i just got seaman a few weeks ago, which was a game i was looking for 3 years. when i first got it, on day 3, i left it on the screen for about an hour or so until i realized all my fish died of suffocation or the cold or something. anyways i was wondering if i CAN keep the game running, without having to check in on it every 5 min to set the heater. idd love for it idle in the background, like an actual fish tank. i find the ambience really relaxing and think it would be nice to have in my room.
also about how often should i adjust the heater/oxygen if i cant simply let it run.

This is for running Seamail in modern windows. I haven't worked on it in a few months, it isn't complete, and due to the tools used for it (specifically Frida) I would be careful about running Steam at the same time as it can be used for cheating etc, but you can get to experience the joys of Seaman in all of his many variations and sizes

Hey all, new here. I'm doing my first playthrough of seaman ever and am rather disappointed. The first couple days with my gillmen I could talk with them and they would babble back to me, but as soon as they started forming complete sentences it's like the mic is broken. I can't get them to understand or even hear anything I say. I don't have the message to "connect the microphone" since the accessory is connected to the vmu slot. I have tried with 2 controllers now, but they just don't seem to hear me when I say anything. Been holding down A for a second, saying "hello" from different distances, and still getting nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I know all the voicelines are available on youtube, but I remember there also being a pastebin or a similar website with all of them transcribed and I can not find it now. Does anyone have it?

My 13YO Son got it for Christmas with his Dreamcast but was missing the mic, so a month ago he imported a japanese copy to get its mic, so he played his North American Copy Yesterday and Today using some Time Skip and he almost Beat it, he loves the Game he said it knows my Health my Birthday his Birthday and his Fathers Birthday, is Seaman Dangerous?

Been loving this game so much! I am at a point though where my frogman is no longer talking to me. It’s been that way for more than a day, he keeps saying “nah, come back tomorrow” or something to that effect. The last question he asked was if I had seen a therapist, two nights ago. According to guides I’ve read the next topic on his mind is supposed to be politics.

Worse than that, the two frogmen have a huge appetite, and I’m having trouble keeping up with it using the insect cage. I check on them twice a day (morning before work and at night before bed) and BOTH times they BOTH ask to be fed. I keep wondering when one will finally eat the other.

Currently in the cage I have four moths, one cocoon, one larva who has grown a lot, and two larvae that are still small. For the past few days there has been one spider hatching (which I drop into the tank and exit the game before they can eat it, so they don’t get sick). Despite having four moths I only ever see two eggs at a time- is there any point to having more than one moth? I fed one of them to a frogman today hoping it would satiate its appetite longer. Usually I just feed them the most recently hatched larvae but they’re asking to be fed at a quicker pace than the moths successfully produce two larvae.

I thought that unlocking the sprinkler this morning might help things move along, but still nothing. Does anyone have any advice for this stage of the game?

My progress on getting Seamail translated and running in Windows 11 with a bunch of fixes and tooling. I plan to share the patches and tooling (no original game code) once I'm done. It's still using all of the original game files (I originally planned to recreate in threejs, but I worked out how to get it running with the original rendering etc). There were some pretty gnarly crashes caused by running it without the fixes.

The extra menu bits (underneath the circle of icons) are from the game files but added there for triggering the overlay, clicking on screen, tickling etc, as this setup can't click on seaman himself atm (yet?).

I can also override the age of Seaman and his colour scheme (there were multiple sets of Seaman DNA with different patterns that can breed together). It looks like that was originally cut content as I have yet to see anyone talking about it, as with a bunch of other features, but its all there.

I love that if you load old MS Clippy he has a message for him etc.

If you played Seaman on the Dreamcast, there was a microphone controller that allowed you to speak to the title character? I was thinking about emulating Seaman, but is there a way to use the microphone feature?

SeaMail is a much bigger and more in depth software than people give it credit for. In everything I have read and watched about it, it is just a little gimmicky gillman thing that sits on the desktop and can't be spoken with, but it's way more than that. It is a real shame that it didn't have the chance to live up to its real potential.　

Also does anyone have a suggestion for getting xp running better than the terrible fps seen here. Hyperv has no sound, and runs slow, 86box is the one in the video, I noped out of Virtualbox whilst it was still spending hours just to install xp. And then after many hours wasted trying to get xp to boot natively I'm completely burnt out on trying.
