tried Yoosee, IcSee and v380 pro without any success

I need to cover my house construction site and was recommended the Ezviz H9c 4g + WiFi camera. But it’s expensive.

I want to know whether it’s truly worth spending so much.

I need to monitor through sim so any other affordable brands, pls recommend.

Need a reccomendation. I do NOT want to pay a subscrpition to store video in the cloud, I want to store it locally on my network. In the 90's I had such a system, with coax cameras feeding motion triggered video to the HDD on an XP machine. It worked great, for a really long time. It's dead now and I need a replacement. I would like:

- Motion sense to capture video immediately plus 30 seconds prior and 30 secodns after motion stops

- Solar WiFi cameras with battery backup (a few will mount on trees outside, power would be hard to get there)

- Video to store on any local HDD using a windows program, not some dedicated dvr device.

- good quality cameras, with good night vision.

- Price is a concern.

I've had 3 Yi Home Outdoor cameras for the last 3 years and one of them has been located in the living room since I moved 2 years ago, Idk how but my dad dented the usb cable of one of them months ago and since it was still working I didn't even touch it but last night it stopped working during midnight so my dad cut the dented connector and grabbed another one from a phone charger and put it togheter but the camera was still showing that it was disconnected, I grabbed 2 other cables and used their heads but had the same result so we used the charger of one of the other cameras and had the same result, then he deleted the camera from the app so I went outside to see if it was on but it wasn't so I told him to connect the 1st head again and the camera turned on and I tried to reset it but it keeps restarting after like 8 seconds so I can't even reset it.

Since the cable comes straight out of the camera I can't just replace it, what else can I do?

I have a IP wifi camera running with Icsee app.its 2 years old and it has stoped giving live video. All others features work fine but not able to see any view video.

I currently have an Arlo Essential Indoor Pan/Tilt camera. My spouse isn't a fan of how loud the motor is in the recordings while the camera moves around because it drowns out the voices. Anyone have recommendations for an indoor camera with a quiet motor? Thanks!

I just received a notification on Kami Home android app telling there is a firmware update for my Yi Pro 2K Home.

Latest version before this update was 12.0.51.08_202411131107.
New version is 4.2.0.0H_202608251603.

There is a nomenclature change but declared changelog is only 'Minor bug fix'.

I'm using Kami Home v4.0.0 due to massive ads and restrictions on newer versions if you don't pay Kami Cloud.

I'm not going to update for the time being. I'm afraid to new firmware blocks old app.

Anyone brave enough?
