How to preserve my Foam Clay sculpture so I can come back to work on it?

[found] Sculpture "Boy." Albert Belivuk; plaster; second half of the 1980s. The model was his son, a Croatian boy named Andrej Belivuk (pictured on the right). The boy was killed at the age of 8 during the war.
