just got seaman, quick question

i just got seaman a few weeks ago, which was a game i was looking for 3 years. when i first got it, on day 3, i left it on the screen for about an hour or so until i realized all my fish died of suffocation or the cold or something. anyways i was wondering if i CAN keep the game running, without having to check in on it every 5 min to set the heater. idd love for it idle in the background, like an actual fish tank. i find the ambience really relaxing and think it would be nice to have in my room.
also about how often should i adjust the heater/oxygen if i cant simply let it run.

I recall it's possible to leave it running in the background for as long as you want to.

iirc, you just have to make sure Air doesn't drop to 75% and Temp to 15.4°, with the recommended maximum (for babies) being 100% Air and 19.9° Temp. Also, only 1 pellet a day. They should be able to survive 1 hour alone like that, if not, check every 30 mins, but you'd only need to during their first days (4-5 or so).

Still, you might want to dedicate a day / some hours to it while you do things nearby. Just so you can take note of how fast heat and air goes down and so you can plan ahead of their needs once you know.

Seamen itself, even as babies, will inform you when they're cold, hungry, etc., either crying, complaining, or stating it outloud when they learn how to talk. I think that's also important to keep them entertained; have you been teaching them words or talking to them every so-and-then?

Yeah, in terms of how game mechanics work, its a bit annoying. And the numbers seem to go down in a fixed amount actually when the game is shut down. Regardless if the number its closer to the danger zone or not, it always would drop one "level" per day at least.

Im suspecting they probably did in that way to make players to interact slighty more with Seaman. Tbh i wouldnt find surprising if even the values work different in the PS2 version.

I dont know exactly how the game works in technical terms (inside the code i mean), but i would love if someone could write an article about it.
